I have 5 sites each targeting a different service my company offers, should I consolidate to one site or merge to one?

I run a photo booth company and have a site for each service I offer. Are smaller sites that are SEO for each service stronger than just having pages for each service on one mother site?thanks,

I agree with what Tim and David are saying here ... part of this does depend on how successfully these 5 sites are currently performing for you. The fact that you're pondering this a bit makes me wonder if the sites aren't doing as well as you think they should. I'm having a little trouble envisioning the reason behind 5 sites for a photo booth company, but it's not an industry with which I've ever consulted.. Are the 5 services so distinct that they really warrant 5 sites, or are they all essentially related?

Are they simular sites?
if yes then yes I would consolidate, 301 all links to the one site and stop splitting your efforts.
If the sites are not relevant to each other then no.

We just did this for two different clients. His domains were spread out, and none of them performed particularly wonderful. Honestly, it depends upon the current performance and how you set it up.
Most businesses that offer multiple services or products can be combined into one main site that houses them all. For example:
If you had a company that provided lawn care, landscaping and driveway paving, you could consolidate them into one site easily. The pages would be set up as mydomain.com/service and then additionally mydomain.com/service/service-details. Once your main site is completed, you would then redirect the other sites and all their pages into your new main site. If the other domains already had authority, it could help push the new one out the door. Not to mention handling the social aspect and citation doirectoris would be much easier and efficient when you only have to do it for one domain.
I recommend bringing all the services into one site unless they are not related. For example if you had an HVAC company, and a lawn care division in the same site that would not make sense. People searching for lawn care would be less likely to click on a HVAC related domain, and also competitors that only provided one of those services would most likely rank higher, as they only have to optimize for one thing. Also, all their citation links will only talk about them for that one thing, giving them better credibility and consistency. Chances are it would be difficult to find a domain that covered all the services as well.

Hmmm, I think this could depend up on how well things are going a the minute. Are your sites performing well and are they bringing in the customers/leads you are hoping to attain.
There is nothing wrong with having all of these sites, but how do you market other products should the customer land and expect one product, only to find its not quite the one they want. These customer could be leaving without performing an action , yet your other site may have one of the products they desire available, but they did not know.
I would probably suggest having a main branded site that houses all of your items, that way you are able to cross sell your items and people have a greater choice to select from. I would then maybe hold onto these additional micro-sites for any peripheral traffic you have and possibly try drive people to move onto your main branded site.
Just be careful of creating too many sites that link back to yourself which could be seen as a little unnatural. Your micro-sites could be phased out in time once your main branded site gathers pace and develops into a larger presence.

How to approach SEO for a national umbrella site that has multiple chapters in different locations that are different URLS
We are currently working with a client who has one national site - let's call it CompanyName.net, and multiple, independent chapter sites listed under different URLs that are structured, for example, as CompanyNamechicago.org, and sometimes specific to neighborhoods, as in CompanyNamechicago.org/lakeview.org. The national site is .net, while all others are .orgs. These are not subdomains or subfolders, as far as we can tell. You can use a search function on the .net site to find a location near you and click to that specific local site. They are looking for help optimizing and increasing traffic to certain landing pages on the .net site...but similar landing pages also exist on a local level, which appear to be competing with the national site. (Example: there is a landing page on the national .net umbrella site for a "dog safety" campaign they are doing, but also that campaign has led to a landing page created independently on the local CompanyNameChicago.org website, which seems to get higher ranking due to a user looking for this info while located in Chicago. We are wondering if our hands are tied here since they appear to be competing for traffic with all their localized sites, or if there are best practices to handle a situation like this. Thanks!

Doorway Pages & Service Area Business
I see many national brand franchises that offers restoration services such as water damage (Servpro, Service Master etc.) There are local websites for each franchise. Each franchise has 50+ locations that they service They currently have pages like 'water damage + city' that have about 500-700 words each Some websites have 30- 100 location pages optimized for 'water damage city' These location pages do not have a physical offices None have duplicate content (word for word) above 20% The only different between these pages is perhaps 200 words about the city Example: www.servicecompany/water-damage-los-angeles www.servicecompany/water-damage-reseda www.servicecompany/water-damage-van-nuys Are these doorway pages?

Ranking a Website that Services Multiple Cities
We have a website that offers services to various cities in a state. However, since we don't want to do keyword stuffing, how do we rank this website for all of these cities when it comes to the **title tags? **For example, how do we optimize the homepage title tag? Obviously I know we can't put all the cities into it, so how do we choose which city to use? I know we can add city/local pages and optimize them for those locations, but I'm referring specifically to the homepage and other main pages of the website. How do you determine which cities to use in those title tags?

Can to many 301 redirects damage my Ecommerce Site - SEO Issue
Hello All, I have an eCommerce website doing online hire. We operate from a large number of locations (100 approx) and my 100 or so categories have individual locations pages against them example - Carpet Cleaners (category) www.mysite/hire-carpetcleaners

patio heater hire Liverpool And so on..... I have unique content for some of these pages but given that my site had 40,000 odd urls, I do have a large amount of thin/duplicate content and it's financially not possible to get unique
content written for every single page for all my locations and categories. Historically, I used to rank very well for these location pages although this year, things have dropped off and recently , I was hit with the Panda 4.0 update which i understand targets thin content. Therefore what I am int he process of doing is reducing the number of locations I want to rank for and have pages for thus allowing me to achieve both a higher percentage of unique content over duplicate/thin content on the whole site and only concerntrate on a handful of locations which I can realistically get unique content written for. My questions are as follows. By reducing the number of locations, my website will currently 301 redirect these location page i have been dropping back to it's parent category.
e.g carpet cleaner hire Liverpool page - Will redirect back to the parent Carpet cleaner hire Page. Given that I have nearly 100 categories to do , this will mean site will generate thousands of 301 redirects when I reduce down to a handful of locations per category. The alternative Is that I can 404 those pages ?... What do yout think I should do ?.. Will it harm me by having so many 301's . It's essentially the same page with a location name in it redirecting back to the parent. Some of these do have unqiue content but most dont ?. My other question is - On a some of these categories with location pages, I currently rank very well for locally although there is no real traffic for these location based keywords (using keyword planner). Shall I bin them or keep them? Lastly , Once I have reduced the number of location pages , I will still have thin content until , I can get the unique content written for them. Should I remove these pages until that point of leave them as it is? It will take a few months
to get all the site with unique content. Once complete, I should be able to reduce my site down from 40,000 odd pages to say 5,000 pages Any advice would be greatly appreciated thanks

Do you need exact match geographically targeted keywords for ranking within a specified city limit?
For example, I have a personal injury law firm in Sheboygan, Wisconsin. I only care about potential clients searching within the city limits of Sheboygan (and not within the state of Wisconsin or on a national level). Do the following elements need to contain an exact match geographically targeted keyword if I only care about ranking locally in Sheboygan, Wisconcsin? (The type of keyword phrase I'm referring to would be Sheboygan Personal Injury Lawyers, Sheboygan Car Accident Lawyers, etc.) Title Tag Meta Description Main Headline Body Content Should I not include an exact match geographically targeted keyword in my content and trust that Google can make the association with where I'm located by other factors on the website? Website factors: Google local business page is setup linking to my website Other local listings have been claimed and setup properly My contact page contains our full address and phone number My footer contains our full address and phone number on every page
