Finding main keywords associated with a competitors page
-
A key part of my content creation decision is identifying keywords that have been successful for competitors. Ahrefs has a feature that allows me to see the keywords that have resulted in organic traffic for a particular page. So, for example, I can identify CompanyA as a competitor, find their top pages and, for each one, find the keywords that drove the most traffic to each of those pages. The information reported includes the monthly search volumes associated with each keyword, plus the number of visits driven to the page based on that keyword.
That is very interesting to me. I am a long time Moz subscriber and want to find a way to do this here. Is there any way to do this with Moz features? I can't justify both a Moz and AHrefs subscription so I have a tough choice to make if Moz doesnt' support this. I'm hoping I am just missing that here.
Thanks.

do keyword difficulty tool will allow you to show whose ranking for what in the niche you're competing in. Ad words is an excellent and free keyword tool as well.
see what the competitor is showing up for using fresh web explorer place the competitor in
https://moz.com/researchtools/fwe/
then
https://moz.com/researchtools/keyword-difficulty
keyword research can be conducted but should always be conducted using a variety of tools.
I don't mean to be redundant I hope this helps.

I assume that you have the competitors in a campaign on Moz analytics?
if you do you will get the will data on the domain of your competitor when added.
( This is somewhat new)
find their top pages and, for each one, find the keywords that drove the most traffic to each of those pages. The information reported includes the monthly search volumes associated with each keyword, plus the number of visits driven to the page based on that keyword.
OSE You can find their top pages, you would have to use the keyword tool for the more granular information.
If you put the keywords into a Moz campaign you will see all the information you're looking for.
truthfully were looking for a tool just to do competitor keyword analysis I would use SEMrush or SpyFu however adding these keywords to Moz give you a lot of insight once you are done with your initial round of research you will want to continue to research I know this. But combining SEMRush with Moz will be inexpensive and more powerful than AHrefs for what you have described.

Thank you, Ifemidayo. Yes, that's my conclusion too, though I'd love to be proven wrong There are a number of competitive sites (Moz, SEMRush. SearchMetrics, Traffic Analysis App and so on) that provide this so it is a little surprising Moz doesn't offer this analysis.
Like you, I'd love to hear from Moz folks on this.
Thanks.

I do believe this is not currently possible with OSE. I see the top pages tab - I see the page authority, social shares and inbound links... But that's about it with OSE. As far as I know... I'd be interested in seeing what the staff here have to say about this one.

Thank you, Thomas. Yes, that's pretty much in line with my thinking. I have used Moz for quite some time and it is indeed very rich in functionality. It's just a shame that - for this particular scenario (finding the keywords that result in traffic to competitive sites) - there doesn't seem a way to tackle this with Moz.
I was hoping there was some functionality or some combination of features that would allow me to get to this on Moz. It speaks to the breadth of the Moz feature set that I was initially assuming it was there somewhere but I just hadn't located it yet.
Thanks again.

using the keyword research tools Moz supplies are excellent they even pull from SEMRush I would strongly recommend keeping Moz it is a foundation tool in my opinion.
Obviously if you use Moz tools in concert with other tools you will get more data which is important. However if you have to pick just one Moz offers far more than Ahrefs this is coming from somebody that uses Moz, Ahrefs, majestic, deep crawl, SEMrush, SERPS, SpyFu cnd much more.

Which page is currently ranking the best for a particular keyword?
Hi Guys! I have approx. 50 keywords that I'm tracking for a website that has about 80 pages. I am wondering is there any way that I can find out which page on the site is currently ranking best for each of the keywords on my list? Ideally I would like to export the entire list with the keyword in the first column and the page that ranks best on the website for each given keyword, in the second column. Apologies if the wording of this post is confusing - I am not quite sure how to make it clearer. The aim of my task is to determine which keywords should be allocated to each page on the site so I need to work out which keywords are working already for certain pages so that I don't take those efforts away from the well-optimised pages. Many thanks! Meaghan

Keyword Research Help
Hi all, My website is www.bruadair.com which is a luxury 7 bedroom villa in Barbados primary suited for large groups and weddings , using googles adword keyword tool i have been trying to establish some long tail keywords that i could include in my website. However i am finding it extremely difficult to find any long tail keywords (such as: Luxury 7 bedroom Villa Barbados ) that are receiving any local or global searches, it seems that there are only extremely competitive keywords receiving traffic. Does anyone have any suggestions as to how i can find effective keywords? With this type of website is it really as likely to be able to rank high due to the pure amount of keyword competition? I would really appreciate any help given as i am really struggling with my keyword research 😞 Thank you very much!!

Should I use Phrase Keywords when doing Keyword Research?
Hi all, I've spent the past couple of days doing some extensive keyword research in Adwords Traffic Estimator, looking for keywords to optimise my pages. I've been searching using EXACT so I get a realistic value but I'm wondering if PHRASE is better suited for research after all its more likely someone will visit my site via a phrase match than exact? What are your thoughts on this?

Keyword and Keyphrases
I'm looking to optimise my website for some keywords and keyphrases I'm getting a bit confused on how different pages might compete (or help) each other. As we are an automotive dealer I was thinking about building the hompage around 4 keywords (one for each franchise we represent e.g 'Ford'). These show high local monthly searches and medium competition for just the manufacturer name on its own. Then if someone drills down into a franchise homepage (linked from our homepage e.g. www.ourwebsite.com/ford) I was thinking to optimise the page around e.g. 'Ford Dealer' (which has medium local monthly searches and high competition). Then if someone drills down into a particular model I optimise around that and so on. Question is will I be playing the franchise homepage vs the group homepage (Ford vs Ford Dealer) as I have read here on Keyword Cannibalization? Or will it work together? Alternative I guess is not to focus around a franchise on the group homepage and then only focus on the franchise from the franchise homepage onwards but I feel I would be missing a trick? As a new kid on the block help will be most appreciated.

Are the Volume numbers from the Keyword Difficulty Tool identical to Google Adwords Keyword Tool?
I use the Keyword Difficulty Tool daily. Because of the troubles with Google's API I can no longer see the search volumes. I still want to use the tool for difficulty numbers because I think this is a much better number than the Google Adwords Competitive bar. If I use the Adwords keyword tool for volume numbers, will that be sufficient? Is this the same as what Moz usually provides? If no, where is the best place to gather volume numbers? Thanks!
