How to remove an entire site from Google?
-
Hi people,
I have a site with around 2.000 urls indexed in google, and 10 subdomains indexed too, which I want to remove entirely, to set up a new web.
Which is the best way to do it?
Regards!

Hmm, I don't quite understand. If you bought the website, wouldn't you want to take it's authority and redirect it to your primary site?
Re: subdomains > You can use the same WMT account to add and verify the subdomains.
Re: Noindex tag > This all depends on how often Google crawls the site, there is no minimum of maximum amount of time it will take. I'd say that one year is an edge case, and there were other factors at play (i.e. the noindex pages were orphaned).

Hi DAVID,
Thanks for you fast & complete response!
In reply to your question, this webpage was of another tematic, and we bought the domain, but all the information is different.
To remove the subdomains, I have to create a webmaster account for each subdomain?
I been researching and found that the "No Index" tag, sometimes can take more than a year for google to remove the url from the results, you know if that is true?
Thanks again!
Cheers,
Exequiel

The quickest way to remove an entire site is:
A: Block everything in robots.txt - add this line into your file:
User-agent: *
Disallow: /
**B:** Set up and verify webmaster tools, then go to your dashboard, select Optimization
(left menu) > Remove URLs > Create new removal request.
When it asks you to enter a URL, just specify "/" (without quotes to signal the root).
Note! You'll have to repeat the verification / removal process for all of the subdomains as well
That *should* knock out your site within a few days.
In the unlikely event that doesn't work, do this:
**A:** Remove the robots.txt block
B: Add the meta robots NOINDEX tag to each page
**C:** Once the pages are completely gone (use site:example.com to check),
put the robots.txt block back on.
**Question for you:** Why exactly are you doing this? There might be a better
solution for added SEO benefit if you explain why...
Cheers,
Dave

What's the best way of crawling my entire site to get a list of NoFollow links?
Hi all, hope somebody can help. I want to crawl my site to export an audit showing: All nofollow links (what links, from which pages) All external links broken down by follow/nofollow. I had thought Moz would do it, but that's not in Crawl info. So I thought Screaming Frog would do it, but unless I'm not looking in the right place, that only seems to provide this information if you manually click down each link and view "Inlinks" details. Surely this must be easy?! Hope someone can nudge me in the right direction... Thanks....

Multiple 301 redirects and old site content appearing in Google results
I have found that for some Google searches the old version of the site on a completely different domain is appearing on page one of the results, while the newer site is only on page 3. The old site is redirecting to the new site with a 301 redirect, however there is also an additional redirect on the new site to force SSL. Despite this when you view the Google cache of the result that appears in Google the content of the page is still the old site. Is this normal or is Google not following the chain of 301 redirects? Edit: I just found out that downloading the page by right clicking a link and clicking download rather than viewing it in a browser leads to the old site appearing and the 301 redirect not being followed.

Funny thing is also even when searching for my site with a keyword "snowboard gulmarg" my URL www.klinehinmalaya.com does not appear and somewhere way back in the listing my another page www.klinehimalaya.com/packages.php comes up. Any help would be good right now. Thanks in advance, Catherine.

Google Penalty or Not?
One of my sites I work with got this message: http://www.mysite: Unnatural inbound linksJune 27, 2013 Google has detected a pattern of artificial or unnatural links pointing to your site. Buying links or participating in link schemes in order to manipulate PageRank are violations of Google's Webmaster Guidelines. As a result, Google has applied a manual spam action to mysite.com/. There may be other actions on your site or parts of your site. But, when I got to manual actions it says: Manual Actions No manual webspam actions found. -- So which is it??? I have been doing link removal, but now I am confused if I need to do a reconsideration request or not.

2 sites or one sites: 2 locations
Hello, I have a dog training client who is offering services in 2 separate locations. We're looking to be first in the non-local search results and also rank well in google places. Would it be better to go for 2 separate sites or one site and try to rank for 2 different locations with one site? There's both local and standard search results when we type in our keywords. Thanks!
