B2B > Social Channels
-
Hi
I work in ecommerce selling mainly B2B - I wanted to find out if anyone could recommend one social channel they've found worked well.
We're a generalist, so sell a huge amount of different products, like office supplies, furniture etc to companies.
We currently aren't really present on social and this is something I want to push - however with resource I think we'd only be able to focus on one at this point.
I was looking at Facebook or Pinterest?
Thank you

Hi Megan
Thanks for the feedback! I am in the process of working on the content so as it's taking some time we'll need to work on this first to ensure we have enough to post once we get started
Its' B2B so our customers are other businesses but the actual people who order could be anyone. A competitor analysis is a great start!

Hi Becky,
Great question! I find that the "right" social platform can be vastly different from company to company. For us here at Moz, Twitter is great because it's where a majority of online marketers are already hanging out. Where do you think your customers are most active? A good place to start is by researching some of your competitors and seeing what's working well for them.
If you do decide to become active on a social channel, definitely make sure you have content to post regularly. I would have a handful of posts in mind before becoming active just so you can have a good running start.
I hope this helps!

Hi Tim
Thanks for the feedback. I know how important it is, I am a little concerned with how much content we can product at this time - it's not a huge amount at present, so is this something we should work on before we start posting regularly on social?
We do send out emails, so I did think that would be a good option for promoting our social channels to get followers.
Thanks!

For B2B I would imagine that LinkedIn would be a good start.
But as with any social platform I would try and get on all the big players - so Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, G+ from a business page perspective. Having a presence is better than none at all. It is a good place to add any of your blog content, competitions, promotions etc.
Maybe use a tool like Hootsuite that can connect all of your major accounts in one place, so you can post to all social channels with just one post, helping to save you time and effort, but still helping to maximise exposure.
You might be surprised by the social traction you gain.

Also, do not forget the old timely B2B email, with promo offers and product updates, if you have a large email list you can generate from purchasers you already have an audience you can market too. These same audiences can also be applied to some of your social channels for further targeting.

LinkedIn & B2B Marketing/Brand Authority: How Useful Is It?
Hi Folks, I'm in the process of drawing up some detailed step by step marketing and content strategy guidelines and I'm currently researching LinkedIn as a platform and the potential benefits for B2B marketing on it and building brand authority. I'm coming across some conflicting data regarding how useful it is. Does anyone have any experience or opinions on the viability of LinkedIn for B2B marketing and building brand authority? A couple of questions would be: Is it a viable B2B marketing platform? Is it a good place to build brand and industry authority? What techniques would you concentrate on over others? Any advice on the subject would be great. Thanks, folks. Regards Gareth

Migrating Youtube Channels
Does anybody have any advice for migrating Youtube Channels. In other words there is one account with a handful of videos and another account with a handful of videos and we will want to migrate them to just one account. Is it really just re-uploading them and deleting the older account or is there more to this than that? Thanks,

Adding social media to SEO service
Hello, I have been struggling to handle and recommend social media work from my clients to help with their rankings and online presence. Often, it is ignored; however, as everyone knows only so much benefit can be gained through directory listings and stellar on-page optimization. I am wondering if someone could lend a hand on how they take over the social media tweeting/blogging/content etc for a third party so that it is still authentic both to their clients, and also seemingly to Google? Any insight would be helpful! Thanks in advance!!!! 🙂

Is it OK to have two similar business sites share their Social Media (just one FB, Twitter, LinkedIn, etc.)?
These two businesses are owned by the same company (industry is event planning). The parent company has been in business 20+ years and caters to a corporate crowd and the more recent company started by the parent caters to consumers (weddings). Would this have any negative seo implications if they share social media accounts? or is this perhaps just more of a strategic issue i gather. And i would gather that its best for each to have their own blog. Would greatly appreciate some insight! Thanks, Christian

Social Media Marketing Synergy
Hi all, Just a quick question. When creating social media profiles, should there be synergy between them in imagery. For example a fashion brand that has a lot of different styles. Would you have 2 completely different looks on say Twitter and Facebook? Or would you try to find a theme and stick with it? I have looked at other fashion brands and there is a mixed bag. Some have synergy, some don't. Is this a matter of opinion or is their a best practice? I don't think there is a right answer but I'd love some opinions / articles on it if poss! Thanks

Moving to new domain - Social and Branding Questions?
Hi, We are moving to a new domain because our rankings drastically dropped and we want to "start over". For example - If my company is called Joes Computers and the domain was JoesComputers.com and the new domain which will hold our e-commerce website will be completely different for example - BestComputers.com - which do I brand? Which do I put as suffix in all titles?

COOL TITLE FOR PRODUCTS | Best Computers
or
COOL TITLE FOR PRODUCTS | Joes Computers Which name do I take for social profiles? Company or Domain?
(We currently have for the company since it was the same). Please note that our company name is already a little bit known... and therefore inside the website it will be labeled in Logos etc. We would also state "Best Computers by Joes Computers" (as if it is a sub brand or daughter company). Social Media Accounts for International Strategies
Hi! we have a client that wants to begin doing business in Italy and France. As they don't sell directly to final customer, they need to generate brand awareness first in those market. We are thinking of a content marketing strategy. As they are a furniture company and they create a very nice product, we think we can work a lot with pictures and articles. We think that Pinterest, Picassa and flickair will all be very important for the strategy. For sure, we know they should create a Facebook Account for each country, but what happens with twitter, pinterest, flickair, youtube ...? Should they also create an account for each country? They are not a very big company, and I am not sure about if they would be able to generate enough content for each account if they have an account per country. What do you think? One account per country or can we avoid that for some social networks? Thank you!
