Hey folks,
I'm having a little problem with meta description.
If you look at that first result it looks like this:

Exactly, also your Meta Description should have the terms you want to rank indepently this only will affect your CTR and doesn't affect the ranking of this page:
- Try to use "SSl-5 duncan" in this item and check in a couple of days
- I also suggest to check with Google Keyword Planner or a similar tool if "SSl-5 duncan" it's a relevant keyword in searches.
- If you google the terms in your Meta Description may appear the Description you want to appear https://www.google.com/search?q=SSl-5+duncan&oq=SSl-5+duncan+&aqs=chrome..69i57j0l5.3486j0j4&sourceid=chrome&es_sm=91&ie=UTF-8#safe=off&q=The+ultimate+overwound+Strat+single+coil+pickup

It actually looks like most of the results are getting the meta description ignored in favor of content that's on the page. There's not a whole lot you can do about this except to try and write a better description that Google will favor more. I wouldn't worry too much about the meta description as long as traffic is good and you're ranking well for your target keywords. The description is more to influence CTR and does not have an effect on ranking (directly).
Do your best to write a compelling description about the page to help users understand what they should expect to see. Rewriting to explain why someone would want to visit the page (buy the product, learn more about the product, see the product used by famous musicians, etc...) could help it show up in the SERPs.

Writing unique meta titles for canonicalised products or not?
Hi all, I have a question (duh): I have like 10 colours of the same product. I will make one colour the canonical, do I still need to write unique meta titles for the others? Strange SERP's descriptions
Hey, when I googled one of our products i came up with this strange result, see attachment. I searched for: kurs praktische psychologie on google germany. These words also come up in the meta description of this page:** Praktische Psychologie** Fernkurs mit professioneller Betreuung. Testen Sie den praxisorientierten Kurs über die Grundlagen der Psychologie 4 Wochen kostenlos. and in the body: _Sie glauben der Mensch lässt sich trotz all seiner Facetten durchschauen, wenn man sich nur Mühe gibt ihn zu verstehen? Da liegen Sie vollkommen richtig! Meta Refresh
Hi, This forum has proved to be quite active and useful for me. Can any body help me about "Meta Refresh" that Moz weekly report shows as error. My site is not that which needs daily basis or say hourly basis update. We change the content but not daily. Hi, I've read articles on the MOZ blog, which stress the point for unique product descriptions. I think this was even mentioned in one White Board Friday. Now I am in the process of writing them. How many words should they have at least in your opinion? Best, Robin

Category Descriptions if Category Pages are Noindexed?
I have noindexed my category pages. Do I still need to write a description for my categories? I am using the plugin SEO Content Control to see what I can spiff up but I don't want to waste my time. Thank you!

Different Categories, Same Meta Description?
I've heard that having duplicate meta descriptions is bad for SEO and can even be the cause of penalties. However, a duplicate meta description would make sense for different categories on many sites. So I'm wondering what the best solution is for a case like this? One of my sites has around 150 topics, and each topic page is exactly the same, aside from including only things that are related to that specific topic. So why would I want to create 150 different meta descriptions? Not only is it time consuming, and nearly impossible to create 150 unique descriptions for the same type of content, but it also serves no purpose for visitors coming from the search engines. A logical approach would be to use the same meta description and just switch out the topics in the description... but then all of those descriptions would be 95% the same - and I imagine Google might see that as spam. So... suggestions?

Whats the deal with the date at the start of the meta descriptions? I have not really looked into this but I'm guessing its a blog thing? Is there a way to remove this? Thanks in advance
