Anchor text and internal link building very fast
-
Hey guys,
I just posted an article about "Customer Success". After that, I searched in my blog all the articles that contains that keyword and then linked to this new article I want to rank. Is this a bad thing to do, linking all these articles (12) in a row?
Also, is it a bad thing to use "Customer Success" as the anchor text for all the articles linking to this new article?
I looked for this topic but couldn´t find any.
Thanks

I'm not sure I can give you some references, I can Google, I guess, but you can as well. It's type of idea-knowledge you get from being in industry for some time. Read the comment below by EGOL, he has good point about number of internal links to the same page as a logic factor.

Just a few years ago, internal links where hugely important.
Today, the impact is reduced, but I can still add a link to the persistent navigation of my website and the page pointed to by that link will move up in the SERPs. I can even add one link to the homepage of my website and that page will move up in the SERPs.
This might not be so true for nascent sites, but for mature and powerful websites the effect is obvious and strong.
Google uses logic. If you have lots of links to a page all around your site then that page must be pretty important. If there is a page deep in the bowels of your site and you link to it once from an obscure page then Google knows that the page is not very important.

Dmitrii,
Thanks for the reply. Can you give me some technical references for the about the mixing the anchor text? Not that I´m doubting it, but I want to go further and fully understand this topic.

Hi there.
Well, Google doesn't consider internal links for ranking purposes. However, sometimes it is helpful to use internal linking with exact match anchor text to help understand Google what the page is about. So, no, it won't hurt your rankings if you do what you did, but it won't help it either.
What I'd recommend, actually, instead of using the same anchor text for all of those links, use related keyphrases. So, in one blog it would be "customer success" anchor text, in another blog it would be "success metrics" (or whatever else you are targeting) and so on.

How many links per week/month should a link building campaign acquire?
I am running a linkbuilding campaign for my company. I am mostly focusing on guest blogging opportunities and responding to emails from HARO. How many links would I have to acquire each week or month to be considered doing a good job over a 6 month or a year time period? Thank you,

How Many Internal Links are Too Many?
I've watched the Matt Cutts video where he says internal links are natural. However, the site I'm working on has a lot of text links in the body of the copy. It is a majority of the links the site is receiving. Could that hurt our SEO endeavors?

Link Building for extremely niche industry
I understand that when getting links into your site, they need to be good authority but, importantly, also relevant to the information on your own website. I've seen examples for people to find guest posting opportunities on many sites, but these have been for popular industries with mass amounts of people discussing it (travel blogs, fashion blogs), making guest post opportunities more readily available. The company I work for provide doc storage, scanning and paperless solutions. As you can guess, when following these guides to find blogs on our industry, I have come up short with places to ask to guest post on! So, how would SEOmozzers approach building quality, relevant links for a very niche industry such as ours? Also, we'll be building pages for extremely specific types of files (e.g. Microfiche Scanning, A0 Scanning....). For these pages, how will I be able to find relevant pages on these topics to get a link to, because these will obviously be even more niche than doc scanning? Thank you!

Link Building with Widdgets and Tools
Hi, We run a affiliate program and as part of that program we offer free tools that our affiliates can take in order to help them promote our product. We have also used these tools as a link building method as we provide highly useful information. We have seen on Google Link Schemes page (http://support.google.com/webmasters/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=66356) the following part which we believe has only just been added: Links embedded in widgets that are distributed across various sites, for example: Visitors to this page: 1,472

car insurance Our tool basically consists of a link of JavaScript with a link outside of the tool as per the following example: this super widget was provided by mydomain.com We are now concerned that a link building process that we have used for many years is now considered to be gaming Google. We also do something similar with badges that we give out to approved suppliers. These would look something like the following: Approved Supplier http://mydomain.co.uk/ Any recommendations on whether or not the style we are using would now be considered as wrong to Google, even though they add value to our partners sites. Thanks for any help in advance.0 -
When is it excessive anchor text usage?
Hrello fellow Mozzers. There's been alot of writing about excessive anchor text usage, and as an SEO I get it. Don't get to crazy about it, but - WHEN is it excessive anchor text usage? Is it excessive if I have 50 links distributed in 10 blogposts?

Links to International Versions of the same site
Hi, our clients' .com site has a link in the header to the .com.au version of their site and vice versa. In effect this creates a reciprocal link on each page. Should we prevent the robots from crawling this link? I don't think a nofollow will suffice.

Link building options...slim
I am in a smaller town and sell real estate. I have seen a lot of the competitors links and some of them are just blog commenting spam and things like that (although they are ranking well for certain terms and their links are coming from sites that have nothing to do with real estate.) I guess what I am trying to say is should I start going after links from other towns/cities in my state or should I go outside of my state and start looking for other links in other cities and states? I have bought my townstate.com from someone recently and it ranks highly for town, state. I am trying to find different ways to get to number one for my "town, state real estate". What would you do? Would you continue to add content once a week or so as well as build links? Thanks!

How important are exact keywords in your anchor text?
Hi Guys, I’m relatively new to SEO. I’ve recently started working for a website design company and am in the process of changing the anchor text in the footer of all of our clients sites. At the moment most of them read “graphic design & web development by dara creative” with anchor text being dara creative taking you to our home page. As you can see we are not fully taking advantage of the keywords that could have a higher impact. So I’ve done some keyword research and I hope to concentrate my efforts on the following keywords as the anchor text leading to the home page; website design Dublin, website design Ireland, web developemt Dublin and web design Ireland so it may read something like “web design Dublin by dara creative” However this doesn’t read so well as people may think that the company might be called “web design Dublin”. So the alternative might be “web design in Dublin by dara creative”. So my question is which would rank better? Does google rank the exact searched keywords higher than broader searched words? Any help on this matter would be greatly appreciated. Thanks rob
