A keyword my site ranks on has recently dropped from no 2 to 51+ after weeks ranking high.
-
Any ideas? The full SERP analysis still puts it at no 2 so I'm quite confused
-
Yes, it's very much possible. either cached result or it's checking something different. But it happens
-
Thanks - checked semrush and moz tracker and they're both no.2 and the search result itself is fine. Could Mozpro have had an off day?
-
It's not in Google results I am seeing the drop, but Mozpro tools. Thanks.
-
Might be useful if we could have the search term and the site in question?
That way a few different people on here can search for it and see what position you are appearing for them. The search results will vary on loads of different factors, including location of the searcher.
It may be that if you have been searching for that term allot (to see where you place) but don't actually click your website that Google thinks that result is not relevant to you, and therefore displays it further down the results.
Have you tried searching for the term in a 'Private' browser, without any Cookies/Caching going on?

try different tools - semrush or any other. Also simply moz rank tracker.

Hi thanks for getting back to me,
Moz Pro tool is saying +51, google says no 2
It's national only the misreport from Moz is coming in on, we're ranking 1 on the local areas I track for the same keyword.
Never do black/grey hat - we've a great product and are building links organically.
Thanks for your help

Hi there.
So, tools are saying one thing, but actually googling gives you another? I'd look into cache and history related stuff in your browser. Also it might be location biased.
Go into incognito mode, try do a search. See what comes up. Also, tool you are using might have cached information - try couple different tools, see what results you get there. Sometimes it also can be localized bug, and it shows in browser that keyword is not ranking at all, but it actually is. Try from different computers, different browsers. And just wait couple days - see if it comes back up.
P.S. Have you done any black/grey hat recently?

SEOmoz PRO: How to manage a Site with 2 languages on the same domain - without mixing up data?
I want to track a "rootdomain" that has two languages on it, the english version is in a subfolder /en/ 1. http://website.de
Moz Pro | | inlinear
2. http://website.de/en/ I want to manage and track each language-version isolated. So I will setup:
1. http://website.de as campaign DE - german
= as Root Domain
But as there are links to the /en/ Subfolder these data will also be included in all reports. And there is still no option in SEOmoz PRO to exclude folders or even urls.?! This will be bad when wanting a clear report of just one Language Version. 2. http://website.de/en as campaing EN - english
To track as "Subfolder" will not work beacause this option will only consider exactly this subfolder... So is there a way to see data just only for one language Version?0 -
Why my seomoz keyword ranking are different to google SERPs
I use Cute Rank to check my keywords ranking in Google, but after last update seomoz is showing some of keyword ranked much higher than Cute Rank. I checked them manually and they are on positions showed by Cute Rank and not by Seomoz. Can someone explain me why is that?

Does linking to relevant high authority websites effect your MozTrust or Rank?
Basically what the title says. I am having a hard time understanding why a compeitor with less linking domains and none of any real quality, they're all membership sites or partnerships, nothing to relevant to the industry. While we have links and articles on us from multiple magazines in our industry. As well as to relevant directories with high domain ranks. The only thing I noticed is they're linking to their clients website, which are all high authority websites. So do external links count towards your MozTrust or Rank?

Rankings in Google UK
Hi there, Can someone explain the difference between the results in Google UK - the default is 'The Web', whereas I can opt to choose 'Pages from the UK'. My question is: If I'm tracking rankings for Google United Kingdom in SEOMoz, is it tracking the results from 'Pages from the UK' or the default setting of 'The Web'? Are there any statistics on how many people choose to see 'Pages from the UK'? Thanks

Gained Links but MozRank drops. Why?
I'm working with a client whose external followed links rose from 897 to 2792 in about a month. However the client's domain MozRank dropped from 4.52 to 3.82. What is a possible cause for this drop?

Update Rankings?
I signed up for pro last night and in the set up process it asks for 5 keywords. After it ran those, I added another 75. How do I get it to run for those new keywords?

How can I change (specifically, decrease) the reporting/crawling frequency of the keyword ranking?
It always seem to compare the standings based on the week before, which confuses the issue when I'm only reporting monthly or quarterly. Is there currently (or might there be in the future) a way to set this so that the comparison is based on a time period that I specify?

How to see rankings for a group of keywords over time?
I have around 1200 keywords in an seomoz campaign, chopped into various groups using labels. I am interested in tracking how keywords perform over time, especially groups of keywords. As far as I can tell, in the seomoz tools I can only see historical performance for a single keyword at a time. Is there a way to get a historical performance graph of more than one keyword at once? We often run optimizations for sets of words, so it seems like you would have better stats looking at groups of words vs picking one at a time. Is there a way to export historical data for more than keyword at a time? (So I could graph and analyze this sort of thing myself) Does anyone have other suggestions for tracking rankings in this way? Thanks for any help!
