      We’ve got a clients site which doesn't have the contact details on every page, all the contact details are  on the /contact page which is using the schema.org local business markup

      Some sites that our outranking us locally have their contact details on all pages, where as others only have it on the contact page also.

      Is having your contact details on every page a ranking factor for local search ?

        Hey Mike!

        You've received great feedback from the community here (nice job, everybody!). While it's not a requirement to have complete NAP on every page, it is a best practice. I see these 3 options open to you:

        1. Convince the client to go with a more normal layout. If you can, put complete NAP in the footer.

        2. If no dice on that, put it in the masthead.

        3. And if that won't work, you could certainly put it at the bottom of the main body of the pages, incorporating it into your call to action.

          If there's no footer, why not at the top of the page. Something along the lines of "Located at the intersection of street and road in the center of Town" with a nice, obvious Click to Call?

            Laura is right "they are sacrificing increased sales and UX to aesthetics" Customers that want "Pretty" over Marketable are impossible to please. IF you are somehow able to accomplish this task, that customer will expect you to deliver on every unimaginable request.

            I have left campaigns do to this refusal to "bend" for reasonable results.

              Ugh. I can't really speak to your precise issue without the URL, but it's possible they are sacrificing increased sales and UX to aesthetics.  If they won't budge, you'll have to work harder to improve local search performance in other areas like off-site business citations and reviews.

                Thanks for the response Laura, the reason the client dosnt want to put in on every page is that the site is a fullscreen website so dosnt have a footer, and thus no obvious place to put the contact details on each page, but if it could provide a ranking boost, we could convince them to consider it

                  If you are targeting local customers, you probably want to put the contact information on every page for the sake of users regardless of whether or not you need it for the search engines. Why does your client not want to put it on every page, even if it's just in the footer?

                  Aside from usability concerns, having the address on the page is a strong signal to search engines that you are a "local" business, meaning that you serve local customers.

                    Local Landing Page Optimization and Multiple GMB Listings

                    Hello, We’re building out a site for our business that has close to 100 office locations in different cities. Many of these are ‘partner brands’ that we have acquired under our brand. Similar to a franchise model. We want to be able to help users find offices near their location. Each office will have it’s own landing page with a physical address and contact information. We know we’ll have to build out unique copy and markup customized to the office/location. We’ve already read through https://moz.com/blog/overcoming-your-fear-of-local-landing-pages as well. We’re also considering ‘silos’ to build out pages for each location. To preserve authority and avoid cannibalization; our thought was having each location as sub-folders off of our domain (i.e. domain.com/locations/Partner#1/). The other option would be using a sub-domain (i.e. Partner.Domain.com/) which we noticed competitors doing and treating each sub-domain as their own independent site. Is all of the above the correct strategy? Any further suggestions? Should we fill out a separate GMB for each office and should they all use the same brand name? (in other words “BrandA” vs. “BrandA” - Brooklyn Office). In addition to GMB; would each location need local listings created (also all under the same name)?                     Which Rank Trackers Include Local 3-pack Rankings?

                    Granted the Local 3-pack is heavily influenced by the distance between the user and the business, when you actually include the city name in the search, the local 3 pack result doesn't center the map at the city in the search and not the user's location so it is much more consistent despite the searcher's location.  So my personal opinion is that it is worth tracking local 3-pack when you use a keyword such as "Home Inspection Seattle Wa" With that said, which rank tracking services includes the local 3-pack in their tracking results, other than of course Bright Local?

                    Local SEO: Special charakters in brand name?

                    Hey guys, we run a local gym in Germany located in Nuremberg called: "STUDIO N°1 - natürlich fit". Our domain is: www.studio-no1.de We are currently working on a new website since our current Website isn't really SEO optimized. Until then I would like to start optimizing some off-page attributes. As far as I know one of the main points in Local SEO is that your firm is registered at important directories. In our case we are already registred in most of the important german directories. The problem is that our oficicial company name has a special charakter included. This means that in some cases we have "N°1" and in some others "No1! Our Google Business name for example has "N°1", facbook not (no special charakter allowed). Germanys most important site for listings: Gelbeseiten, doesn't even allow special charakters in brand names.... On which name should I focus to get all the business listings to have identical NAP informations? Does it even matter? Schould I focus on "STUDIO No1 - natürlich fit" or "STUDIO N°1 - natürlich fit"?                     Using same business number on different websites

                    Hello, I have number of websites in different locations with different business name and address with verified listings. However, I am thinking to use the same phone number on all the websites as it is difficult for me to keep track of all the numbers. So, is it okay to use the same phone number on different websites with different business name and address? Waiting for your thoughts. Brian

                    Concerned about cannibalization for local SEO results. Should we move some of our location pages to a subdomain?

                    Currently we are providing local SEO recommendations for a well known pharmacy chain.  Like most major brands they enjoy multiple organic (not just 3 pack results) listings when people search for local phrases such as "Dallas pharmacy clinics'". The issue is that all these listings are coming from the same domain page.  We are seeing multiple listings both branded and non-branded search queries. Our concern is that Google will someday decide to choose one listing as the most authoritative and nix the rest of the local listings which will reduce their first page search engine saturation.  To maintain first page saturation we are considering recommending to the client that they move some of their location listings
                    to a subdomain (different IP address) to avoid a Google "clean up".  Please note that our client is certainly not using any "doorway" pages but some of these are very scarce on content.  They do not have an issue with duplicate content either. By using subdomains could we help maintain our client's first page saturation?  Any links to articles would be much appreciated.

                    What would Cause listing to fall off local search map spot?

                    Any reason a listing that was showing in Google between the 3 and 5 spot on local map search would suddenly disappear all together from the map position for a specific keyword?

                    Google is associating the wrong address with my website in SERPs

                    I've dealt with submitting address change information to Google (and Yelp, YP, etc.) when they have somehow scraped the wrong address or phone number. This is a little different. I work for the parent company with multiple companies of similar names making up the family of companies. What's happening is that people are searching for one of our companies (Lynden Transport) and getting the correct website results to pop up, but the address/phone # shown below the URL and in the local results screen is for one of our other companies (LTI, Inc.). Customers should be seeing a Fife, WA address but instead are seeing one for Lynden, WA. I've attached a marked up screenshot to better those what is happening. At least customers are generally finding their way to our company but it's causing quite a headache for our customer service reps and customers as they get transferred back and forth on the phone, and confusion for customers unfamiliar with our office locations. I've clicked on the "Send Feedback" link at the bottom of Google and explained what was happening, but beyond that I'm not sure what to do. The information presented isn't wrong, it's just being associated with the wrong company. It seems like a Google logic error and not something I can control or edit. Any ideas? moz-ltia.jpg
