Plagiarism - Tools Do Not Tell Source of Dulpication

Hi There,
To check if content on my site is plagiarized or not, i copy it from my site and then paste the text in tools available online. They highlight the green text as UNIQUE and in red as PLAGIARIZED. When I click the plagiarized content to see which OTHER SITE is using the same content as that of mine, it leads me to the pages of my own site. I am confused on this. Where is the other site.
Can somebody help how to find the other sites online that have similar content as that of mine. Or there is some fault in my understanding??

Hi Tavneer,
Good question, unfortunately Google will not tell you all duplicates. You need to use a tool for that.
My recommendations is to use the CopyScape tool, its has free service for samples, but I do recommend you get the premium which is incredibly cheap. Should buy credits and then do the following:
- Get a list of all your website's URLs (you can use any method you like. i usually search for site:mydomain.com in Google and export them with SEO Quake plugin/extension on Chrome)
- Go to bulk check on CopyScape
- Add all your URLs in there
- Process the bulk search
- Wait few seconds and you will have a list of all duplicates on external websites, with average percentage.

One way to find where your content is being duplicated elsewhere is to take the text your tools identified as plagiarized, and search for it in Google. You'll want the term bound by quotation marks to get results containing the unbroken passage. Here's an example: https://www.google.com/search?q=%22john+jacob+jingleheimer+schmidt%2C+his+name%22&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8

Content Spinner Tool??? Worth? Recommendations?
Hi all !! We have different websites in the english language (UK, IE, US, etc...), but we focus our content strategy (landing pages) in just one of them. We were thinking about using a Content spin tool to use this content in the other websites and give them an extra push in terms of SEO (content is the king :)). Did you have any idea if they work fine? Did you have any experience with them? Can you recommend any? Are they tools really worth or they are not working fine and after the spin a full review (and probably some re-write) is necessary? Of course I´m talking about the paid ones.... Can You Help Explain This Nightmare Screenshot from Google Webmaster Tools?
Your Next Dress (http://dress.yournextshoes.com/) has been performing poorly in search for a long time. My theory is that Google's algorithm somehow thinks our content is poor, and that we're not ranking for that reason. While we have deleted hundreds of blog posts and improved plenty of others, our SEO has continued to tank and recently reached zero. What are the effects of posting on a blog site using copied content from your site if you source the site on the blog site?
I have noticed that some of my pages from my site are posted to different blog sites and directory submissions they are word for word what is on my site but at the bottom of the page it does list my site as the source and there are links in the text back to my site. Is this going to negatively effect my rankings or is it ok since my site is sourced in the article?

Tools to created embedded content...
Wondering if anyone has done this before,, this so, would they mind sharing the best approach please. To cut a long story short, one of our seo client is a free UK internet safety resource, backed by (but independent from the UK Govt), the site is heavily talked about by sites such as BBC, Guardian and many more newspapers and as a result the domain authority is creeping up to 90 - Oh to be given the chance to monetise a site with DA 90!!! As you can imagine, with the quality of the links the site picks up, the ranking of content on the site can be fairly easy, but the one problem we are facing is that of sites 'borrowing' our content. These sites tend not to be small bedroom bloggers, but rather all kinds of sites. We have seen our content on UK University websites, Police websites and many more whom should know better. Obviously this is hurting the 'borrower' more than us with regard to duplicate content but it would still be good to get some credit for our work without having to keep hunting the sites down and emailing back and forth. We don't need the credit for backlink purposes but would be nice to have people know we read it incase they want to read more. A solution I have pondered is to create embed options, as per youtube et al. Instead of sites having to copy our content to list it, they can still include our content on their site and avoid any duplicate content issues. As I believe the embedded content will be called from our site (I think that's how a youtube video works) our site would also get the read stats on the content regardless of where is it located. We are hoping that this could become a great content distribution tool, we don't need people to come to our site as the site is non profit, has no advertising but we need to justify the resources we get by showing how many people are reading what we publish. We are never going to be able to stop sites using our content so, like the music industry and itunes, if we can find a legal way to do it then we can all benefit. My main question, yes, I do actually have one!!!, is two fold. Is it possible to create embed for whole articles and am i right in my thinking that if our content is on Jeff's Blog and loaded as an embed then the hit on the content is still reflected in our stats as the content is being pulled from our url? Sorry for the excessively long way of explaining this, any feedback is welcomed, even 'don't do it, it's stupid idea'!!

We Just Found Out One Of Our Writers Has Been Plagiarizing - Now What?
I just found out one of the writers we employ has been simply copying and pasting content from other websites into our clients' websites. She's been doing this for about six weeks. We are going to speak with our clients to apologize and let them know that the problem is being rectified, but my question is how to best address this issue from an SEO standpoint? I know that the content needs to be rewritten, but those links are now six weeks old - is it best to remove them altogether and start from scratch, or just rewrite the content under the old link? Are there any steps that I'm missing to solve this?

What are your favourite tools for discoving popular content?
Since looking around for popular content discovery tools I came across a review about a tool called PostRank which seemed ideal until I learned Google had bought it and shut it down already 😞 So far I have been using Google reader and Topsy to discover popular content in my niches but I am guessing there are a whole bunch of other tools out there that may work even better - please do let me know your favourites!

Sourcing content and images for Office Interior Design Blog
Im currently building a blog on Wordpress, and I will be blogging about Office Interior Designs. When I look at my competition they have some great blog posts about office interior designs and I have no idea about how they get: a) The ideas to blog about, how do they find out about these office interior designs b) how they get the content for them, how do they know what to write about each one, do they need permission etc, c) if i am interested in doing a blog on the same office interior design as them, how can I get information )and permission from the company that done the office interior design) on the office interior design so i can blog about it and also how do i get the images and stuff. an example is http://www.officedesignblog.com/invensys-rail-office-concept/726/ I would like to cover this aswell, as i think my future readers would like to know about this. how did they get the images, and the information about the project so they could write a blog post about it? Tools to Eval Blog Content - Rate your Fav tool
Ok, so I know that is has been covered in depth and at the risk of being sent to “google it!” (Which I have done with no success) I thought that I would ask your opinions on the topic.
