Does Localeze replace the need for manual verifications?
-
I work with a lot of clients in the insurance industry. For many of them, local results are their best chance for showing up on page one of search results for these competitive keywords. I've been looking at signing them up for enhanced Localeze accounts to help increase their structured citations. Is Localeze an effective solutions for claiming structured citations, or is manually claiming listings more effective?
Thanks in advance for your help!

Hi Copyjack,
There are many positive things about Localeze's product, but honestly, most of the Local SEOs I know agree that there is no product currently on the market that can replace manual citation building and claiming. Different products build a certain number/variety of citations, but only when you do it yourself can do you have total control over the quality of what you build and where you build it. The tradeoff, is, of course, that manual citation building is much more time consuming than a one-time submission via a provider like Localeze or Yext. If you do decide to go the Localeze route, I think they are a good company.

When you are manually posting to blogs, how closely related does the content of the blog have to be to the website?
For instance, if the website is for a hotel, would it be acceptable to post on travel blogs?

Need seo advice! At a fork in the road!
Hi, I m having a difficult time deciding what steps to take next, about my marketing strategy. I have 2 e-commerce sites for more than 7 years, one of them got a google link penalty back in september 2012 and lost 80% of organic traffic. I have worked on the bad links, got some of them removed and others disavowed. After 5 months of hard work and getting high quality links from authority sites related in my industry, I received a message from google saying that the manual spam penalty was revoked. This was in feb 26th. Since then I have got couple more high quality links and content to the site, but the organic traffic is still how it was prior to penalty revoked (at 20%). I still have no revenue from this site and i don't see what else I can do or how long I should work on it to see some improvement on traffic. My other site on the other hand is doing just fine but has some conversion issues. I m thinking of dropping all seo related activities for my first site and focus on the second one to see if we can have some increase on the organic traffic of that site. If I was to do a 301 redirect from my first site to the second one, what kind of effect will this have on the second site, would that be a negative or positive impact in terms of traffic? also thinking of moving the site from x-cart platform to magento. I appreciate any advice i can get here. Thank you Nick

How long to recover from manual spam penalty?
If anyone doesn't think that spam sabotage is possible, here is proof. In February we received a suspicious spammy link notice and penalty from Google. We did several things to try and fix the problem including getting old links from not very relevant sites removed and submitted, and were denied, reconsideration twice. On the advice of Billy here on the forum, we went through the bottom end of our inbound links through OSE and found about forty domains that had linked to us and were purely trash sites full of link spam. We filed another reconsideration request listing every one of these sites along with dates we tried to contact the site owner (almost always impossible) to delete links to our site and two weeks later we received a note back that the manual penalty had been lifted. My question now is, from your experience, how long does it take to notice a recovery from this penalty? This experience also has me concerned that site sabotage is actually pretty simple when you can plant garbage links from 40 sites, many of which are the same with different urls, and get someone penalized on Google.

Advice needed
Hi Guys, We are trying to increase our rankings for the term "natural beauty products" for our home page.... I have created an article all about natural beauty products with the url as... domain/natural-beauty-products.html what I am worried about is this... because this page has more information all about the key word phrase & the url is the keyword phrase, will it out do my root domain ranking? I created the page to try and give the home page some weight for that key phrase, now I am wondering if I should have had the url as something like "why we love natural beauty products" then in that page included the keyword phrase link back to the home page! Hope this makes sense. Thanks Daniel

How specific does keyword anchor text need to be?
I'm trying to get to the bottom of something. If you are trying to optimise for a phrase e.g. "Keyword 1 Keyword 2" And your anchor text is something like "Keyword 1 keyword 2 Another word" Does this still provide as much weight for "keyword 1 keyword 2" or does the additional word come into play and dilute the effect? If it does come into play does it have much of an effect?
