SEO and Indexing via a Document Reader
-
My questions are in regards to Google being able to index PDF's and Images that are viewed from a document reader. The website offers visitors that login to view a variety of documents including PDFs and images. Will Google be able to find and index these documents so they can show up in search results?
Will the PDFs show up in search results and will the images show up in search results?

How does the document reader affect the SEO of the website?
How does the login affect the SEO of the website?
Thank you,

Hey Joey
They would just need to be able to crawl and access it somehow. So you'd want to link to that content from public pages, or maybe try putting it in an XML or HTML sitemap, and as mentioned try "submitting to index" in Search Console. But yes, they'll index it as long as they can crawl it from somewhere else. Running the crawler on your site and seeing if it gets picked up is a good way to see.

Is it possible to let Google index the content that is behind a login?

Hi Joey!
I would just run a crawler like Screaming Frog - and if your PDFs and Images show up in the crawl report, then Google will be able to find them and index them. Since they are behind a login, that's the only reason they might get blocked. Also, you could try to submit them to Google with the "Fetch and render" in Search Console and "submit to index".

Specific page does not index
Hi, First question: Working on the indexation of all pages for a specific client, there's one page that refuses to index. Google Search console says there's a robots.txt file, but I can't seem to find any tracks of that in the backend, nor in the code itself. Could someone reach out to me and tell me why this is happening? The page: https://www.brody.be/nl/assistentiewoningen/ Second question: Google is showing another meta description than the one our client gave in in Yoast Premium snippet. Could it be there's another plugin overwriting this description? Or do we have to wait for it to change after a specific period of time? Hope you guys can help

Sitemap Indexed vs. Submitted
My sitemap has been submitted to Google for well over 6 months and is updated frequently, a total of 979 URLs have been submitted by only 145 indexed. What can I do to get Google to index them all?

To remove from index or not and stop words
Each product is an item of jewellery based on a letter of the alphabet. At present all 26 are indexed but as you guess they all share the same description, title and URL (apart from change in letter). What I was going to do was set all but one to no-index, recreate new descriptions and revert back to index. But then that got me thinking - through stop words will the titles be seen as duplicates: letter bracelet letter a bracelet letter i bracelet

How accurate are the index figures in GWT?
I've been looking at a site in GWT and the number of indexed urls is very low when compared with the number or submitted urls on the xml sitemaps. The site has several stores which are all submitted using different sitemaps. When you perform a search in Google, eg site:domain.com/store1 site:domain.com/store2 site:domain.com/store3 The results are similar to the webmaster urls. However, looking in the analytics for landing pages used for organic traffic from Google shows a much higher number of pages. If these pages aren't indexed as reported in GMT, how could they be found in the results and be recorded as landing pages?

Domain expiration and seo
My domain name is free with my service with yahoo but it expires every year and gets extended automatically as I continue service, how does this impact my seo efforts? I've heard that the search engines prefer sites to expire in 3 years or more? Is this a fact?

Iframe redirect bad for SEO?
Hi, I have a website (http://www.blowingminds.de) wich I put a spreadshirt shop into via iframe. The thing is I am not sure on how the iframe effects my SEO? Can I just optimise the main domain for search? Well I want the spreadshirt shop to be found under the domain name (www.blowingminds.de) but the only real way to do it is by implementing an iframe because each spreadshirt shop has its own subdomain eg.: blowingminds.spreadshirt.de but the only real way to do it is via iframe, as they do not offer a complete domain redirect. (Or have I overseen some other way?) I hope you guys can help me on this one 🙂 Thanks in advance. Malte

Scrolling Text Old School SEO and hidden index page
We have taken over a site and now find our self looking at the homepage of the site which has hidden scrolling text. A old school way of adding text without leaving loads of paragraphs. I have also removed all links to the index.htm page but somewhere visitors are still coming to this page in there droves. I am considering using a canonical url code but I would rather nip it in the bud. Would love some feedback from some other experts here is the site - http://www.radiatorcentre.com You never stop learning in seo and maybe we can all learn from this example. Thanks
