Duplicate page title and content
-
Hello,
I have an ecommerce store where we offer many similar products, and the main difference could be the color or memory storage. Due to this reason my main problem appears to be be duplicate page title and content. What is the best way to correct this issue? I cant make them different neither. I always include this particular difference in title or description. I guess it is not enough? any way to fix it?
thanks!

If you must have a seperate page for each product rather than the 16G/32G options then you may be able to describe them differently rather than cut an past the text. There are many ways to talk about the features of a given product.
Alternatly, are you able to use an opening page to to talk about the specific features of the iPhone and branch to the version the customer wants to purchase?

i use this product differences in every title and tag I can to avoid it, but unfortunately
still no luck:(
here is example of meta tag:
<title>LG Cookie Fresh GS290 Blue Unlocked GSM Cell Phone</title>
Than we have this product in silver, so instead of word green I use silver, the product itself is completely the same but we have so many same models with small differences. We also cant list one product and than offer an option to choose the customer the color, since they might simply leave the page if they dont see the color they looking for or the storage capacity like in iphone

Unfortunately it's not the option, most of the products are high end consumer electronics and have to create a new product page of every new product.:(
for Example one product would be:
iPhone 4 16gb
second:
iPhone 4 32gb
so we have to list them separtly

Hi Anton,
If it happens to be an OsCommerce Store, there are modules out there that you can install which allow you to see and manually edit Category and Product Titles and Tags in the catalog section of your admin panel. Just check out the Oscommerce community pages for one that suits you.
In the situation where you are using product feeds which often provide identical titles and descriptions you can just edit the ones you want to change - what you don't manually edit simply uses the information from the product description.
If you are not using a standard installation like OsCommerce or some other shopping cart software that has these modules available you can get a programmer to write you a simple script which allows you to do the same thing (or write it yourself if you have the skills). We have several client sites that are dynamic (some wordpress, some custom php etc) where this has been a problem and our programmer has written me a script which provides a web interface which allows me to edit titles, tags and content as I wish. It is a fairly simple process (according to him!)
Hope this helps.

Instead of having separate pages for all of these items, are you able to make a single page that displays the various options? That might make those pages more competitive in search, give you an opportunity to sell multiples, and upsell to the more profitable models.
-
if the color or memory storage is different than you can add that as a suffix on your page title, or the best bet would be to change the page titles/ and add different content for each product.
-
How are the product pages for your ecomm store generated, are they dynamic or static? Is this a custom build store or an off the shelf product? Do you have a link?

Duplicate content in sidebar
Hi guys. So I have a few sentences (about 50 words) of duplicate content across all pages of my website (this is a repeatable text in sidebar). Each page of my website contains about 1300 words (unique content) in total, and 50 words of duplicate content in sidebar. Does having a duplicate content of this length in sidebar affect the rankings of my website in any way? Thank you so much for your replies.

Duplicate page content
These two URLs are being flagged as 98% similar in the code. We're a large ecommerce site, and while it would be ideal to have unique product descriptions on each page we currently don't have the bandwith. Thoughts on what else might be triggering this duplicate content? https://www.etundra.com/restaurant-parts/cooking-equipment-parts/fryers/scoops-skimmers/fmp-175-1081-fryer-crumb-scoop/ https://www.etundra.com/restaurant-equipment/concession-equipment/condiment-pumps/tablecraft-664-wide-mouth-condiment-pump/ Thanks, Natalie

Duplicate content - "Same" profile-information
Hi, I own a casting website with lots of profiles. Some of these profiles only typed in their firstname, email and age, when they registered on the site, and they haven't added more information ever since. From Crawl Diagnostics, I can see that there is "lots" of these profiles, which looks exactly the same (only showing age and firstname), allthought they are not the same. I could add which day the profile were created on the site, to maybe avoid these "duplications". The email will always be hidden. Or, how big an issue is this? Crawl Diagnostics tells me, that there is around 200 of these, and they are "marked" as High Priority. Any ideas on what to do? /Kasper

Should I remove 'local' landing pages? Could these be the cause of traffic drop (duplicate content)?
I have a site that has most of it's traffic from reasonably competitive keywords each with their own landing page. In order to gain more traffic I also created landing pages for counties in the UK and then towns within each county. Each county has around 12 towns landing pages within the county. This has meant I've added around 200 extra pages to my site in order to try and generate more traffic from long tail keywords. I think this may have caused an issue in that it's impossible for me to create unique content for each town/country and therefore I took a 'shortcut' buy creating unique content for each county and used the same content for the towns within it meaning I have lots of pages with the same content just slightly different page titles with a variation on town name. I've duplicated this over about 15 counties meaning I have around 200 pages with only about 15 actual unique pages within them. I think this may actually be harming my site. These pages have been indexed for about a year an I noticed about 6 months ago a drop in traffic by about 50%. Having looked at my analytics this town and county pages actually only account for about 10% of traffic. My question is should I remove these pages and by doing so should I expect an increase in traffic again?

Page Titles For Local - Help on URL Structure
Trying to figure out the best way to construct localized urls for the dental website. For example, If I have the URL:
On-Page Optimization | | Czubmeister
http://www.kooskidental.com/services/cosmetic-dentistry/
and If I want to make it local to the city I would use: http://www.kooskidental.com/services/richardson-tx-cosmetic-dentistry/ But what happens is that I have other options off the menu like: http://www.koooskidental.com/services/richardson-tx-cosmetic-dentistry/teeth-whitening/ But if I am trying to rank for richardson tx teeth whitening, I would have to do http://www.koooskidental.com/services/richardson-tx-cosmetic-dentistry/richardson-tx-teeth-whitening/ But that's pretty long and ugly and I don't think I need richardson-tx in their twice. If I am trying to rank for richardson tx cosmetic dentistry and richardson tx teeth whitening, what would be the best structure for the url's?0 -
Main Page title change.
Hi, For some reason every week or two I am changing the title tag of my main page. Each change takes place because I find new version better than the old one. Does this have any impact on my SEO results (I'm keeping the main keywords each time) ? If it has an impact is it positive or negative ? And should I stick to one title and not change it under any circumstances for long periods of time ? Thanks!
