I have a client who wants us to use StatCounter rather than Google Analytics to measure the traffic to their website. I realize that GA needs cookies to work that misses 15%+ visitors. StatCounter showed that my client's website had 150% more traffic than GA showed. Looking for an opinion. thanks!

150% coming from .. ? Bots is the most likely way to have that influenced. But I would recommend going with a tool that is supported a bit more.

Hi,

IMO it is not a good move. In google analytics you will have more detailed data like traffic source, bounce rate, revenue so I wouldn't suggest you to use StatCounter instead of Google analytics.

I feel like I spend a lot of time setting false positives in my reports to ignore. Can I prevent Rogerbot from crawling pages I don't care about with robots.txt directives? For example., I have some page types with meta noindex and it reports these to me. Theoretically, I can block Rogerbot from these with a robots,txt directive and not have to deal with false positives.

Unsolved Wild fluctuations in ranking, any thoughts on why or what to do about it?

How important is Lighthouse page speed measurement?

Hi, Many experts cite the Lighthouse speed as an important factor for search ranking. It's confusing because several top sites have Lighthouse speed of 30-40, yet they rank well. Also, some sites that load quickly have a low Lighthouse speed score (when I test on mobile/desktop they load much quicker than stated by Lighthouse). When we look at other image rich sites (such as Airbnb, John Deere etc) the Lighthouse score can be 30-40. Our site https://www.equipmentradar.com/ loads quickly on Desktop and Mobile, but the Lighthouse score is similar to Airbnb and so forth. We have many photos similar to photo below, probably 30-40, many of which load async. Should we spend more time optimizing Lighthouse or is it ok? Are large images fine to load async? ECommerce Tracking in Analytics - Should I use a plugin or do it manually?

Hi, I have a WordPress site (woocommerce integrated). I would like to know should I use a plugin to enable e-commerce tracking in Google Analytics or I should do it manually with GTM. Organic search traffic down 60% since 8/1/18\. What now?

I have a small health & fitness blog, and my Google search traffic suddenly dropped 60% around August 1 (I've attempted to link an image). My rank has dropped for 86 keywords. I have no manual penalty, so I'm guessing I was affected by the algorithm change. My technical skills are VERY limited. I've tried to find answers on my own, but every time I try to "fix" something, I only seem to make it worse. I do seem to have some structural/performance issues with my site (e.g., lots of 404 errors from uninstalled plugins and unwanted permalinks). I asked my server for assistance (I used managed Wordpress hosting), and they said they couldn't help. As you can imagine, this is quite devastating, and I have no clue where to go from here. Need your Opinion on Bounce Rate Analysis

I'm currently doing a bounce rate analysis for our resource pages. These are information article pages - mix of plain texts and those containing either images, infographics, videos or even podcasts. By the way, I did search for bounce rate topics here, but I felt like i still need to post this. Unless I've overlooked a similar post, my apologies. It's a first for me to do an in-depth BR analysis, so I need to clarify few things. What is a good or bad range bounce rate? Is there even a range comparison? Like when can you say a bounce rate is high for an information type page? I've read some stuff online but they're confusing. What other Analytics factors should I consider looking at together with bounce rate? For pages (which purposely educate visitors) with high bounce rate, can you guys suggest tips to improve it? I would appreciate and value any advise. Thanks a lot!

How to see organic traffic trend in GA?

Hi Guys, I want to identify whether organic landing pages in Google Analytics month on month (over 6 month period) have increased or decreased in traffic and whether the traffic trend is positive or negative. See attachment of the data. In total there are 500 pages, so it's just not feasible to review each organic chart for each organic landing page to view the trend. I’m sure there is some way to view this in Google Analytics, but just not sure how. Any suggestions? Cheers. 0Bnv85G.jpg
