Google Adwords GEO Targeting Via Checkin
-
Hi There,
I have done a fair bit of searching for the answer to my question but to no avail, maybe it's not possible.
With Google AdWords is it possible to target check-ins to premises. So say someone visits a place or checks-in, they get to a see an Ad. I can't see how it would be possible but maybe they have Googled the business, then they walk in and Google shows the ad based on IP address.
So for example. people who visited the Rose & Crown in York could be shown hangover cures the next day, whilst they are laid-up in bed?
Cheers Mozzers.

Hey Neil!
Short answer: Not Yet.
Martijn made a great point, this is likely something that can be done on Google's end, but currently is not a targeting option by default in AdWords. That's not to say there's not a Beta out for it, though I am not aware of one. I'd highly recommend talking to your AdWords Rep and asking if there's a similar Beta available. They will be your best source for this.
Veronica's link to google's post about store conversions is the closest existing solution, but not quite what you're wanting. To achieve what you're wanting, you'll have to get store visit conversion tracking and then create an audience and target that audience; however, this will only work for your stores and does not allow you to target any specific place or business that you cannot setup store visit tracking.
Hope that helps! Let me know if you have any follow-up questions and I'll respond ASAP!
Regards,

Hi Neil,
Think a bit bigger, Google basically has hundreds of millions of users on Android from which they receive location data. That's one of the insights that they're using for this type of data. If you're in a certain polygon (a tiny little area) then you can be targeted as having been there. I'm an avid Swarm user (Foursquare gamification engine) and they do an awesome job of targeting me at a certain location albeit me not checking in there. Google should be able to do the exact same and connect that kind of data to Adwords for you to target.
So yes, your use case might be possible. Although it might be a very tiny segment of people.
Martijn.

Unsolved Google Ads Subdomain in sitelinks & Composition Change for Strategy Status
I have a basic query but could not find a definite answer on the internet. I am currently running a campaign for the main website of a big education brand and they also have a secondary learning website on subdomain, and I want to add sitelinks of subdomain to the campaign, but I am not sure whether it is allowed or not. The brand I am running ads for is https://www.rauias.com/ and the secondary website is https://compass.rauias.com/ branded slightly different in a subdomain, so should I add the sitelinks of Compass to the main campaign? Also one more silly question My Max Conversion search campaign gave me this status today. "Learning (composition change): Campaigns have been added to or removed from the bid strategy. Google Ads is now adjusting to optimize bids. 5 days left for learning" What does this mean exactly? And Why does it reenter the learning phase whenever I make a small change?

Is there way to have several AdWords Ad for the same keyphrase?
Hi guys. Can I have 2-3-4 ads come up for the same keyphrase? The situation is: I'm bidding for client's company name, there is no other competition (nobody else bids for client's company name), I'm bidding only for exact match and phrase match. Is there way to have, let's say 4 ads come up when somebody searches for exact matched company name? P.S. I know it's weird question, all this is done under reputation management for this company, I'm trying to occupy as much space at the top of the 1st SERPs, so people don't see ROR article in organic position #4. If you have other suggestions - please feel free to put it here. (SEO is being done, not-index pages are being optimized to try to come up as several organic results, backlink building is in process, Social media profiles are being optimized as well). I'm just trying to have some temporary "fix".
