E-commerce catalog structuring for SEO
-
We have about 10 high-level product categories with 100's of products from different suppliers.
What is the best way to structure our product catalog and content to drive SEO?
Basically, we get all our content from the manufacturer and want to make sure we are setting up the product pages and structure correctly.
Any ideas or sites that do it very well?
Thank you!

According to a video I just saw of Rand's white board Friday's, It apparently doesn't have to be an h1, but whichever the first header you lead out with should have the title, yes (I use h1 so I'm not confused lol). Your doing everything right as far following the Yoast plugin and synchronizing everything on the pages, and your on the right track wanting to structure it more efficiently.
My first drop shipping store I had gotten to about 800 pairs of shoes and 20 blogs till I hit a realization I was going to have to modify each and every one of the items to structure it appropriately lol! Looking at your sitemap I don't envy the work that will be involved in categorizing everything.
I did a few searches for Architecture template/cheat sheet for cellular, came up dry. I would start with 4 main categories
- Apps/Software
- Physical Merchandise
- Information
- Blog posts/articles.
Obviously go with optimized names for those, your doing a good job with the onsite so you'll know the right names. From the main categories just slowly pick apart and split the piles into more categories and groups, use tags for your smaller quantity specifications that wouldn't sleeve out categories well. It will slowly and painfully come together! Good luck

We heard that matching the title, h1, and everything helps for SEO. Does it not?
Thanks for the feedback.

Is it this seeforge.com site that I located off yer Instagram? For starters the word intrinsically probably only needs to be said 1 time in that menu not every item listed., perhaps categorize the items all under "intrinsically safe cases". Im guessing fire exit and the other couple things I looked at were Applications. Perhaps that could be a category.
It looks like you have the mega menu, I would definitely utilize some images on one of the tabs. But ya for starters maybe make this your homepage:
TBH I was actually quite confused as to the main product line/service when I initially landed on the home page which should be made clear instantly which I think the url above does just that. So from the top tier I would have physical products and Sofware the two main categories, Then Base the apps on OS or Device, cases by phone model etc.
On a positive note your DA is pretty solid, so once you research all the products and look at long tails for them I think with organization you'll notice significant improvements!

Entities and SEO
How do you find the correct words (entities) to explain an entity ? The words (entities) that go together within a sentence seem to be based on the specific corpus (the keyword you want to rank ) and when they are million of results it seems impossible to find what word / entity is going to explain the entity / concept I want to explain. It seems that I got a better chance at the lottery 🙂 a

URL structure - which one is better?
We are creating a new website and got stuck while deciding the URL structure. Our concern is which url is better in terms of SEO i.e. pune.fabogo.com/spa or fabogo.com/pune/spa and why. Also which one would rank faster if someone searches for **spas in pune if both **pages are same.

SEO Checklist for eCommerce?
Over the past week or so, my eCommerce site has experienced a large drop in organic traffic from Google.I have used analytics to determine that the pages that have seen the biggest losses in traffic are product pages. I know there are so many seo checklists/site audit checklists out there recommending different things, but does anyone have a good checklist (or link to a good checklist) that would fit our situation best? Thank you!

How to structure articles on a website.
Hi All, Key to a successful website is quality content - so the Gods of Google tell me. Embrace your audience with quality feature rich articles on your products or services, hints and tips, how to, etc. So you build your article page with all the correct criteria; Long Tail Keyword or phrases hitting the URL, heading, 1st sentance, etc. My question is this
Intermediate & Advanced SEO | | Mark_Ch
Let's say you have 30 articles, where would you place the 30 articles for SEO purposes and user experiences. My thought are:
1] on the home page create a column with a clear heading "Useful articles" and populate the column with links to all 30 articles.
or
2] throughout your website create link references to the articles as part of natural information flow.
or
3] Create a banner or impact logo on the all pages to entice your audience to click and land on dedicated "articles page" Thanks Mark0 -

Indexing an e-commerce site
Hi all, My client babyblingstreet.com. She sells baby and toddler clothing. Now a lot of the links on her site contain the same products. For instance: if you go to "What's new" you can find those same products in let's say her "Sale Items" link category. The real problem with this is let's say my client sells a green dress and someone accesses it through the "baby and toddler dresses" category. And let's say this URL has 10 links pointing to it. Now, let's say someone else accesses this same green dress through the "What's new" category. And let's say this particular URL has 10 links pointing to it. Instead of having 20 links pointing to one URL about the green dress, I now have 10 links pointing to one URL and 10 pointing to another URL even though both URLs feature the exact same green dress. In this particular example I would want to make the URL of the green dress in the "baby and toddler clothing" section be the canonical URL. So that means I would have to use this canonical tag on the green dress URL that's in the "what's new" category and let's say also the "sale items" category. This could get very tedious if my client has 200+ products. So I am wondering if I have to place a canonical tag on every URL that displays the green dress? More importantly, I would like to know other people's strategies for indexing e-commerce sites that have the same product featured in multiple categories throughout the site. I hope this makes sense. Thanks for your time.
