Moz Site Crawl can't index WIX sites
-
We've been attempting to work on some SEO for a new potential client however they are using a WIX site. We've noticed that Moz SEO tools will not index any WIX sites. e.g. https://www.sharonradisch.com/ (which is one of their case studies).
Anyone seen this that can offer any advice?
Thanks,
Mark -
Hi there,
Thanks so much for reaching out - Sam from Moz's Help Team here!
I hate to be the bearer of bad news - I'm afraid that because Wix creates websites entirely with javascript this is an issue for our crawler and for SEO in general, so this is definitely the problem:(. This is a thread on our Q&A which talks about this issue: https://moz.com/community/q/negative-references-to-javascript-in-beginners-guide-to-seo-chapter-4#reply_330533
If your site is primarily Javascript, then the data you get back with regards to the crawl report won't be completely accurate because of this and we'll have a really hard time crawling in general, because our crawler functions by following html links. There's no real workaround that I can recommend for this one, since it is a technical limitation of our tools:(.
While the tools and data that rely on our crawl of your site may not return the best results because of that Javascript, your keyword rankings and link profile should work just fine.
You might also want to check out a few tools that are compatible with Javascript, like Botify or Screaming Frog.
I'm really sorry I can't be of more help here; I'll definitely be sure to pass this along to our Product team as feedback on your behalf. Please let me know if there's anything else I can help with, or if there are any follow-up questions you might have!

How to have MOZ site crawl pre-launch
Hi, Our new website is about to launch. We would love to have moz.com SITE CRAWL our site before launch. For issues like "missing meta description" and everything else that moz.com checks. We would love to do it before we launch. The new site is currently on a different domain than our live site. example.com <-- this is our live site. new-site.com <-- this is our "staging" server with the new site. We have a long running campaign for example.com Do we need to create a new campain for new-site.com ? Or is there some other simpler way? When we launch we will switch the site from new-site.com to example.com .. example.com will be the address for the new site.. Any ideas or suggestions? best practices? edit Forgot to say thank you for your help and input 🙂

Open site explorer
Excuse my ignorance but I am very new to all this. I have a new site www.sassandgrace.co.uk and am using MOZ to try and get it right first time. On OSE I am seeing different results for http://www.sassandgrace.co.uk/ and http://www.sassandgrace.co.uk i.e with an without / ) and different results again for http://sassandgrace.co.uk These differences relate to the social page metrics but I would be keen to get one consistent reading. What do I need to do? Also, I know that I have links to the site but none are showing at all. On google console there are a couple showing but I know that there are many more. Is it just a matter of time before they are 'found' or is there something that I should be doing? Sorry for what are probably very basic questions but any help is appreciated.

Moz Pro for simple local seo status reporting
I have a new client on a small budget with a local yoga studio. There's been no SEO work on this site so far, so, after the basics, I plan to work through the items on this list: https://moz.com/blog/top-20-local-search-ranking-factors-an-illustrated-guide I'm a new Moz Pro user and am looking for advice on how to use Moz Pro tools with my client to review progress over time...a simple checklist of reports/metrics to share and track, and to use in weekly status reports. Or, in other words, how can I configure and use Moz Pro tools for basic progress tracking? This is not a sophisticated, SEO-savvy client, so I want to keep things very simple. Thanks for any ideas or pointers. Dave

What Moz tool is best to find reasons google has not spidered by site
I just joined Moz and am trying to use the tools however, when I attempt to do so every link comes to a that only allows me access to post questions here. If anyone can tell me what tool is best to find reasons google has not indexed my site, I would greatly appreciate the help. Also if anyone knows why I am keep getting routed to this forum when I try to use any of the tools, I would also appreciate help with this. So far Moz is very frustrating.

Can I use wildcards "*" when setting up a new Moz campaign?
Basically I would like the Moz crawler to focus on a specific section of our domain. We do not bucket things via folder groups, so the use of wildcards would be applicable to us. Our URL structure: www.domain.com/some-stuff-here/p12345 Is the example below a valid input to track the above URL structure? www.domain.com//p Thanks.
