Suspended Google my Business listing - Moz local created a new one - best way forward?
-
I had a suspended Google my Business listing and Moz local automatically created a new one because I had synced GMB with Moz and selected the option to push data there from Moz Local.
The new GMB listing is verified and I dont know why the previous one was suspended.
What's the best way forward? Should Ijust delete the suspended listing and edit this new one, or I should still submit the reinstatement request for the suspended one?
Many thanks

Elaine, as you're probably aware, the account was suspended because Google doesn't allow for two Google My Business Accounts for the same location. Here's an article on how to get the suspended account turned back on. Make sure you've followed the instructions on Moz to ensure you don't create a cycle where you're having to repeat the process.
Before going through this work, were you actively working the old business listing? If you have a history of pictures and posts I'd do the work to get the older listing reactivated. If you've not effectively used the tool, don't waste your time on the older listing, just get into the game with the new listing.
Google My Business Listings are an excellent tool to show new products and to have a steady stream of coupon codes to drive potential customers to your site. To my knowledge, Google doesn't share how they use this information for Local Search Rankings. That said, Google has always said the person doing the search is the customer and they drive the most relevant website to the top of the page for that customer. If my Google My Business page is actively managed and my competitors isn't, I bet I win. That's my opinion...

Hi Dave, did you get to look at the account. In syncing preferences it says 'overwrite listing details' but when I go to manage accounts that option isn't ticked.
I've been advised by support that I may need to disconnect and reconnect my GMB account.

Thanks, yes, I'll do that now.
I was going to deselect the overwrite listing details option but it’s not selected, although it appears to be on the Google My Business Sync page?
I've been advised by support that I may need to disconnect and reconnect my GMB accounts first.
thanks

Hey Elaine! You can disable the push to GMB feature within your Moz Local account by navigating to manage accounts
https://moz.com/local/bulk/connections/gmb/manage and then uncheck the "overwrite listing details"
As far as the SEO implications of creating a new GMB vs un-suspending an old one, I cannot speak to that, but I would like to look at the state of your Moz Local account. Is it possible for you to send us an email the help@moz.com from the email account that houses the Moz Local listing so we can take a look at whats going on?
thanks

Moz local & Rich Data in bi-lingual markets
Hi, any of you have any experience with Moz local in bi-lingual markets? In Quebec, we deal with predominantly French marketplace with large pockets of English speaking communities. However, mostly all of the directories that Moz Local lists to are English. Some offer options to list rich-data in two languages but many don't. Here's the question, have nay of you use both languages when submitting using Moz local (or other similar services) successfully in that the directories that were only English still accepted your "other" languages? Thx.

Why are none of my directory listings showing any Bing or YP information
I have many Directory listings on Moz and none of them are showing any Bing information and almost no YP information. The listings are just showing this yellow exclamation point. This has been happening for the last few weeks. Why is this happening and how can I get them back?

Difference between 'City' and 'Province' on Moz Local business listing page
Sorry, I'm stuck on this one. I'm trying to clean up my business address on Moz Local as I have a duplicated version that ranks better than my verified listing (which is Fulham Nannies). I'm wondering if the problem arises from my entry on Moz Local's business listing for which I've entered 'London' in both the 'City' and 'Location' fields.. I'm not entirely sure that's correct, or what I should in fact enter in the 'province' field other than what I've got at the moment, I.e. London. Should I put something like 'South West London' for province and keep the city entry as London? I'd really appreciate any guidance anyone might have, thanks in advance.

It's been 1 year, why hasn't our Moz Local completion percent improved?
Our listing is about to renew, but the completion percentage has not improved since the first month we started with Moz twelve months ago. I see in Moz there are many duplicate listings for this business. I was under the impression that Moz was handling this as part of the yearly fee; is that correct? If not, what needs to be done to resolve these issues and make sure our listings are complete and accurate?

Moz Local - City being named twice
Hello, So the provided address by Moz is being pulled from Google. It's listing the city twice, even though Google Plus isn't doing this. Meaning there's a few inconsistent listings for the address. Any ideas how to change the address that Moz is using? Thanks 🙂 fDmsIos

Local Search and Moz Local Question
I'm using Moz Local for a few clients right now with good results. Was talking to a friend about using it for one of her web clients and a new scenario came up. The client does waste management and has a dozen locations in/outside of a metro area. She's been "trying to get their listing on Google Maps" without luck. After some probing, it turns out their main address for operations is in the metro area they are targeting, but they don't have waste facilities there and wanted to prevent customers from coming there. They actually use a PO Box for their contact information on their website and make no mention of the main address. Looking to see if anyone agrees with my proposed solution: Claim Google My Business listing for the main address in the metro area they're trying to optimize for. Use Moz Local to clean up their main listing (after a quick check, it's a mess) for the operations address. Update website contact info to include the main operations address, and make specific mention of which other addresses customers should/shouldn't go to for dumping/picking up equipment. So, the recommendation would be one Moz Local account. I figure no need to do listing for all of their other locations since they're just waste facilities controlled by the main listing. Does this seem like a plan?

Moz Local - "Not Submitted"
After a successful CSV submission to Moz Local, the only one that isn't submitted is Acxiom. It says "not submitted, not updated". Why is this? Will it just take more time? Is there an issue and if so, how can I rectify it? Thank you.
