I am new to MOZ
-
I just purchased MOZ local for a client on a brand new location. I had already submitted the NAP to the big four google, yahoo, bing, yelp.
I purchased the 99/year basic plan and now I am a bit confused. Will MOZ submit to the local directories in the network or out of the network that does not have a listing in place (Business New Address) so no listings exist besides the ones I mentioned. Also, it says it will send it to all four aggregators, is this true and how can I verify? Can someone explain what I should expect? YIKES, I hope this is not a dumb question for those MOZer gurus :).
If it doesn't what did I just buy? A way to monitor Google? Please assist. I need to get NAP data out there for local directories for a customer. Should I have done this a different way?
Thanks in advance,
Kevin -
Hi there Kevin!
Sorry for any confusion. In simplest terms, the Moz Local service automatically pushed out listing data to our partner sites, who then accept, process, and update the information on their sites. Here is the full list of our partners for US listings:
Infogroup
Acxiom
Neustar/Localeze
Factual
Foursquare
Superpages
Best of the Web
Citysearch
CityGrid
Insiderpages
Hotfrog
Bing
Apple
HERE
TomTom
NavMii
Uber
WazeIf you have already claimed a listing on any of those sites, we will not be able to override that claim to update the data. You can monitor your accuracy and progress in the Moz Local dashboard. We automatically begin sending out your data to all our partners when you purchase a listing subscription from us. If you do not have a listing on a given site, one will be created for you. Generally we expect updates to complete in 8-12 weeks.
I hope that helps! Feel free to reach out to us at help@moz.com if you have further questions.

Unsolved How do you use placeholders in Moz Local Descriptions?
I noticed you can use placeholders in your business descriptions in MOZ Local such as |city|, |name|, etc. How do you effectively use these and how do they work on the directories? Thanks!

Moz Local Review Management/Customer Feedback help, tutorials, anything? MOZ do you even like your own tools???
I am STUNNED and frustrated that a great tool like Moz Local has the great feature like Review Management/Customer Feedback and have ALMOST ZERO content, tutorials, FAQs, or easily found content that quickly explains some important details. You don't have ANYTHING findable to help me explain to employers or fellow new SEOs how to implement YOUR OWN TOOL. Why? WHY??? • I have multiple locations signed up for complete features - want to share individual location with individual property managers - how? • Exports show "recommendation" as "true" or "false" which I understand - but where in your dashboard is this explained? • I want to customize my property review report/export - I don't need a lot of those columns which are duplicate info or unknown to the property managers. Possible? Seriously - should not be this difficult to track down info/direction/shareable info for YOUR OWN TOOL!

Effect of Moz Local
Hi I'm pretty new to all of this so please be gentle! I've been subscribed to Moz Local for a little over a year and my ratings seem to be stuck at an overall score of 82% and an accuracy score of 87% and I just can't seem to get into the Top 3 local searches with competitors from further away outranking me. Moz Local has been consistently showing Factual, Bing, Hotfrog, Thomson Local & Central Index all showing no address entered. I've been in and put this in myself but no change? Right now my score is showing as 59% with a number incomplete and other unable to be contacted. I have found that, even though the address is entered in a consistent way, that it gets interpreted differently, sometimes leaving out the County, sometimes, the village. I've started going through the "Ultimate Local SEO Audit" and have completed Phase 1 on Google My Business. Pretty much everything looks in order there and the only real change was associating a domain email address with the ownership rather than the old gmail one. I've started to go through Phase 2 and haven't seen anything new there yet. What am I missing? Or, are the Moz Local scores fairly respectable? How can I get real consistency in NAP and why does it seem to take so long for Moz Local to make any changes ..... if/ when they do? And, if everything is as you would expect, why am I failing to get in the top 3 when I have more and better review than anyone within 30 - 40 miles?

MOZ not verifying my Google My Business listing
Hello Folks, Moz Local is not verifying my Google My Business Listing nor is it verifying the manual CSV upload. My Google My Business Listing and my manual CSV upload correctly display all of the same information as my Google My Business Listing and Facebook Page using the following Moz Local guidelines. The only thing that I can think of is that Moz Local is currently pulling up and older listing with a toll free number; however that has been corrected and the feed is real time, so I'm at a loss. Facebook The name, address, and phone number (NAP) listed on the page must be an exact match with the listing in Moz Local. The primary phone number listed must be a unique local number or a toll-free number. The primary page category must be “local business”. A minimum of 2 visitor check-ins are required. Not sure what to do here? Head to Facebook's resources to see how to let people check in and how you can check in. The page must be fully accessible to all potential visitors, so any restrictions based on age, location, etc. must be disabled. This can be easily checked by attempting to view the Facebook page in a Chrome incognito browser while not logged into a Facebook account; if you can view the page normally in these conditions, the accessibility should be in good shape! Google My Business The name, address, and phone number (NAP) listed on the page must be an exact match with the listing in Moz Local. The primary phone number listed must be a unique local number or a toll-free number. The business must not be listed as a “service area business”. A service area business displays with the street address being hidden, as well as the listing not being surfaced through the Google Places API (which is where we pull the listing details from). The listing must be verified by postcard. As a note, it may take a couple days after the postcard verification process for the listing to be available through the Google Places API. The listing must be completely searchable through Google Maps, with the full NAP listed correctly. Any help would be appreciated.

Moz Local - duplicate descriptions
Hello, I was looking at Moz Local and saw that you are supposed to enter a business "description". However, I'm pretty sure local directories will not want duplicate descriptions - can I leave the description blank and then add varied descriptions directly? Is that a way around this issue? Your thoughts would be welcome.

Submitted listings for Removal via MOZ local 7 months - still showing 'Request Submitted'
I manage multiple health care practices and have them submitted to MOZ Local. The main reason for this is to clean up and remove listings with inconsistent business names, addresses and phone numbers on aggregators such as InfoUSA and Localeze. I felt MOZ Local would be something that could save time and money for myself and clients so I wouldn't have to do the phone verification game for sites such as InfoUSA and localeze. In some cases I submitted for removal aggregator listings 7-8 months ago but they are still showing the same 'Request Submitted'. What is the standard time I can expect these requests to go through. I sort of feel duped believing that MOZ would remove duplicate/incorrect listings somewhat quickly. If anyone else has a similar experience or a timeframe of removal for sites MOZ works with that would be great.

How long does it take for MOZ local to see changes to Google+
MOZ local is reporting that the address on my client's Google+ page is wrong (missing state).

5001 Pacific Ave SE Suite B, Lacey, WA 98503 Is this just a matter of MOZ local using cached data or am I looking in the wrong place?0
