How does low difficulty keywords help us to rank for high difficulty keywords?
-
if we use low difficulty keywords in our page( url) and that page ranks in google results.will it help our main page with high difficulty keywords to rank for those difficult keywords , if yes , how?
-
Hi there,
It's unlikely that ranking for low difficulty keywords on one URL will directly help another, more competitive page rank better, but there could be an indirect effect. If you can build up your traffic and authority over time by starting small and ranking for lower difficulty keywords, then the cumulative effect of this may lead to more traffic, more positive user signals and possibly more links which may help the domain as a whole rank better.
So overall, it's something that may help but I wouldn't worry too much about the cause and effect of this and just focus on getting your SEO and content right, then over time you may see a positive effect on both types of pages.
I hope that helps!

Ranking for low difficulty keywords creates kind of a domino effect. By ranking higher for those keywords, you might be link-building or establishing a higher domain authority. In doing these, your website will have generated better metrics to be more competitive for higher difficulty keywords.
Basically, as long as your content is relevant for all keywords, high and low difficulty, the strategies you'll typically use to boost one will help both.

HELP my client wants to run two yoga companies from the same address
My client has been very successful in local for yoga hertford. Now she wants to do an additional site with five other yogies. The name of the company is obviously different and as with her original company hertsyoga - the actual venues for the sessions are all over the place but principally at a local venue called the Castle which hires out a studio. My question is what do I do to keep her Nap consistent. She apparently has friendly neighbours who are happy for her to use their address (one door up), and apparently they wont move! But I really don't think they will be happy for me to put their address on the site and in citations locally. What should I do?

Places page help
Hi I was hoping somebody could provide me with some help regarding places pages. If I search 'recruitment agencies Chester' I get this result https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=recruitment+agencies+chester&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&rls=org.mozilla:en-GB:official&client=firefox-a&gws_rd=cr&ei=LsBTUr6rJ8Sw0wXt74CQAg I am confused as to why certain sites are ranking higher than others for example: The site with the a) ranking has no reviews and the place page doesn't seem particularly optimised. The site ranked at c) has 2 bad reviews The site ranked at g) seems to have a much more optimised places page yet ranks below the other sites. Is this just a strange batch of results or can somebody provide me with more information/ help? I don't understand the ranking system at the moment. Thanks for any help you might be able to offer!

.png vs .jpg - Which ranks better or does it matter?
Hi Moz community, I am working on a SEO project (ecommerce) and most of the images on the website are .png and I notice they do not rank but yet the .jpg do. Do you recommend I change all the .png to .jpg? They all have alt text and keyword filenames (no spam 🙂 Here is the website www.moldear.com.ar. Notice the swimming pool coping tiles are .png and the swimming pool images are .jpg. I cannot get the coping images to rank for some reason Thanks Carla

As a whitehat SEO how do you manage in a highly competative market?
I have a competator that has literally hundreds of sites like this: http://www.wire-shelf.com/tag/cleaning/ that don't have a huge amount of page authority, but he is getting citations out of all of them. The site is obviously useless, and just a place for some SEO company to keep adding more links to their various clients, and creating google citations for them at the same time. Once you have filled out your information on every single local database and obtained all the legit citations you can, your competitors are still beating you by having more citations, from various sites like the one above. Is there any way to stay whitehat and actually succeed? or should i just follow suit, and make 100 crappy websites full of crap and put links in them. seems silly, but it seems like the only way to compete these days.

Optimizing Google Places Listing - Please Help!
I claimed the Google Places listing a few months ago - added a description and all the necessary information. Finally got the page to show up in the places category on the 5th page for the search "vet las vegas". Then on some computers it likes to show up on the 8th page and on others the 5th page - weird!?. I need some help on the following: How can I get Google to put my website as an link in the "More About This Place"/citation section? The old website which was at a different domain is present but not the new one (the new one has been live for 2 months). -Am I missing any key information to help with my ranking? The 8th page is a pretty poor ranking and holds no value whatsoever. The description I typed out on Google Places does not display in the search results. - I am assuming adding citations is essentially just about adding backlinks that Google can pull to add to the "More About This Place" section - any surefire ways to get more citations there? WEBSITE: http://www.petmedicalcenter.com PLACES PAGE: http://maps.google.com/maps/place?hl=en&prmd=ivnscm&bav=on.2,or.r_gc.r_pw.&biw=1187&bih=649&um=1&ie=UTF-8&q=vet+las+vegas&fb=1&gl=us&hq=vet&hnear=0x80beb782a4f57dd1:0x3accd5e6d5b379a3,Las+Vegas,+NV&cid=13431404354265657899&ei=5Bf1TdvWLIey0AGe-M3sDA&sa=X&oi=local_result&ct=placepage-link&resnum=4&ved=0CEIQ4gkwAzhG Any other feedback or ideas would be really appreciated. Will linking to my citation sources help google recognize them / credit my places account?
Or will those sources be discounted by google then similar to how google discounts link exchanges? I have noticed some pages, like mapquest, don't really have a directory, so google might not be aware of their content unless it is linked too??? In this type of a case, would it help to link to mapquest's search results? then the citation will get picked up by google? Example: http://www.mapquest.com/?hk=6-i30tP49i
