hi, sorry i do not think i explained myself properly, i was talking about the actual blogger, the way it looks.
i want to know if there are any designs out there to make it look tidy and if there are any articles out there that i can read to make it look more professional.
i signed up for the blogger account a few years ago and have only really used it to show intro to my articles but now i would like to make it look better

A "lifestyle magazine brings you all the latest news and views and latest health features and celebrity gossip" is cool, but how do you compete with domains already doing the same thing and have a bunch of their own writers, tons of subscribers, and tons of domain authority? One person can't hope to gain traction on a platform that broadly covers new, views, health, and gossip. You've got to narrow your focus.
For example, you could cover new, views, health, and gossip for a couple of "B" list celebrities that also have something in common with you, like place of origin, hobby, or favorite author. That way you can relate to them better and your content can focus on details that an audience, who also wants to know about those details, will want to come back again and again to read more about.
You need to document exactly you want your blog to accomplish and how you will verify that it has been accomplished. In order to do that correctly, you've got to go through a bunch of ideas and spend serious time researching each of those ideas and seeing 1. what other people are doing along those lines 2. whether you're able to do a similar amount of work as those successful ones are doing 3. how you can be different from them and still achieve your goal.

Can anyone recommend a good reliable blogging platform for a small to medium sized manufacturing and services company?
I've been asked by my manager to investigate the best blogging platform for our company website. On a recent CIM course it ways suggested that Wordpress is not necessarily reliable. Could anyone advise? The blog is required to provide a space for current industry news, casestudies etc. It is also envisaged that the blog will allow comments. I've only got good things to say about Wordpress, but have only used the platform for my own small SEO company.

Where to find a directory of industry bloggers
Could anyone out there recommend directory sites containing industry specific bloggers or industry specific guest blogs. Always seems very difficult to come by. For example we have written a great article collaborating with a "hardwood flooring" company and would love to get this published. We are in London. Happy holidays to you all 🙂

How to encourage guest bloggers to link back
Hi, we have just started to allow guest bloggers on our site www.in2town.co.uk where we offer them two links within the articles, but what we would really like to do is to encourage them to link back to their articles. I am trying to find information on how we can encourage guest bloggers to link back and would love to hear your thoughts.

Ideas for Redesigning, Relaunching, and Revitalizing a Community of Bloggers
As a longtime user (now the owner) of a great site that was down a few times over the last couple of years I am looking for advice on how to let the over 100,000 members that have used us know that we are back and now supported fully by a team of people that love the site and what we stand for (quality, curated content and blog carnivals). We did a complete redesign, removed old carnivals, removed inactive users, deleted lower quality carnivals, and fixed some portions of the site that were less than optimal (aka broken). Should we attempt to email everyone, or let them naturally come back? In case it's not clear, we are from BlogCarnival.com.

Can someone define what a low quality blog is supposed to look like?
I know the recent Google update devalued a lot of low quality blogs, but i'm having a hard time understanding what can be considered low quality? My site is www.247VirtualAssistant.com and it wa sitting in the top 3 for all my keywords(virtual assistant, virtual assistants etc etc). Last month everything tanked and now on the 2nd and 3rd page for my keywords. I'm thinking this is because of a lot of my links got devalued but with my limited SEO knowledge, i'm having a hard time identifiyng these. Please help!

Can I delete an old blog post and be ok?
I wrote some blog posts on my wordpress blog a few years ago that I no longer want on my site. I have them "no index" and "no follow" but everytime I run a report on my site they still seem to pop up. If I just delete the posts will it result in a broken link for my site? Or is there another way I can go about it? Thanks guys

I have a page where you can download a PDF of the material - should I exclude the PDF from the search engines?
In my niche, there is a controversial research article that is very popular. I am writing a rebuttal to this article and giving another point of view. My article has the potential to be really good link bait for my site. The original article is often printed out to be shown to professionals in my niche. My hope is that people will do the same with mine. So, I plan to have a PDF version of my article available on my page. The article that is visible on my site (i.e. non PDF) will be a graphic rich article that is easy for the reader to go through. I plan to have the PDF have all of the same text, but it won't have as many graphics - it will look more like a scientific research article. So, should I exclude the pdf from search engines so that it isn't duplicate content? Or does that even matter seeing as it is a duplicate of my own content? I want people to link to the main article, not the pdf. Any tips would be greatly appreciated!
