01 November 2013 - A possible Google's update??
-
Hello Guys! On 01 November 2013, one of our website's traffic has been dropped by more than 70%. We had added plenty of domains to the disavow tool, I am just wondering if its a Google's update or the disavow tool has destroyed the site?
Any ideas?

Mozcast also record a spike in the Google weather between 1st and 3rd November, but there were bigger rises between 23rd and 28th October showing more changes went on during that period.

There is a strong possibility of a new update because Barry is very active in tracking these kind of stuff and here is his possible on the same issue http://www.seroundtable.com/google-nov13-update-17630.html
Please consider!

Could be both.
According to SERoundtable, there were lots of reports of a Google update between the 1st and 5th: http://www.seroundtable.com/google-nov13-update-17630.html
Anyway, is a not-confirmed update so it could also be the disavow file doing its work. If some of the links you disavowed were the reason of the ranking drop, then you actually got those rankings with artificially created links. So don't remove them from the disavow file because of the drop, just focus on getting new ones. How? Content!
Hope that helps!

Why isn't SEOmoz a BBB accredited Business?
I'm just curious. I help run an online resource-based business. Recent'y, I've done a fair amount of research about becoming a BBB accredited business and it all seems to point to it being worth the money. No only for the link, but also for the potential increase in conversion due to the trust that comes along with their brand. It just seems to make good business sense. But I noticed that SEOmoz isn't accredited, and it made me wonder if there was something I wasn't considering? I mean, why wouldn't they want a valuable link like that? Does anyone know anything I don't?

How does Google treat multiple backlinks on the same page?
Hello mozCrew Just a quick yay or nay. We have an embeddable code on our site for customers who want to post our link on their website listed here: http://www.accupos.com/etc/embed-code-restaurants.php But in our link, there are actually 2 separate links, one branding link that says the name of our company, AccuPOS, and another link which targets a specific target keyword "Restaurant POS Software". My question is, does Google only give credit for the branding link, since it is listed FIRST? Or will we get double credit? Is this a good or bad practice, and what would you recommend? Thank you! How often is Linkscape and Open Site Explorer updated?
I ran a report on a URL that needed external links updated several weeks ago. I contacted the webmasters at each site with the outdated external link notifying them of the updated URL. I want to check how many have been updated, so I reran the report. Unfortunately, there are some that I know were updated still showing up on the report with the outdated URL. Any suggestions to get a gauge on how many have been updated?
