How Should I Optimise Feature Images for Google+ Interactive Post Snippets?
-
Hi there, I'm in the middle of optimising my site to create decent sharing snippets to improve the overall experience and quality for visitors.
One thing I've come up against though is trying to balance site design with the requirements of schema.org and Google+
I've recently just altered the layout of my site to now visually display a brief post description to go into the Rich Snippet Google+ creates, but the images Look a little bit shorter than what they could be.
I'm curious to how I could perhaps serve a dedicated image for the Google+ snippet (a square cropped version of the large feature image that's given to each post) while avoiding forcing all users to load a second image I don't even really want to show.
I'm also in the middle of deciding what content to prefill the post text with, I'm thinking about tagging my own Google+ id and maybe using some post relevant hash tags too. Does that sound like a good idea?
Thanks for

UPDATE
I've discovered you can put schema.org meta data into meta tags, just like open graph using the content variable, for example:
-
thanks for pointing this out. I've actually decided for the sake of giving each service the best consistency to use a separate thumbnail for Google using schema, and keep the landscape image for Open Graph, as it looks better in Facebook. The thumbnail is a mere 7Kb in size, and I actually took out a 50Kb font variant after finding it wasn't being used.
Thanks for the advice though

You can use OpenGraph markup for images that you want to use as a preview in Google, but don't want displayed on the page:
Just place that code in the header, and the image will show up as one of the options when you share your link on G+.

Google Plus Company Page Verification
Hi How do you test successful G+ company page/publisher integration/verification if using the less technical methods such as linking between the Home page and the G+ company page instead of adding code to the head section? Since i take it the google structured data testing tool cant work in these cases since no code on the head section ! Is it best to add the code anyway ? I note my clients still not achieving a knowledge graph card/section in the search results for a branded search but i have heard that doesnt come until you have at least hundreds of followers and/or G+ interactions. All Best

Should I be worried about a duplicate content issues between LinkedIn and my blog posts?
I sometimes take my original LinkedIn post and repost it to my blog. Since Google indexes LinkedIn posts, is there any need to worry about duplicate content issues? Or will Google recognize the common author/ownership?

OG meta image showing something different
We are currently in the process of deploying our homepage at www.laserfiche.com , and as part of that, I have added the following meta tags to our homepage: The referenced image should be our company logo, similiar to how Marketo includes there logo as their og:image. However, instead all I am seeing is a pot of yogurt (http://i.imgur.com/EmhRxEY.jpg) when loaded into Facebook. Interestingly this was the image associated with a recent blog post about company culture (http://simplicity.laserfiche.com/content/developing-wholesome-corporate-culture) although this is on a subdomain (legacy decision) and not directly related with the homepage. Any insights would definitely be welcome!

Manual submission vs automated submission to social bookmarking sites for blog posts
Howdy Mozzers! Say we're creating great content on our blog and would like this content to be seen and shared by as many people possible. Should we submit our blog posts manually to social book marking sites or use an automated service like Only Wire? The advantage of using automation is obvious, saves time on submission. Are there disadvantages? Is google bot going to raise an eyebrow and give us a dirty look? Cheers! MozAddict

Content Marketing - what to post on their facebook page
Hello, I'm doing content marketing for an article that is helpful in our industry. When I'm building a relationship with a website, on Facebook I first like their page. Then, I'm liking and sharing a couple of recent posts that stand out and are related to our site. Should I read their recent blog posts and comment on their facebook page thanking them that what I read was helpful while posting a link to their blog post? Or should I post something else on their facebook page? Or should I not post on someone else's facebook page? Thanks.

Google Plus and Large Multiple-Language Website
I work for a corporation who has about 30 international versions of their website. I have an internal question asking me if we (our company) benefits (SEO wise) more from having multiple Google Plus pages or just one. I'm not familiar with how/if Google translates their pages but I'm quite sure someone here is! Is it better to have a Google Plus page for each language or to have one for all languages? We have different websites for each country if that helps.

Same posts on facebook and google+. Is this a problem?
I plan to publish same posts on facebook and google+. As they are in 10 different languages, I would rather not make modifications for facebook and google+ respectively. Do you see any problems with this? Do you think it matters whether I first publish on google+ or first on facebook? Any problem if I publish posts on one social media account which I already published in another social media account for another company of mine some months ago? thanks

How are Google Plus pages related to Google Plus Local pages?
How are Google Plus pages related to Google Plus Local pages and what is the best way to join/link them? e.g. if I go to Starbucks Google Plus page https://plus.google.com/117575809843355974839/posts, where can I see their store locations or google Places pages? If I go to a Google Places page from Google Maps - which now takes you to a Google Plus 'Places' page - how is that Google Plus Places page related to that companies main Google Plus page - I can't see a way to go between them. See: https://plus.google.com/117861970252906134982/about?gl=au&hl=en Is there a way to connect these two kinds of pages for a business?
