Why Keyword is not ranking
-
I have blog website - http://uncutweb.com/
My website ranked for keywords - What Color Shoes To Wear With Gold Dress, Keywords is having Moz Difficulty Score: 35% with A grade moz On page Score.
But why my website is not ranked for What Color Shoes To Wear With Purple Bridesmaid Dress or **What Color Shoes To Wear With Coral Dress???**They have less difficulty score and having A grade.

Domain Authority is a metric that Moz uses, but is not a metric that any search engines use for ranking.

Hi Varun,
You're in a weird space here, because you're competing for very long tail keywords that have a lot of answers via forums. If you have a well-written page that is a part of your website and a decent Domain Authority, you should be able to beat them. However, your site looks very young and doesn't have many backlinks or social shares.
Like Wiqas said, part of this is getting links to pages and social attention. However, reviewing your site, I'm worried that Google won't see your pages as very high quality because:
- You have the header of the page, but not any of the text, above the fold. The majority of the top of the page is either blank space or an ad. This looks like low quality content and will be devalued from Panda.
- You're bolding the keyword that you want to get noticed. This can help if it happens naturally, but when you consistently use a long tail keyword in the page title, the header, the URL, and bolded on the page, it will look spammy.
- You're creating a lot of content that is very similar. When I searched on your site, I found "What Color Shoes to Wear With Gold Dress" and "What Color Shoes To Wear With Gold Sequin Dress." Although the articles are not identical, I wouldn't publish content in such an obviously patterned way.
- You're targeting search terms that are not common grammar. A person would be more likely to search for "what color shoes to wear with a gold dress" or "what color shoes to wear with gold dresses." When Google matches keywords, they'll often ignore grammar words, but I guarantee you, the algorithm will notice that you're not using standard English.
You seem to be churning out a lot of content. It's going to be tough to get all that content to rank if you don't give yourself time to make sure that it's well written and useful, plus, you're setting yourself up to get hit by Google's quality control. I'd advise that you slow down a bit, write each article in a unique and compelling way, and spend some time sharing your site. It may seem like a slower process, but it will pay off in the end!
Good luck!

Keyword Ranking Fluctuations
Hi Guys I am currently working on a website where one of the keyword targets is fluctuating. The keyword is fluctuating between page 2 and page 5. What makes this strange is that we are not experiencing the issue with any other keyword targets. They are all ranking fine. It is only 1 keyword. The keyword target happens to be the main homepage keyword target - not sure if this makes a difference? The homepage targets 2 keyword e.g. Business Offices & Accessories. The homepage ranks perfectly fine for e.g. Business Accessories but is fluctuating for e.g. Business Offices! Very strange. What makes it even stranger - the keyword variations of the fluctuating keyword e.g. office for business - these variations are all fine and not fluctuating. Its only 1 keyword. If anyone has any ideas or feedback that would be great! Thanks, Duncan

Irrelevant blog contents negatively affect ranking for main keywords?
Hi Moz Community, I am working at a branding company. Currently, we found our ranking for main keywords (branding company) is dropping a little. I am suspicious of the new blog posts that we published lately. We wrote different kind of stuff, such as company culture, how to inspire employees, the importance of leadership and some other stuff that is actually not as related to our main keyword - branding company. My question is, will these irrelevant posts hurt our ranking for main keyword, to some extent? Thank you. Best, Raymond

Keyword Strategy for outside of the US
I posted a similar question a while go, so I will attempt to articulate my question a little better.... I am the owner of an E-Commerce site that operates in Canada. I have been brainstorming ways to find opportunities and niches for Canadian online shoppers in an industry that is dominated by corporate American E-commerce sites. I saw another Canadian e-commerce site try to combat this issue, and I wanted to get some advice on whether this strategy is sound. Here is an example. Well.ca is a large e-commerce site in Canada. They take a competitive product like a "Tide Lundry Detergent" and include local and intent terms in their page titles. For example "Buy TideLaundry Detergent from Canada at Well.ca - Free Shipping". If a Canadian shopper searches for "Tide Laundry Detergent", they are going to find results for amazon.com, ebay.com, Tide's website, etc.. I would imagine that Canadian shoppers would start to add terms such as Canada, Buy, or online to try to find Canadian sellers. If that is the case, then Well.ca ranks and arguably serves the customer with those intentions much better. I guess my question is, if the dominant search terms in my industry are polluted with irrelevant or American companies (even in Canada), is this form of localization a good idea? The terms don't seem to be searched much according to any keyword research tool I've used, but I know that I add "canada" to my search terms in order to find Canadian results? Thoughts?

What next to help with my rankings
I'm after a fresh set of eyes and any suggestions to help me with my site on what next I should be doing to help increase rankings. The site is: http://bit.ly/VR6xIm Currently the site is ranking around 9-11th on google.co.uk for it's main term which is the name of the site. The site is around a year old, when it launched it went initially up towards positions 3-5 but has since settled at around where it is now. I have a free tool webmasters can use to implement our speed test into their sites which also includes a link back to our site in it to recognise that we are providing the tool for free, I periodically change the link achor text so it is not always the same anchor text that every site uses. Is there anything obvious I should be doing or that is missing that would help with my rankings? *Just as a note, I am not after a review on the actual speed test on the site, a new one will be developed to help further increase accuracy.

Internal page ranking
If I have a domain: Example.com I want this domain to rank for several keywords. I build a page on the domain called Example.com/glasses If I SEO the page Example.com/glasses with backlinks etc... will that URL come up on google or will it simply bring Example.com up on the SERPS. If I have three keywords, should I make a subpage for each page and SEO that page? Will that make the domain rank for all three keywords?
