Rankings drop since switch to https
-
Switched hosting companies, and then switched to https for the entire marketing site as a result of needing the security for the signups. Rankings in several (most areas) have tanked since then. Site hasn't changed otherwise, is responsive, fast, and spidered well. See:
I FEEL like the redirection is being handled properly, but I can't be sure. Moz reporting duplicate content on the homepage between http and https - but I honestly don't know why.
Any help - ANY - is appreciated. Hair being pulled out, and I don't think I'll look good completely bald.

Can you explain why? I've looked around a lot on this, and there doesn't seem to be much agreement about it. https isn't costing anything with respect to performance, so why not do it?
I'll happily remove it from all the pages where it isn't required if its really making a difference.

OK - think it's fixed now. But could that possibly have been the issue for ALL the site rankings?
Thanks for this help by the way. Going to refer some friends to you ASAP for help if that's OK. They have zero technical skill, so they need direct help. And to be charged, of course.

After reviewing pisoftware.com, you only need https for the Login/Signup page. Why the hell would you need https for other web-pages as they are only "informational" pages; there's no transactions or sensitive information on them.
Putting the entire site in https is just a bad idea.

Kelly, I'm not seeing a redirect from the http version to the https: version. So these two sites are going to be seen as copies! ALl the internal links (on both versions) are pointing to the https: version though.
Think you need to take a look at the http: -> https: redirection.
This http request/response header checker is a useful way to test.for redirects etc: http://web-sniffer.net/
How have you tried to implement the redirection?

Ecommerce product rankings tank when procuct out of stock
When checking our weekly ranking update this morning I noticed that several products where down 2-3 pages (or even dropped from the first 50) from last week. Looking through these products, they share one common trait: these pages are for products that are no longer available or are temporarily out of stock (and have been for the last few weeks). I understand Google is looking at bounce rates, but do they also looks at our website (or Schema markup) to see if the product is in stock or not? We also use Google Shopping to they should have a pretty good understanding of our stock levels and the general availability of our products. If it's just a question of bounce rates, we could switch to pre-orders for our products (we don't take any order for out-of-stock products at the moment) or we could offer the more expensive versions with a discount. If Google is looking at inventory status, we could disable this to keep ranking high and increase our search presence. Any drawbacks on this? Just getting back in the SEO-game after a focus on the business processes so I could use some help here. We seen great improvements where we've stepped up and created great product descriptions, but it is really disheartening seeing products get dropped so easily.

Higher PA and DA but lower ranking?
I am having problem with my product pages not ranking as high as I would expect them to be. http://i.imgur.com/z3aTwUG.png (or see attachement) This is an example. The fact that competitor C is on position 4 stupifies me. At what areas should I be looking? z3aTwUG.png

Will changing a site from https to normal http have any SEO impact if we do automatic redirects?
We currently have a site which uses https and want to change to normal http only (for reasons unrelated to SEO). We were planning to do this with a change in our server configuration (we use Nginx, and can automatically redirect https to http). Our site has been around for approx 1 year, so there are links floating around in the Internet which will still be using https. These will be automatically redirected to http. What will be the impact on our SEO? I understand that our webmaster tools account may need to change...

Ranked page is not desired page
I have a question on a problem I am currently faced with. There is a certain keyword that my employer wants to rank for. The good news is that sometimes it does rank in the top 5 pages of Google. (It drops in and out) The bad news is that it is going to a page that we need to keep, but not the ideal place we want people who are looking for that keyword to go to. I was wondering if anyone has had any experience with this type of situation and what tactic they used to get people to the better page.

Moving Top rank Page urls off my Home page and nesting them on one page? Good idea?
I am basically trying to cut down the amount of links on my home page to make it less eye boggling and move stuff around. So i have of my Urls on my home page that lead to pages that rank very well within google. My questions is can i remove those urls to a separate page to group them together and then showcase that one link to that page on my home page. Is that a good idea or i am going to loose my link juice and position in search? The physical urls on those pages wont change at all.

I have two pages ranking for the same keyword.
The index page and the targeted landing page for that keyword. They have different content, title, meta but I am competing with myself for the main keyword in the industry. What is the best way to fix this? 301 the keyword page to the index page?

Does reading grade level affect rankings? What level should I write for?
Search engines measure the reading level of your page. But how does it affect ranking? Should I be aiming more for a low or high Flesch–Kincaid grade level?

What is important for page rank?
I have heard quality is the most important factor for page rank but after the 7 Nov 11 PR update I am no longer a believer. The PR on my home page dropped from 4 to 3 and the rest of my inside pages remained the same even though I have added a significant amount of content since the previous update and kept it fresh. Any thoughts on this most recent PR update?
