Moving image directory location on redesign.
-
I'm getting ready to do a redesign for a client and one thing that annoys me about the directory structure of the website is that he has files buried deep in the directories. For example, the images are buried like four folders deep in some cases and I would like to move all of those images into an images folder directly below the root. All of those images, however, have already been indexed by google and show up in google images.
If I start moving those images around, could it hurt his rankings?
-
If the images are being indexed just fine, even though they are "four folders deep", why would you change that? It would be like trying to fix something that is working perfectly, you may end up with something you didn't expect... (reindexing all images could remove them from the index for a while... it won't do any harm, but as you said, they are just fine where they are now).
Hope that helps!

Moving a blog from Blogger
A client just setup word press. They have a ton of content on their blogger account. Today they stated they were moving the content to their blog. My knee jerk response is to leave it where it is. I am posting this question to re affirm my position. Unless there are some pro's to moving this over.

Multilingual Website - Sub-domain VS Sub-directory
Hi Folks - Need your advice on the pros and cons of going with a sub-domain vs a sub-directory approach for a multi lingual website. The best would be a ccTLD but that is not possible now, so I would be more interested in knowing your take on these 2 options. Though, I have gone through http://www.stateofsearch.com/international-multilingual-sites-criteria-to-establish-seo-friendly-structure/ and this somewhat vouches for a sub-directory, but what would you say'?

Rel="author" showing old image
I'm using http://www.google.com/webmasters/tools/richsnippets to test my rel="author" tag which was successful, but I noticed I wanted to change my image in Google+ as it is not what I want. I changed my image in Google+, it's been over 14 hours now and still not showing the new picture using the RichSnippets tool. I know Google can take a couple weeks at least to show changes in search results, but this RichSnippet tool I thought was immeidate. Am I missing something here or am I just impatient? I want my new photo to show.

Any input / pointers for my upcoming Ecommerce move?
I posted this as a reply on my other question, but never got another responce... I am basically moving ecommerce platforms to answer your question. I am keep the same domain (www.stbands.com). If you want to get even more specific i am moving from storesonline to corecommerce. Here's some more info: All meta tags, URLS, content is virtually going to be the same except my product pages and normal pages will end with .html, however my category pages will still be /categoryname (like a directory). My category URLS seem to build in a mod re-write fashion, which I hear is better for SEO (like /sweatbands/head-sweatbands/). I have set all my pages to use the rel=cananical tag, so if you are on the category /sweatbands/head-sweatbands/ it cananicals back to /head-sweatbands The images are changing names as I upload them on a product because it auto creates new sizes. This differs from our old host and may affect our vertical image rankings. Should I 301 the image URLS? I am keeping the www. in my domain name, as opposed to just domain.com to keep everything the same. CoreCommerce automatically seems to make my products uppercase in the URL as they are in the title, but the url works both lowercase and uppercase so its not case sensitive. This is just an overview of some things I think I have most of my bases covered, but i'm aiming for a april 1st launch / move for the new site. Do you guys have any other pointers / suggestions?
