Adding too many new pages at once - will it be seen as spammy
-
I have a database of around 10,000 business I want to list on my directory.
My problem has been that my people have been adding to the database for over a year, but due to my hosting limitations adding them, caused my site to crash.
I have now got this sorted, would going from 1,000 urls listed to over 11,000 may Google think I am trying to spam them.
Would it be worth while dripping them in over time, or just adding them all at once.
Any advice appreciated, Thanks

I have released 10's of thousands of pages at once on many occasions on multiple sites and never had an issue. Why should there be an issue? If the content is good then Google wants it.
If its poor low quality content then you are feeding Panda and it will take an overview of the total quality of the site and then slap you. So decide how useful all of that content is and why you want it all indexed.
You could even deploy all the content at once and set some categories to noindex and change them bit by bit to see the effects. I think Panda runs about once a month right now so you will need to be a little patient to see overall results.

Hey Ahalliday,
I have seen huge structured-data driven sites with 100k+ pages set online at once to no detrimental effect, but I wouldn't do it. Generally speaking you should be save to start with half and see what happens.
What I would suggest is that you split your pages by categories / types or whatever seems appropriate and list each type in its own distinct sitemap.xml . When you turn in the sitemaps in the webmaster tools you can see the indexation by those categories / types. Any low indexation % might be a hint that the pages are indeed spam and not worth indexing.

Hi,
If you have a site that had a large volume of pages already, and you were to release 10,000, it might not be as much of an issue, but I would suggest that only having about 1,000, you drop feed these over a period of time. To add them in a rush might cause you issues.
There are never any guarantees that issues might arise if you add them all in one go, but it certainly isn't something I would suggest doing.

Best practice for Wordpress /page/2/
I realize that it might be a minor point but it still bugs me. We have a blog with a number of posts. Content of the posts does not expire or age (in the rare case something changes, we do update the information in the posts). The wordpress blog is setup to display our latest posts and displays 15 posts at once. Since we have a lot of content, the older posts get pushed off the front page which is understandable and desirable behavior. However the pages that have older posts have names like "/page/2/", /page/3/, /page/4/ and so on. This does not look very SEO or user friendly to me. What do you think? Did you come up with something better then /page/ and then a number?

Knowledge base for seo, announcing new articles on blog (dupe content)
Hi all, Im thinking of creating a knowledge base with all many asked questions in my company. This could be a great Link-bait source but also nice ranking opportunities i think. But sometimes some new articles are so actual that i also want to blog them.

Can a rel author tag point to a Google+ business page
I’m trying to get my blog posts to show with rich snippets but they are a collaborative effort from our staff and as such are posted under our business name. We do have some guest bloggers who write under their own name and we use the author tags to show this. Is there a similar way to do this with a business?

Anyone have a collection or list of spammy websites?
Random I know. I started a fun pet project at www.me-not-spammer.info. Total spam. Totally says it's not spam. Satire and all, something only SEO people will get really. Anyway I want to make a sidebar of other "not spammers" and need to find a bunch of spammy websites. Problem is they don't rank in search engines obviously so I know of only the ones who leave comments on some of my wordpress sites. Anyone have a list of a bunch of them so I can link to them in my blogroll?

Hit With Panda, How Should I block pages?
Hello! I believe Ive been hit with Panda, I have a large Ecommerce site with literally thousands of pages, but working on adding custom content daily. Should I block pages that have duplicated copy, that dynamically insert a product/artist/team name? Will this help with my huge ranking drop? If so after this has been done should I send a request reconsideration to google? Or will it just happen automatically? I believe this is a algo penalty and not manual, as I have not received any messages in my Webmaster. Any help would be greatly appreciated!! Thank You!

FAQ page to target "long tail keywords".
I'm wondering if there is any benefit to creating a FAQ section on a website for the purpose of ranking for long tail keywords. If so, are there best practices in the way that the page is structured? Also, would doing this just help me rank the FAQ page for these terms or would it also help more critical pages on my website, such as homepage, contact, about, etc... which do not contain these keywords.
