Link in my blog to external pages - no follow?

Hi everyone.
I'm quite new to SEO (started 6 months ago, but I'm very lucky to work the company that is willing to pay while I'm learning).
I also create some content for the website - I write wood flooring industry blog.
Following some advise from few SEO experts around the world whom I follow I have decided to write 1-2 off topic blogs/month but I have found the way of writing off topic but in reality bringing together wood flooring industry and let's say fashion industry.
My question is - if I want to link to one or two pages (let's say bug fashion brands) shall I use no-follow link?
I do not want to harm my website or theirs. Can those type of posts be the part of building my position within my industry and in general, building authority of my website? Of course appart from getting links TO my website.

There are only three reasons to no-follow a link, Tom.
- The link is untrusted - e.g. User-generated content like blog comments or forums
- The link is being paid for or is otherwise part of a business arrangement (this is a little broader - can include large-scale guest-posting and press releases)
- In specific cases to help manage crawl budget for a site (note: NOT to be used to try to manage flow of "linkjuice" internally through a site)
Anything other than these uses could actually cause overuse of no-follow to make your own site look spammy/questionable.

Hi Tom,
Question, are the sites you linking to relevant to the post or your industry? How are you bringing wood flooring industry and let's say fashion industry together in the post. If you are explaining how wood flooring and how it's affected by the fashion industry or something related, then there is no harm using follow links and it makes sense to link to the fashion site.
However, if the sites you are linking to are irrelevant to the post, i would not link to it in the first place. You should only link to other sites/pages only if it helps your readers understand more about the subject or anything relevant.

You can safely have follow link to other websites in your blog posts. However, as a general rule, the anchor text links should be on the brand names of the companies you are linking to. These links should not be reciprocal or paid links.

50,000 pages or a page with parameters
I have a site with about 12k pages on a topic... each of these pages could use another several pages to go into deeper detail about the topic. So, I am wondering, for SEO purposes would it be better to have something like 50,000 new pages for each sub topic or have one page that I would pass parameters to and the page would be built on the fly in code behind. The drawback to the one page with parameters is that the URL would be static but the effort to implement would be minimal. I am also not sure how google would index a single page with parameters. The drawback to the 50k pages model is the dev effort and possibly committed some faux pas by unleashing so many links to my internal pages. I might also have to mix aspx with html because my project can't be that large. Anyone here ever have this sort of choice to make? Is there a third way I am not considering?

Too Many On-Page Links?
How much would this affect my page ranks performance? There are many Too Many On-Page Links? warning on my campaign. should I address this issue right away to fix it or leave it as it would not matter seriously ? I've looked at some of the pages and think all of them are necessary. Could someone help me? Thanks!

Paging Links Code - Best Way?
Currently we are using previous 1 2 3 next for our link to other inventory pages, with some variation of this javascript code javascript:__doPostBack('ctl00$phMain$dlPagesTop$ctl01$lnkPageTop','') . Can search engines even index the other pages with this javascript? Is there a better way to do this?

Properly Moving Blog from Index to its Own Page
Right now I have a website that is exclusively a blog. I want to create pages outside of the blog and move the blog to a page other than the index file e.g.) from domain.com to domain.com/blog I will have the blog post pages stay in the root directory. e.g.) domain.com/blog-post Any suggestions how to properly tell SE's and other websites that the blog has moved?

Could Having Blog Posts as Home Page Cause Keyword Dilution?
Something I've never been a fan of is having a blog as the home page of a site. I've always thought that it's a bit like walking into someone's house through the kitchen out back.

If it's a vistors first time, it can be a little disconcerting or ackward even if they are not familiar with the writers style. But something just dawned on me, and I'd love a second opinion on this. For websites that focus on multiple keywords (in my most of my client's case it's usually a mix of Wedding Photography, Engagement Photography, Portrait Photography, Family Photography, etc). A lot of these clients will include the photos in a blog post along with a snippet of text that may talk about the people they're photographing and maybe a bit about where they photographed. But they're usually optimizing for the overarching keyword (Wedding... Portrait..., etc as per above). Now I'm wondering if having three or 5 posts on the home page, where most of them are focusing on a specific keyword like New York Wedding Photographer, is actually diluting the keyword they are trying to rank for. My theory is that if I have them move their blog to a domain.com/blog, and solely focus on the desired keyword on the home page, that they would do substantially better in the SERPs. Any value in external links to image files?
Let's say you have www.example.com. On this website, you have www.example.com/example-image.jpg. When someone links externally to this image - like below... { is < {a href="www.example.com/example-image.jpg"} {img src="www.example.com/example-image.jpg"} {/a} The external site would be using the image hosted on your site, but the image is also linked back to the same image file on your site. Does this have any value even though the link is back to the image file and not the website? Also - how much value do you guys feel image links have in relation to tech links? In terms of passing link juice and adding to a natural link profile. Thanks!
