Infinite scroll SEO
-
I was curious about the implications of Infinite scroll homepages on SEO, and more specifically, no-indexing subpages of the homepage (ie www.homepage.com/page/2/ ).
I know its often a good practice to noindex subpages of archives, but in this case, would it be a bad idea?
Thanks!

Infinite scroll is fine for SEO, as long as you include code that forces a unique URL at a certain point in the scroll, to emulate a new page.
Now - if you have that on category pages, and thus provide a crawlable, indexable group of pages with proper pagination best practices, you don't need that on the home page. The key though is you need at least one proper way for search bots to get to all your content through HTML links.
If you don't have separate categories, and if the home page links are the only way to get to that content, then having page 2, page 3 is critical - and should not be blocked from search bots for crawling or indexing.

SEO for Online Auto Parts Store
I'm currently doing an audit for an online auto parts store and am having a hard time wrapping my head around their duplicate content issue. The current set up is this: The catalogue starts with the user selecting their year of vehicle They then choose their brand (so each of the year pages have listed every single brand of car, creating duplicate content) They then choose their model of car and then the engine And then this takes them to a page listing every type/category of product they sell (so each and every model type/engine size has the exact same content!) This is amounting to literally thousands of pages being seen as duplicates It's a giant mess. Is using rel=canonical the best thing to do? I'm having a hard time seeing a logical way of structuring the site to avoid this issue. Anyone have any ideas?

Onpage SEO before Offpage?
Hi there, I want to ask why should a website first have Onpage optimization and after that Offpage optimization or Link building/earning? I have read that this is better, even obligatory in many articles but I am not sure for the reason and benefits of that. Can at least social media optimization start at the same time or at the middle of the Onpage optimization?

SEO Structure - Best Advice
Hi Mozzers, I'm wondering if I need to tweak my SEO friendly URL structure slightly. Example: http://www.vintageheirloom.com/vintage-celine/celine-bags would this be better for SEO if it was: http://www.vintageheirloom.com/vintage-celine/bags Perhaps the repetition of 'celine' is unnecesary, but OpenCart ecommerce CMS requires a plugin / modification to enable multiple use of a single term like e.g. 'bags'. Any benefit for $30? Thanks!

SEO capability on web pages v blog posts
firstly, apologies if this is a daft question, I am very new to this! We are about to launch a new website (very exciting) and our CEO is mad about incorprating a "tag cloud" because it looks good! Our web designer therefore has to convert all our web pages to "posts" in order for the tag cloud to pick up the "tagged" words associated with the specific pages (soon to be posts). Question: With regards to SEO, will the change from "web page" to "post" have any positive or negative effects? Thanks in advance
