Should I keep knowitall.biz domain name?
-
Basically wondering whether or not to keep this domain or start SEO with a new domain.
The product is a tool that is somewhat comparable to evernote. Basically you can use this instead of searching your email (inefficent, and badly designed for storing personal/biz info). It is a tool that we developed in house for ourselves before evernote was around.
At this point I need to figure out which keywords to target, so any suggestions with that would be much appreciated too!!

Hi there
I wrote a pretty indepth answer for a similar question that you can read here.
TL;DR - Rand also has a great Whiteboard Friday post on this subject called Should I Rebrand and Redirect My Site? Should I Consolidate Multiple Sites/Brands?
Hope this helps! Good luck!

Business Naming Standards
I have a client whose business name can be abbreviated. In the previous version of the website they referenced all 3 naming standards. We are in the process of setting up a new website and my question is - do we use one name throughout the website or incorporate the other abbreviations to catch all options?

Should I keep subpages for item types or condense information all on one page?
So I have 6 big selling item types for our company, it's our bread and butter, now we have subsections for these different types, from cleaning to instructions. We rank number one for various longtail keywords, however, for the two word keyphrase we want to rank for, we don't seem to get passed rank 30 / page 3 for. Am curious since the long tail keywords for the subpages seem to not garner that much traffic if we should be combining all the subpages to just one item type page and optimize from there for the item type keyword ( a 5 word phrase ) This is for a niche industry, and the major keywords we want are two word phrases that have around an average of 48% keyword difficulty with. They're really no other synonyms to use for these, none that customers are using, and figuring out a plan to rank on page 1 for this phrase is proving difficult to say the least. Progress is achieved, however it's just dropping back once we see the change, without much interaction from myself. I understand this is due to the bottom of the bucket characteristics but there must be more I can be doing. Besides being as general as possible when posting questions here. 🙂 Thanks for any feedback and even crystal ball guesses.

Creating a Domain Specific Keyword Difficulty Score
Moz's Keyword Difficulty tool is great. Minus one thing... it does't take the domain itself into it's equation. Of course it doesn't take a lot of other things into consideration too like relevancy of domain but lets at least start with adding domain authority to the equation. I've come up with simple math that allows you to take the domain authority of the target URL into consideration. The Equation KD = Moz Keyword Difficulty
Keyword Research | | eyeflow
DA = Domain Authority
DS = Domain Specific Keyword Difficulty (KD/DA)*KD = DS Equation Applied URL: atari.com
Keyword: classic video games
KD: 69
DA: 77
DS: 62 (69/77)*69=62 You will end up with numbers larger than 100, but it makes sense. If your domain authority is 10 and you're trying to compete with a difficulty of 90 then you should be scared to compete for that term and the number should reflect that. Thoughts? Other ideas?2 -

Is 15 keywords enough to properly optimize content for an entire domain?
I have recently moved in charge of a 95 page web portal that has around 8 categories of content. The SEO agency I am touch with has sent me a proposal that says they will do on-page optimization for this domain for 15 keywords. Should that be enough? What should be my expected outcome? My promise to the client is that core pages from his website will show up early on the SERPs. If they can do this, I am fine with it. Do you think I am getting the right deal? Should I be asking for more?

Page Authority & Domain Authority for dummies
Can someone explain me what is this? I just ran a keyword difficulty report for my keyword "refurbished printers", we are not in the top 10, and I see a table with 4 columns: page authority, Page Linking Root Domains, Domain Authority, Root Domain Linking Root Domains I have many questions here: 1. The bigger the number the better? 2. The most green the better? What about the red in the last 2 columns? 3, How can I improve an specific page to rank there and improve these numbers? 4. What does it mean the green check next to some numbers? Thanks
