Sharepoint SEO - How to lowercase urls with rewrite rules?

We have a borked website running on sharepoint IIS .net that has been at the mercy of many bad developers
We have rewrite rules with an ini file for 301s etc. We are struggling to find out or figure out how to lowercase them
The lowercase functionality may be native within sharepoint somewhere
Any help appreciated! Sorry its so vague

Here's how to achieve what you need through an IIS URL Rewrite:
<rewrite><rules><rule name="ForceLowercase" stopprocessing="false"><match url=".[A-Z]." ignorecase="false"><action type="Redirect" redirecttype="Permanent" url="{ToLower:{R:0}}"></action></match></rule></rules></rewrite>
Translation: If the URL contains any uppercase letters, convert it to all lowercase, then continue processing other rules. (You can name the rule whatever you want.)
These rewrite rules are stored either in the ApplicationHost.config file or in Web.config files. More info and step-by step instructions: creating IIS URL Rewrites.
Note: Compared to the [ISAPI_Rewrite] filters (httpd.ini), I've found that the IIS URL Rewrite (web.config) rules seem to match the syntax of Apache more often. As a result, it's easier to find RegEx expressions already written for what you need. It also helps to focus on debugging the actual code versus some strange IIS exception. Good luck!

Some update from the dev
We’re using IIS6 and Ionic Isapi filter
There are some instruction I found on a forum that do the lowercase redirect
Finally, downcase as necessary. If there are any
uppercase characters in the URL, apply this rule.
RewriteCond %{url} [A-Z]+
RedirectRule ^(.*)$ #L$1#E [R=301]

Folders in url structure?
Hello, Revamping an out-of-date website and am wondering if I need to include the folders (categories) in the url structure? The proposed structure has 8 main folders. I've been reading that Google is ok if the folder is not included in the url, but is it really? The hesitation I have is that the urls are getting long and the main folder only has only a sub folder beneath it. So, /folder-name/facility-name/treatment-overview. This looks too long, doesn't it? Thanks!

Same URL for languages sub-directories
Hi All, I have a main domain and 9 different subdirectories for languages, example: www.example.com/page.html www.example.com/uk/page-uk.html www.example.com/es/page-es.html we are implementing hreflang tags for the languages, but we are thinking to get rid of the dashes on the languages URL: -uk or -es, so it will be: www.example.com/page.html www.example.com/uk/page.html www.example.com/es/page.hrml would this be a problem? to have same page names even if they are in different subdirectories? would we need to add canonical tags, at lease for the main domain URLs? www.kornferry.com/page.html Thank you, Rachel

How do I deindex url parameters
Google indexed a bunch of our URL parameters. I'm worried about duplicate content. I used the URL parameter tool in webmaster to set it so future parameters don't get indexed. What can I do to remove the ones that have already been indexed? For example, Site.com/products and site.com/products?campaign=email have both been indexed as separate pages even though they are the same page. If I use a no index I'm worried about de indexing the product page. What can I do to just deindexed the URL parameter version? Thank you!

Url folder structure
I work for a travel site and we have pages for properties in destinations and am trying to decide how best to organize the URLs basically we have our main domain, resort pages and we'll also have articles about each resort so the URL structure will actually get longer:

URL - Well Formed or Malformed
Hi Mozzers, I've been mulling over whether my URLs could benefit a little SEO tweaking. I'd be grateful for your opinion. For instance, we've a product, a vintage (second hand), red Chanel bag. At the moment the URL is: www.vintageheirloom.com/vintage-chanel-bags/2.55-bags/red-2.55-classic-double-flap-bag-1362483150 Broken down... vintage-chanel-bags = this is the main product category, i.e. vintage chanel bags 2.55-bags = is a sub category of the main category above. They are vintage Chanel 2.55 bags, but I've not included 'vintage' again. 2.55 bags are a type of Chanel bag. red-2.55-classic-double-flap-bag = this is the product, the bag **1362483150 **= this is a unique id, to prevent the possibility of duplicate URLs As you no doubt can see we target, in particular, the phrase **vintage. **The actual bag / product title is: Vintage Chanel Red 2.55 classic double flap bag 10” / 25cm With this in mind, would I be better off trying to match the product name with the end of the URL as closely as possible? So a close match below would involve not repeating 'chanel' again: www.vintageheirloom.com/chanel-bags/2.55-bags/vintage-red-2.55-classic-double-flap-bag or an exact match below would involve repeating 'chanel': www.vintageheirloom.com/chanel-bags/2.55-bags/vintage-chanel-red-2.55-classic-double-flap-bag This may open up more flexibility to experiment with product terms like second hand, preowned etc. Maybe this is a bad idea as I'm removing the phrase 'vintage' from the main category. Does Bitly hurt your SEO?
I often use bit.ly or Google URL shortener in links when other websites post my articles so I can track clicks. However, I am thinking this may HURT my SEO given that it is taking away a back link to my website. Is that logic correct ? If so, what is a good way to be able to track clicks if a website posts your article without jeopardizing the SEO value?
