Migrate site from HTML to Wordpress and retain SEO
-
Hi guys this is a 2 part question so hoping someone is able to assist!
I own the www.industrytix.com.au/ website which ive been updating manually in Dreamweaver for last 6+ years, it has very high Organic Rankings for most of my targeted keywords which are:
industry tix
Industry tickets
breakfest tickets
Stereosonic tickets
CUban Club tickets
etc etc - essentially names of eventsIm currently about 90% of the way through replicating/improving the content of the website using a Wordpress Theme which is located at www.industrytix.com.au/buy-tickets/ so all the URLs/Sites are currently running concurrently. Im using Eventum Theme for hosting events and Woocommerce plugin for products so there is a slighy disconnect between the 'Event Page' and 'Buy tickets/Product page"
**For example:
Event page: **http://industrytix.com.au/buy-tickets/breakfest-perth/ Ticket/product page: http://industrytix.com.au/buy-tickets/product/breakfest-ticket-perth/Next step is to kill off the old outdated homepage and recirrect all the event pages to the new ones - for retaining SEO value is there a best practices for completing this? (I am planning to move the New WP Installation into the root folder from the /buy-tickets/ folder where its currently staged.
For example of OLD to NEW redirrection requirements:
OLD http://www.industrytix.com.au/cuban-club-perth-tickets.php
NEW http://industrytix.com.au/buy-tickets/cuban-club-perth-nyd/OLD http://www.industrytix.com.au/breakfest-tickets.php
NEW EVENT PAGE http://industrytix.com.au/buy-tickets/breakfest-perth/
Nicket/product page: http://industrytix.com.au/buy-tickets/product/breakfest-ticket-perth/Any other feedback improvements as far as retaining SEO and not keyword stuffing etc?
Thanking you all in advance for taking the time to read this

Direct 301's to the same pages on new format. Submit a sitemap with the old URL's, and submit to Google- this will encourage Google to 'see' the 301 redirects. Once those are crawled, be sure to submit a new sitemap, this reinforces the changes.

Hi Sandi,
Please use 301 redirects from migrating from old urls to new urls. As this will intimate the search engines that the old url is migrated to new url permanently. Earlier i have migrated my word press blog (http://ifsc-codes.in) to asp.net website to maintain dynamic content and huge data. At that time am not sure about this setting and i have almost nullified my Google crawl rate and no organic visitors. After that i have realized how much importent factor is this. So i did some coding techniques to address 301 redirection and right now it is getting better. Use your robots.txt file to redirect these urls. Note: Please use 302 if this migration is temporary. Try to create categories to retain old urls if possible. Hope this will use full.

SEO benefits/drawbacks of physical address on site.
Simple question - how much of an SEO impact does NOT having a physical address on your site make? I run a photography business based from home. For security reasons I don't really want our home address easily available to the public. I have a Google Maps listing (actually seem to have two at the moment, but that's a different matter) and the full address is logged there but is not viewable publicly - just the surrounding area. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Migration Strategy
Hi guys, Just want to check on this site migration strategy. Basically we have an Australian based ecommerce site which is going to launch globally. The company has two site. One is (http://www.domainUS.com – for US market) and one is Australian based (http://www.domain.com.au). Basically the plan is to have one single global .com site (like ASOS.com) on a new domain which would be domain.com and put both the current http://www.domainUS.com (US VERSION) and http://www.domain.com.au (AUSTRALIAN VERSION) on the new domain: domain.com (global) To make it even more complicated the new global domain (domain.com) is in the process of being purchased (someone else has the domain) and won’t be available till January 2016. But the company wants to execute the new global setup in November 2015 temporary on the .com.au version The current migration plan is to create two different sub-folders one for US e.g. http:www.domain.com.au/us and one for AUD http://www.domain.com/au on the current domain Australian domain.com.au for the global launch in November 2015. Then once domain.com is ready in January 2016, then migrate to domain.com with the countries as sub-folder (as shown below in stage 3). I was wondering if you guys think this would be an ideal migration strategy given the circumstances. So I have the home, also a blog but then the rest of the pages are let's say it "hidden".How would you do the seo for it? I have been cheking facebook, foursquare and some others and they use different approaches. Facebook uses the same description in every single page for example. My site is similar to foursquare users have profile, stats, history, ranking. Well, what is your advice?? Thanks a lot
