Backlinks not showing on Open Site Explorer's Just-Discovered Links
-
Hi guys! My name is Edgar.
I've recently been adding a bunch of backlinks to the site i work for, and most of them have a very high DA (DA > 80. Wohoo!). Nevertheless i'm often feel a bit frustrated when i check my site with the OSE, because just a few part of these links are showed in the just-discovered section, although i created them few days ago.
So, i would like to know why is this happening, how long it take for my links to get crawled, and when can i stop getting frustrated on this?
Than you very much!
Edgar.

Hi Edgar,
Dmytro is correct, these tools aren't 100% accurate, they're just used to give you an indication of volume and quality.
I suspect the main reason for this is the sheer volume of websites out there. To provide 100% accurate backlink data, they'd have to be crawling billions of pages every single day to detect new/lost links. It's not uncommon for a new link to take anywhere from a couple of days to 3 or 4 months to show up.
As a general rule, the more popular a site (think New York Times, not a high-traffic spam directory), the faster your link will be seen, though not necessarily.

Hi Edgar,
Open Site Explorer is not always 100% accurate, as well as other platforms (e.g. SEM Rush, Majestic, SimilarWeb and so forth). Furthermore, it does take time for links to appear on Open Site Explorer. I personally see Open Site Explorer as a great comparison/link opportunity tool, which allows you to see rough figures.
You can always use Google Search Console to see links that point to your site.
Thanks,

Open Site Explorer Messge - Mysite.com redirects to www.mysite.com
Hello All, When I plug in my site's URL http://mysite.com ( Not my actual URL of-course) into the OpenSiteExplorer tool I get the following message: "You entered the URL http://Mysite.com which redirects to http://www.Mysite.com/.

Because it's likely to have more accurate metrics, we're showing data for the redirected URL instead.
Click here to analyze http://Mysite.com instead?" Not sure why I am getting this message. On my hosting server, I have defined my preferred domain to be the non-www. version. I have also used a Canonical Tag on Mysite.com/index.html file ( ). In addition, on Google Search Console ( Webmaster Tools ) , I have added both the www. and non-www. properties, where on both property settings, I have defined the non-www. version as my preferred one. Also, on my server, I have not implemented any 301 redirects at all. So my questions are: Why am I receiving this message when plugging in my non-www. URL version of my website into OpenSiteExplorer? Is my DA or PA possibly being split up between the two versions as a result? Should I be concerned? How can I fix this? Thanks in advance.0 -
Really slow to load results on Open Explorer and "error fetching your data" messages
Hi, I am new to Moz and I'm finding using Open Explorer a real pain and frustrating, not only is it really slow, but for the past couple of days I've been getting "error fetching your data" messages when trying to show links etc. Is this just generally what its like or is there another problem?

How to check what websites your website is linking to
We recently transitioned away from a third party website using a different domain. A lot of our blog posts still link to this domain. Is there a tool offered by Moz that crawls your website and provides a report of all websites that your website is linking to?

A simple count (with list if possible) of the external and internal links on a website
Dear Moz Community, I am trying to find a way to easily analyse a website (http://uk.chm-cbd.net) to determine the number of internal and external hyperlinks throughout the (roughly) 490 webpages within the site. It would also be extremely helpful to have a list of all the links with their url. Does anyone know of a tool, methodology to do this? If it requires a lot of programming then that does not help me very much as I am not very computer literate!! So a software to download or an online service would be very helpful. Open Site Explorer seems to be limited, such that I would have to do an analysis on each page within the website. BUT, if anyone knows how I can do using OSE, then please tell me. Thanks in advance to anyone who may be able to help Hugh

OnPage Grader double counting keywords on responsive site (hidden vs visible)
FYI - it appears that if you have a responsive site that has blocks of text that are duplicated, but Hidden or Visible depending on the screen width, that On-Page Grader will count any keywords in that text twice. I have text shown in one location to Desktop users that needed to be re-located to a different part of the page for Tablet and Phone users to keep the layout nice. And my OP Grader keyword count doesn't match what I saw on the page doing Ctrl-F to find the keywords, unless you count the Hidden text. (not hidden like cloaking or some black hat thing - just not displayed on certain devices) I guess On Page Grader just reads the source code and ignores whether the text is hidden or visible. It would be nice if it read the code as if it was a Desktop device. (suggestion for Moz staff) Does anybody know if Google also ignores device dependent Hidden vs Visible areas???
