Change in OSE?
-
Hi
My site http://sassandgrace.co.uk has a 301 direct from the www. version as recommended and, up until last week, OSE showed no results for the www version with a message of some kind saying about the re-direct.
This week the message has disappeared and I have half my links (still v small) on www version and half on the non version.
Has something changed? Should I be worried? And what, if anything, should I do?
Thanks

Hi Sam,
First of all, congrats on the lovely site
DON'T PANIC!
OSE does not represent live results as it is linked to the Mozscape Index, which updates about once a month (There was on update on Jan 26th and the next one is due around Feb 28th).
Discussed here: https://moz.com/help/guides/research-tools/open-site-explorer/updates
For latest and pending update information, go here: https://moz.com/products/api/updates
If you want to do a quick check to see whether your site is showing for both www and non-www variants, do a search for:
**site:sassandgrace.co.uk **(with no spaces)
and you'll see what Google has indexed.
Interestingly, there is one reference within Google's results for the www. version:
**www.sassandgrace.co.uk/blog-detail.html **which is a remnant from development as it contains lorem ipsum text.
If the redirects have been created manually it's easy to see why this would be overlooked.
Best practice would be to create a global redirect rule from the www to non-www. version of your site.
Read this for some solid best practices when dealing with redirects: https://moz.com/learn/seo/redirection
You can also indicate that non-www. version is your preferred version of the site in Google Search Console.
That stray page aside, I'd have no concerns. Check back in OSE after the next update and see if everything hasn't settled down.
Good Luck!

Is OSE having problems?
The healthpage says it is operational but I'm getting a ton of 'There was an error getting your data' messages. First I thought, it just happens to smaller pages, since testing it with moz.com worked. But even pages like nbc.com give me this error. I tried logging out an in again and even swithcing browsers - without success. Anyone else having problems like this right now? Cheers, Chris

Can't see the link I earned from Moz in OSE
Hi Mozzers, A month ago I got the nofollow tag removed from the first custom link on my Moz profile but I can't see this in our links on OSE? SEO Spyglass shows it just fine. Is this related to the delays in the back end of Moz or have I set up my profile wrong? Cheers! Jamie

How long will it take for the changes we've made to reflect in Moz OSE spam score data?
I signed up for Moz to see the spam flags our site had triggered. As soon as I found out, we worked on it and have been trying to correct our mistakes but it's been more than a month and we've managed to neutralise zero flags. I would appreciate if someone can clarify how long the OSE data takes to refresh. Also, how do you combat the following three specific flags: Ratio of Followed to Nofollowed Subdomains Ratio of Followed to Nofollowed Domains Low Number of Pages Found Crawl only gets a valid response to a small number of pages. Thanks.

Discrepancies between Mozbar data and OSE?
Hey everyone, I've been doing some research into keyword competition, and i've come across a few instances where the data that Mozbar provides differs pretty greatly from what open site explorer is telling me. An example: For this site: http://www.bcwsupplies.com When I have it returned in the serps, Mozbar is telling me there are 21,306 links & 218 linking root domains. But, when I check the backlink profile via OSE, it's only showing 3,020 links & 88 root domains. Can anyone shed some insight into this? Thanks!

Why does Google Webmaster Tools report I have inbound links from over 120 different domains and OSE reports I have 7
My client's site is www.graysonmountainrealestate.com. Google Webmaster Tools reports I have over 120 different domains linking to the site. Why does OSE report only 7? Thanks, Ken
