Getting indexed into Google video search
-
I have a website that has videos hosted from youtube.com embedded onto it. I created and uploaded the videos to youtube and want them on my website. My question is which would be a better option, hosting the video on my website or embed them from youtube? I currently have them embedded onto youtube but when I do a Google video search I cannot find my company's website anywhere. My videos are shown on the results but they are linked to youtube and not my website. Is there a way to get the search results to show listing of the videos posted on my website?

Hi Colocation,
I agree with James; if you are looking fore your videos to be found on your website instead of youtube; I would host them directly on the website. If right now your videos are being found on youtube only, for the mean time, put your website information on the videos description, on the video itself before the video starts and create a channel that has a link to your website. I hope this helps.

Hi,
Pretty sure it works better when you host the videos on your own website using a service such as Wistia.
Then you make a video XMl site map and add it to webmaster tools with the content hosted on the 3rd party website.
It wont happen over night yet video images do show in SERP's after a few weeks.
Kind Regards,
James.

I am looking for the former, sorry for the confusion. I have all the meta information filled out with a link to my website in the description. I just want the video search result to point towards my website instead of youtube.

Are you looking for a direct link to your webpage where you've embedded those videos or do you just want them to show up on video search?
If it's the latter, you need to fill out all of the meta information on YouTube for keywords and descriptions that include your domain name. It's also helpful, for both ranking and the hearing impaired, to put up a transcript of the video.

Great examples of how-to or other awesome videos
Hey all, I plan on making some awesome short, informational (and not overtly promotional) videos for my business. The basic idea is an expert talking and demonstrating how to perform different topics with tools and equipment (related to solar energy). We have a quality film crew and a really knowledgeable and engaging presenter, but does anybody have any awesome examples of this type of video (in any industry). Just trying to get a sense of how I want it to look and feel for maximum engagement. Thanks!

YouTube Filtering Business Videos as Inappropriate Making them Unavailable When Safety Mode Enabled
My client is a public banking software company and recently many of their videos are unavailable to those browsers with "Safety Mode" turned on. What elements within these innocuous videos could be triggering the safety filter? Is there anything we can do about it? I've already reviewed titles/descriptions and reviewed the transcripts for words like 'sex" but I can't find anything that could be inappropriate. Is there any way around this? Is there a process for having this status changed? Thank you

Ranking Differences for Google+ Local vs. Places Listings
I'm seeing some odd behavior with Google+ Local and Google Places listings for clients. I'm wondering if anyone else is seeing it... Here's the situation: We've recently bought on 4 new clients that all have duplicate listing issues, and, weirdly, all have both places and a Google+ local created listings. For three of those four, the Google+ local listing is outranking the Places account for a brand name search (e.g. Dr. John Doe). Weirdly, in one instance, the Google+ local account that is outranking the Places page is named in a less accurate fashion. e.g searching for "Dr. John Doe" the rankings look like this... A) John Doe Plastic Surgery, P.C. - Dr. John Doe B) Dr. John Doe, MD Anyone else seeing this sort of behavior? How are you creating local listings for clients these days - via the places dashboard, or Google+ Local?

Help - Google places,a service my competitor has used...
I was just doing a bit of detective work on a competitors website and noticed they had employed the services of an SEO company. Anyway, i went on this SEO companies website and discovered they offer a service called "Google places". Now I have an idea what google places is (my company is registered with it) but how are SEOs using Google places as a method for SEO? And how can I copy this service to do this for my own website?

I understand that in addition to video sitemaps, a transcription of a video, if presented properly will help google and may help SEO. I cannot find information on the basics to add transcription properly to a page. Advice or direction appreciated.
Looking for guidance or information on the nuts and bolts of how to use transcriptions with video.

What Tactics Are You Using for Video Marketing?
Hey everybody, I finally started shooting some screen capture videos and it is actually fun! Right now, I am uploading to Youtube and soon, Vimeo. Next, I embed them on a post and share it around a few social sites, Tweet it, and share it on my Facebook Page. I know there are more effective ways and sites for doing this. What tips can you Mozzers share? Thanks, Jared

Links from Google Books
Hi Interested in your views on this and any references to research on the subject Using Google Books recently I have discovered multiple citations of a web site I produced years ago in a whole load of publication. Really quite touching to find these 10 years afterwards I imagine that this must have a positive effect on search engine listings for this site. The site has really good listings still. Has any research or any announcement been made by Google about this. Pushing this a bit further ; An advertising hoarding has a web site address http:// ... would Google StreetView pick this up and could it be used as a signal too ? Neil PS No I don't sell adversing hoardings 😉
