Linkbuilding - Suspicious? Seems like they still help!
-
I know we should be careful of suspicious links, and that google may davalue them or even penalize, especiallysince the latest update.
It seems though, however it really hasnt caught up to alot of them yet.
And alot of competition is still benefitting from what seems like all garbage links in their backlink profile
So could someone give their opinion about links form pages like this, assuming it is a mix of this along with other "better" types of links?
http://www.bmxplusmag.com/index.php/member/4817/
See the bio at the bottom. "At least" it is within copy, and only one link to the page?
(Please do not reply with a simple "be careful" message)
Also, does anyone have any update, on the benefit of TextLinkAds, since the recent algo update?
Thanks
Sam

Eventually they may, especially if too many people start to exploit it. It took them over THREE years to negate the link farms. And that's the main frustration. You can stay purists and avoid any/all unnatural or black hat tactics, but in the mean time it feels like a missed opportunity too.

"but could there be a way of Google gauging this and maybe counting number of posts/replies within each of the forum to see if the person is actually active?"
I think that is something that only Google could confirm, and aren't likely to. Best thing is steer clear of anything remotely black hat and sit back and laugh at those that suffer when Google does start targetting these - because they might at some point!

I'd agree that it's unnatural - but could there be a way of Google gauging this and maybe counting number of posts/replies within each of the forum to see if the person is actually active?
Just a thought

You mean the link in the profile bio? I don't think Google is devaluing or negating those types of links yet, and may never. So far the current news and attention has been specifically on link farms and .edu links. Forum profile links will likely still boost rankings.
And while there's no official definition or framework on what types of links are considered "natural" I'd say creating a boat load of forum profiles for link value is an unnatural tactic.

Any white label link building providers like Audience Bloom?
Have used the services of Audience Bloom and do think they are great in being able to provide white label link building services: http://www.audiencebloom.com/services/link-building/white-label-link-building-services-for-agencies/ They are quite expensive though and so we are wondering if any one can help to provide other similar and credible companies like them that offer white label link building but at a lower cost. We would appreciate the advice here of anyone that is unbiased and unaffiliated in providing an credible recommendations. Thanks so much!

Link building external trusted help out there?
Hi there guys and Girls, I am a newbie to the seo world but learning quickly. Unhappy with seo services offered for startups I have taken on the role myself for my website. I think so much of what can be learnt online here I can implement myself with a few hours of work each week. So my dilemma! I have lots of ideas of for content which i know will be valuable and I was considering outsourcing just for link building (the long haul work) The trouble is I am wary of who to use and if such service is out there? I have tried searching on o'desk and freelancer etc but I guess i am too frightened of spammy links or postings on irrelevant sites. I guess initially I am looking for someone who can help my link building campaign whilst I build up my own blogging contacts etc. Does anyone know if these types of services exist? and if any are recommended for small companies? Thanks Michelle

Forgot the name of a cool SEO Tool... Help!
I recently discovered a cool SEO tool. I didn't write it down, save it, bookmark, etc... And now I can't remember the name of the tool for the life of me, but I'd really like to use it again. I was hoping I could list of the features that I remember, and one of you Mozzers know what I'm talking about. It was a backlink analysis tool. It had a free version, and after you performed so many searches/searched so many backlinks, you had to pay. From what I remember it was a fairly nominal fee with the most popular package in around $25. The reason that I liked it so much was you could take an OSE csv file, dump it in there, and it would sort all of the links by link type, i.e, footer, comment, directory, etc... Then it would put it all into a nice pie chart for you and show you the % of the total links that each link type made up. It would also analyze the anchor text and would show you every anchor text used, and the % of the total each one made up.

Outsourcing Linkbuilding: Companies, Costs, Payment models
Hi there I am looking at outsourcing linikbuilding to a new content site. I want to target one 3 word keyphrase to begin with, it has a keyword difficulty of 48% (moderately competitive) on Google US. Goal is to rank 1-3, the target page is well on-page optimised. Here are my questions: Are there companies that have performance based payment models? Any rough guestimates on how much money is needed to get a page to rank 1-3 for a 48% difficulty level keyword? Over how many months? Any recommendations for good companies? Thanks a bunch, Chris

Separate blog url helpful?
I am managing a website for a hotel brokerage firm. The main URL is www.hotelassetsgroup.com but we started a new blog with the URL www.hotelsforsaleblog.com. We chose the blog URL because it has the words "hotels for sale." The main website has a tab at the top titled "Blog" which links to the blog URL. I am not sure if this is helping us or not because the main URL and blog URL are both competing for the name of the business "Hotel Assets Group." The blog has very little interlinking within the same URL because it mainly links to the main website. Should we combine the two URLs together and just have the blog URL be the same like- hotelassetsgroup.com/blog or something like that?

Linkbuilding on deep Blog pages
So I think I've got a good strategy going but wanted to get others feedback on it... I've been link building on a lot of blogs via reviews and giveaways. Frequently, these blogs give my posts limited exposure on the Home Page because the posts quickly get buried by new posts and eventually pushed off the home page to the "older posts" pages. Sometimes, reviews never even touche the home page because they live one level down on a "reviews" page which typically has 0 inbound links and low page authority. In these cases, I will use OSE to find the blog post with the strongest back link profile and request a link on that page instead. Typically, these posts are 2-3 years old so the bloggers are usually happy to give an old page some action. I'm a bit concerned though..Since these pages are frequently old, their content has not changed for years. Essentially, the pages have gone stale. Am I getting any benefit from these links? They typically have the 2nd best Page Authority on the Domain, but I'm wondering if the lack of fresh content kills all the value.
