Working with 3rd PArty Social Media partners / paid blogs

Hi there!
We are an ecommerce company based in the UK and are an online butcher.
We are looking to further our contribution and authority in a social sphere, in particular develop relations with bloggers and social sites who are realised to have authority in our sphere (food / meat).
At present we are active in the usual (Twitter, Facebook etc) and have over 1000 likes and followers. We also have a cool blog which can be found at www.donaldrussell.com/weblog/index.html
We are looking at our content and would like to share this with other bloggers in return for backlinks and visits from these blogs, and in turn improve our pagerank and SEO ratings.
I have been offered the chance to work with EBuzzing, who claim to get your content published and referred to but you have to pay these "bloggers" for the privelage. Is this a good way of furthering our social strategy in the short term, or is this the wrong way to go and do search engines devalue these links?
My preference is to organically grow our presence through becoming a valuable contributor and have alsways strongly advocated this, however Ebuzzing or other simillar services sound too good to be true! Are they?
Hope you can help me, and look forward to your thoughts.
Many thanks
Gary

Thanks for the quick reply. Sounds like sensible advice! I just needed to be areassured that when too good to be true, it probably is.
Thanks again Andy!

Hi Gary,
Usually, if it sounds too good to be true, it generally is - and this is why no-one else really recommends or uses these sorts of services. If anyone gets wind of what is going on, you are the ones who will suffer.
You are also having to entrust your brand to someone who doesn't know about you as a butcher - it can be a dangerous game... be very careul how you play it.
My advise, walk away.
Regards,
Andy

Has anyone seen a Blog post from LinkedIn's new Blog feature appear in SERP's?
This feature, prior to Feb. 2014 was only available to high profile users, or influencers, like Bill Gates. Now it is available to all LinkedIn users and extends the reach to LinkedIn groups and your own network. Anyone know if there's an SEO benefit? Thanks in advance.

We have a profile on Facebook, with around 5.000 likes, and as far as im concerned the important thing on Facebook is to get people to share your links? Google+ At the moment we dont have a Google+ account, but my suggestion would be that we create one . maybe not to generate alot of content, but in order to get more info on the branded search results - and i have a presumption that Google will put more and more emphasis on Google+ in the updates that lies ahead. Twitter We have a profile, but are there anything we could do in order to optimize the SEO-effect via Twitter - what i have heard is that because their links are no-follow it dosent have any effect on SEO. Instagram
Is there anything to gain on SEO if you create a profile on Instagram? Please let me hear your views on this. Thanks in advance.0 -
Is a Tumblr company blog good for SEO?
Hi, We are in the process of gaining coverage and visibility over our SaaS service. And one of the work we're doing is, very much standardly, having our pro blog with content. I see that most of companies/people are using a WordPress or a Blogger blog to achieve this. Another school is choosing Tumblr, which is a rising star. But then I can't help to feel that there is something wrong with Tumblr. It doesn't appear in Google search at all... It is never in the top of the searches. And sometimes even search for an exact match of a known post extract won't show the Tumblr link into google Search. What it means to me is that Tumblr has a very poor SEO-friendly policy. I was also reading in different posts that it was indeed the case. Tumblr is bad for SEO. I can't help but feeling confused and not really understanding how such a big social blogging engine couldn't get into google search... Or are they going twitter-like? I guess my question will be: "Is it good to have chosen Tumblr, or should I switch to either WordPress.com or Blogger using a custom DNS?" Thanks for reading.

Social Media and Local Search results
Hello, I have profiles in several social media websites like Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, etc. When I search with my name on google.com the profiles are showing on the first page, but when I do a local search, the profiles start showing in the end of the second page. I'm very active in my social media profiles, and I don't know why is this happening. How long does it take for the profiles to show on the first page in local search? Can I do anything to speed up the process?

Infographic/Link Bait idea. Unrelated to my site though, suggestions?
Question, been thinking of some link bait infographic ideas for my site www.jobshadow.com I've got a couple in the careers/job niche but the one I think would be best is completely unrelated. I study free market economics a lot and want to debunk the whole 'deflation' debate that is on the news these days. The overall gist would be to do so with a history of Apple products showing why falling prices aren't anything to be afraid of. Given that it's econ/techie related(even non econ people would find this graphic neat I think) and not specific to the 'career hunting' and job searching my site is I'm curious what people suggest. Give it a shot and release on our blog anyway? Or trade it to someone else in a more relative niche(assuming the graphic gets built, I know ideas are relatively cheap:).

What is the best social backlink checker available right now?
I want a tool that i can enter a domain into and get all the social backlinks available. Preferably the tool that keeps the most recent database of this information. I'm willing to pay for the tool, it does not need to be free. Not sure if i'm using the right terminology here, by "social backlinks" i mean Facebook Shares, Twitter RT's, Google +'s, etc.
