Video Links under meta description
-
Has anyone seen Google adding links to the site's videos right under the meta description for the result? I tried finding more information on it and couldn't find any. Anyone here know how to get a video link displayed with your search result?

Hi Matt, Thanks for the answer! I don't think it's site links exactly. I added an image to help clarify. It's very similar to site links, but there's a play button next to a video link.
And, good luck with the IPad.

Arg... There were paragraphs when I typed that... Honest! First time I've used QA through my iPad - looks like I broke it - Matt

Hi, This sounds like a 'sitelink' feature, whereby other pages from the top ranked site are shown below the meta description on google's results page. Unfortunately there isn't a way to manually turn this feature on inside webmaster tools - they simply appears for sites that Google deems to be worthy of such an honour. Once they do appear you can stop certain pages showing as a sitelink by disabling them inside webmaster tools, which does mean that you get a degree of control over how they're displayed. There are ways you can increase your chances of having sitelinks enabled which include things like ranking consistently well, having a high ctr rate on organic searches and (most importantly) having a site with well designed, logical navigation. One of our clients received sitelinks about a month after we started working with them whilst a personal project that I've been working on for just over a year is still waiting... So, unfortunately, it's just a case of being patient. To answer the direct question of how to include a video, this would be down to how your site was set up and ensuring that Google saw the video as being important enough to show as a sitelink. I don't have any experience in this though so wouldn't be able to give you any specific help. Oh... If you're really desperate, there's always the option of enabling them on an adwords campaign!! - Matt

Force youtube video to appear in search?
Hi, I haven't done much Youtube optimization yet, and now I have a Youtube project. I was wondering if one can "force" Google to display a video on an organic SERP that originally did not include any videos at all? Thanks for thoughts!

Any Free Video Analytics Tools?
Hi, we are looking for some free video analytics tools. We want to be able to provide our clients or prospective client some stats on how much reach (views, distribution, sites appearing on, etc.) their videos have. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance.

Site videos and rich snippets - where to place video
Hi all, we have product videos that we are putting on our (new) site. The video thumbnail for a product is displayed along with image thumbnails on the product details page i.e. see here: http://www.3wisemonkeys.co.uk/dvd/portable-dvd-player-car/twin-dvd-player/nextbase-sdv48ac/ Click on the video thumbnail and a lightbox pop up window displays the movie. We would like to markup the videos with rich snippet markup. Is this possible with the videos setup in this way (i.e. video displayed in Lightbox) or would we need to embed the video in the product description text on this page (rather than thumbnail with Lightbox popup as it is at the moment) so that we stood a chance of getting a rich snippet on Google SERPs for our product detail pages? Thanks for any help.

Video Embeding
I would like to ask if somebody know what is the best way to embed video on home page. I read that google does not read i frame. Also it is a problem if i have featured video on home page with link to post where is again the same video? Also it is not a problem if I plan to be changing the videos on the home page in period of the time 1-2months? Also, people can embed video from there, is this not a problem? Thank you for any advice

Tips for local link building?
Hello Mozzers, Working on a site that has locations around the country and is targeting words like "city name+long tail keyword". They're fairly well optimized on-site, so we're working on recommending localized content but could use some advice for link building. Beyond Google places, what have you guys seen that works?

What is the best way to host a video on my site from a SEO perspective?
Hi, we are in the process of creating a video about a topic that is highly relevant for our customers. Once it is completed we want to offer the video to our customers so that they can embed it into their own websites for free. What is the best way to do this and still receive maximum SEO juice? If we use a a video service like youtube or vimeo, then the link will go to vimeo or youtube and not our site. One thing we are thinking about is asking our customers to link to our site in return for embedding the video, but if there is an automatic solution then this would be a lot better. Any tips will be highly appreciated! If you have anyother tips regarding video content then the same of course! Many thanks! Daan

Tools for Link Quality
Hello Folks I'm a very new at SEO... and need your help please 🙂 Currently using the Goggle webmaster tool and SEO moz to monitor back links to a site... my questions are; Why do both tools show way less back links than I think I should have? Does the fact that these tools not show a link I've built mean it was a bad link? Finally what is some good techniques to know if a link is worth paying for? Is commenting on relavent blogs actually still worth anything? Thank you all
