We have one particular blog post that is very popular. How can we direct that traffic to other parts of our website?

We have one post in our blog that receives a large amount of traffic. Does anyone have suggestions on how to get people to click through to other posts and sections of the website? I'd like to learn how to harness that power.
Thanks,
Hill

I appreciate your response and insight. It's very helpful.
What makes this particular post so difficult is that it is a random subject that largely has nothing to do with the rest of our site. Which is part of the reason why we're so surprised it is so popular.
It was unexpected, and I'm grateful for the surprise. However, it adds a layer of difficulty to channeling that energy to the rest of the site.
Thanks, again.

I would make sure to include anchor text links to related pieces of content or old blog posts that apply to the same subject matter in the body content of the post. Users are more likely to click on a link in a blog content area then they are to click on other navigation elements. If there were a desired page on your website you were trying to direct them to specifically then you could use an attractive graphical "call to action" but that doesn't necessarily mean they'll visit the rest of the website fully.
I would be more inclined to see what about that post makes it very popular and play on that again. Is there a possible follow up post you could do or another post on a similar subject? As more great content begins to expand on the website and users continue to come they will notice other areas of the website that may also apply to them.

What are the SEO implications of high quality backlinks from US-based websites to UK-based websites?
Hi everyone, quick question I hope someone could help me with: We're representing a client based in the UK. As part of their overall strategy we've been linkbuilding. At the moment, about 80/90% of the links we've gained come from UK-based sites, with 10/20% coming from US-based websites. The US based websites are very good (think New York Times and genuine, relevant blogs with good readerships). An external search analyst/consultant has contacted the client to say that the US links will be harming the site, because the links are from websites in the US and not the UK. We believe that if 80/90% of the links were from the US this could indeed cause harm as it could indicate to search engines that our client is in the US when it's not (which might compromise their chance of ranking in .co.uk versions of search engines) however because it's only 10/20%, and because the linking sites are very good, we believe that they will getting all of the benefits of the positive metrics without any meaningful negatives. We just wanted to get a few opinions on this to see if people think that we're mistaken, and would be glad to hear any opinions contrary to our own.

Network of websites
Hello, A client has an "umbrella" website which links to 4 other websites which all rank well. However, she wants to bring them all under the one website to save running costs. Do you think that is a good idea? I believe that she will lose al the benefits of having 4 successful websites linking and all the benfits that brings. Thanks

Website/blog list to get quality backlinks?
Hi Everyone says quality backlinks increase ranking of your website. Can you please suggest a list of good websites and blogs from where I can get quality backlinks and how to do that. I have one person at my disposal full time to do manual commenting or any manual tasks for getting backlinks but how should i approach this problem (of getting backlinks). Where do I start. For information, my website provides online services (its an ecommerce site) and also has a blog in subdirectory. refer to www.geekwik.com www.geekwik.com/blog Would like to become top ranker on search for these services (eg 'logo design services', 'website programming', 'content writing', 'hire virtual assistant' etc) Also anyone interested to become our SEO consultant or SEO service provider (of course paid) is most welcome 🙂 Thanks in Advance!

Guest Blogging
I am looking to get into guest blogging for our retail brick-and-mortar store to increase more local search traffic. 1. Any local SEO recommendations/tips you have? 2. Can you post the same article in multiple places? Or is this a huge no-no? 3. For local search, should we focus on article directories or guest blogs? Thanks in advance for your feedback, and sorry that it's a three-parter! 🙂

Blogs that Link to Random Sites
Posting articles on the MyBlogGuest article gallery can lead to several sites offering to publish your guest post on their blog. However many of these sites will accept any guest post that links out to anything from socks to hotels. Would you avoid guest posting on these sites? (if it would take very little time to do)

Separate blog url helpful?
I am managing a website for a hotel brokerage firm. The main URL is www.hotelassetsgroup.com but we started a new blog with the URL www.hotelsforsaleblog.com. We chose the blog URL because it has the words "hotels for sale." The main website has a tab at the top titled "Blog" which links to the blog URL. I am not sure if this is helping us or not because the main URL and blog URL are both competing for the name of the business "Hotel Assets Group." The blog has very little interlinking within the same URL because it mainly links to the main website. Should we combine the two URLs together and just have the blog URL be the same like- hotelassetsgroup.com/blog or something like that?

Question about 302 re-direct
Hi, I have noticed a competitor of mine is using 302 redirects to his website. It seems to me that he is buying a huge amout of domains and linking to his own website though this. I have never noticed anyone else do this before and wondered what people's views are on this?
