Super weird stuff in Adwords!

Sup people,
Check this out, I found a keyword from the search query report in Adwords, its had over the last month 120,000 impressions and its long tail ish (4 words).
Now when I check the keyword tool it says less then 10, when I check Google insights nothing.
So I check if EMD is free and it is, so now im really interested!
Speak to Google account manager about it he says yeah its super weird, checks account to make sure its not coming from display network and it isn't, so we add the keyword from search query report as a exact match and let it run, this is the second day, yestarday when we added it it done 4000 impressions, today so far its done 500.
Whats the score, does it sound like it is doing the traffic or do you think its some sort of bug in Adwords as other tools (keyword tool, Google insights) dont show the same result.
The only thing I can think of is, its just kicked in on Google suggestions but not 100% other then that I don't know.

In my case, I had the strong feeling it was a bot or automated query of some type that did not represent a human. I was in fact frustrated that Google didn't filter it out as impression fraud. The searches were for things that just didn't exist.
Let us know how your EMD goes, might be interesting, but I wouldn't expect a whole lot if your situation was similar to mine.

Ok thanks for the update.
What if I told you the keyword includes the word Him, after seeing the impressions I added the same keyword in another adgroup but changed Him for Her and im getting roughly 2,500 impressions.
Well I got the EMD and its up, when it kicks in I can share the analytics with you for organic traffic, im sure within a few days of that ill come to a conclusion, most likely your one but who knows until its tested.

I created a negative phrase match that covered that query and some other fishy queries. I do NOT feel that the search volume was real. We had a very low CTR and did not want to bring down the quality score of that ad group, so we excluded it as soon as possible.

See are you talking about a phrase match keyword? Because im talking about an exact match keyword, so the only keyword it would get impressions for is itself.
Similar though in the fact we sore 4,005 impressions yesterday with 8 clicks, CTR 0.20%, Avg Pos 1.6.
But the Ad for the Adgroup the keyword sits in, is not that relevant because I just quickly added it to just see the impressions, would not really want the click through because the term is not that relevant to the product.
BUT organic wise I would go for it because the EMD is free and comp wise not a lot so would not be that hard to rank.
What you think then? Do you think the search volume me and YOU experienced is actually real?

Is it similar to what I saw one time where we were bidding on (fictionalized here, but close to reality) "coleman campers" and we saw thousands of impressions with just one or two clicks for the phrase "coleman campers & motorhome rvs"? Our AdWords rep wouldn't believe that anything was fishy, even though the original search query was for a type of product that the manufacturer did not even make.
Are you getting any clicks from it? Is it a reasonable query? Is it making you any money?

My question is actually Inspired by that very good article: https://moz.com/blog/google-organic-clicks-shifting-to-paid that I read this morning. Present situation: For a specific and valuable non-branded keyword combination (2-3 words) we rank: Google Adwords: position 1 Local Pack (with maps): position 1 Organic Search: position 3-5, lately more 5-6 Question?: Is it still worth having AdWords ads or not there? How to evaluate if we could do without AdWords? Any algorithm, experiment, thought that would help find out? We know our average cost per lead for the different channels. Just to leave away AdWords ads for a certain time is not really an option nor would that statistically mean anything, i.e. if we skip AdWords and have the same number of leads after that and compare it with the months before (with AdWords) that could also be due to other reasons (seasonal aspects, etc.). Put in other words: if we skip AdWords people would still click (more) on our other two search results (local & organic). Google Adwords Clicks not registering properly???
Hello Moz World, I am running a Google Adwords campaign utilizing Google Search and Search Partners only. These are traditional text ads. When I look at the analytics through Google Adwords, I am seeing 60 clicks. Great! However, when I look through the keywords in the ad groups, none of my keywords are registering clicks. I also checked search terms under the keyword tab, and no keywords are populating. Where are my ads being clicked, and how can I view information on these clicks. This is a relatively new campaign, and I am still trying to figure out if I am targeting the right keywords. Thanks ahead of time for all the great responses! B/R Will H.

Disparities between AdWords clicks and Analytics sessions
Hi all, Have an Analytics account connected to my AdWords account which is showing HUGE gulfs in clicks and sessions for a CPM campaign. 500 clicks = 0 sessions. Does anyone have any idea why this could be the case? Auto-tagging is on and everything looks to be in place. The website itself is on a 303 so I was wondering could that be impacting things? The CPC is also just 1p so that's got me very suspicious. Thanks in advance.

Using + in Adwords URL
Hi. I am using keywords in my Destination URL in Adwords. So http://example.com/?football+boots+supplier This was done by someone else and I am trying to understand the full meaning behind this. If I go to the page it links to, it is just the homepage of the website but obviously shows up in Analytics as a landing page that stills out from the general landing page of homepage / Is that the reason so its easier to track the data? I would have though using the Paid referral in Analytics does this better? Any help be great. Thanks

AdWords/Analytics Paid Search conversions not matching up - any idea why?
Hi all, Any ideas as to why AdWords and Analytics are showing different Paid Search conversion numbers for me when I check on a daily basis? Both accounts are linked, they share the same destination URLs to trigger a conversion, some days each reflects the same amount of conversions, then some days it's anything from 1-5 conversions different (Analytics is always the one to show more). Potential problems with multiple users of an adwords MCC
Morning all, I have had a query regarding granting access to an MCC account for people using various platforms. Now this a pretty specific query for an area outside my expertise, and conveniently both our PPC guys are on holiday so thought i would reach out to the community. Full request is this: "On the mcc I am slightly concerned about that, from experience I have run into problems especially with granting access for usage of API’s on an account, so if for example we wanted to use marin they would need access then another wanted to use adobe they would need another and if they are all sat under the SSM teams mcc that could be problematic or we would have to set up another." Is there any correlation between the on-page factors being complete in moz and having a good quality score in Adwords?
I've been optimizing the website for a few keywords we're targeting and I'm looking to improve the quality score for my Adwords landing pages. My on-page scoring is great, but my scores in Adwords are low. Ideas?

Keyword domains for AdWords - duplicate content an issue
Hi guys, A client of mine has bought a raft of keyword domains for use in an AdWords campaign. This isn't my area of expertise, hence the question. They have a hosting account which can host an unlimited number of domains. Can they set up the domains with the same content on each site and then use AdWords to drive traffic to the sites? I've suggested they can use rel="canonical" to specify that the preferred site is the main site of the company which should bypass the duplicate content issue. Is this the best way to host the sites or is there a better alternative? Thanks in advance, Brendan.
