Focus Facebook Likes and +1 to URL or Page?
-
We are considering adding the +1 and facebook like widget to the footer of all our pages, but we can't decide whether to point them to our URL or to our respective Google Plus / Facebook Page.
Ideally, we would prefer poiting them to our pages instead of our site URL, but I'm not so sure if we would get as much SEO advantage that way.
I was looking for feedback towards the SEO advantages / disadvantages of this at what strategy you guys use.
For example:
- Having +1 our URL would be shown to their friends at the organic results.
- Having +1 our page would grow our profile, allowing us to communicate with them and would also enable people search +Duplika at Google (like it happens with big brands).
What do you suggest?
-
You have quite a bit of activity already on your Facebook page, so I would just link your website over to your profile.
Also, I would suggest creating a Facebook specific conversion page on your website, and iframing it into a Facebook tab. That way you can still collect contact info/email addresses to continue to market to people.
I can't remember the exact size of the iframe, but its something like 520px wide, but the suggested size is 480px in order to fit a scroll bar in the window.

It's not so easy to answer that question, since there are people that visit our social profile and later visit our website to buy our service.
Also, while I could test this and answer it, if our objective is to grow our social profiles, requesting our clients to like / +1 our URL would be a waste of time.

Which one converts better for you? For me it's my website, so I wouldn't dream of sending them away. However, I have friends that convert much better on Facebook.
Conversions are all about testing to find what works, and keep building on that.

CPA for Facebook Advertising
I'm just wanting to find out more if I can set a CPA strategy for Facebook advertising and re-targeting. An acquisition for us would be when someone reaches our thank you page. This indicates a successful conversion on our site. Are we able to set a Facebook strategy where payment is only made for advertising upon reaching that page (and achieving that conversion)?

Are Facebook ads a waste of money?
Possibly a contrivercial topic as it depends on the business industry and other factors. Although when we have created targeted ads, say for example British people who live in London, aged between 30-55 as our 'targeted audience', set the ads live and we get nothing but fake followers and people from eastern countries. It seems to me as a complete waste of money.

Why isn't my Facebook page showing up in search results?
When I search directly for imageworks creative facebook page on Google, I get many results - some of which are not mine and some of which are listings from other citation sites like Manta. I did a site: search and I do see that the page is indexed by Google, but it's pretty important that we get a better ranking than we currently have! This is the Facebook url: https://www.facebook.com/ImageWorksCreative As part of our rebranding, we did have the URL changed from /imageworksstudio, but that was well over a month ago. I feel as though Google should have caught up by now. Any thoughts on how we can get our FB profile onto the front page?

Facebook Page Options
I know that facebook allows you to change your personal profile to a page. But now they have something else and I don't know what it is. It's another option that might be better than a page. This is for a company. Anyone know what I'm looking for? Thanks!

Linking Facebook - Twitter - Website - G+ Profiles
During a spectacular presentation at Seattle Interactive Conference, Rand discussed how Google is able to see linkage between different social networks and a Google profile. Outside of setting up your Twitter feed to send loads of messages to your Facebook fans (or vice versa), is there a best way to communicate the "linkage" between your social media profiles to the search engines? Eg - How do you best signal to Google that your Twitter, Facebook, G+ and your website are from the same entity?

Are there tools like followerwonk / wefollow for blogs?
We are looking for a way to quickly find blogs for a particular keyword that have a high number of subscribers / followers. Is there a tool that can do this? A blog equivalent of followerwonk / wefollow would be ideal.

Impact of URL shorteners in Twitter feeds
Hello, Will use of URL shorteners [bit.ly/tiny.cc or equivalent] in Twitter feeds impact the rankings of a target pages? As I understand it Twiitter links are automatically generated as nofollows so I am assuming the published link is irrelevant. Is this still the case? If we do continue to use URL shortereners should we look at branded URL-shorteners to provide link context? Thanks.
