Another high bounce rate
-
Hi there,
One of my top landing pages has an 81% bounce rate.

My first thoughts are purely bad IA and usability, but i know there must be loads of other things people might identify.
Thanks in advance,
Ben

Th page is OK but a little bland and with no real fucus. However I agree that if you look at the entry keywords with the high bounce rate all will become clear. I suspect you are ranking for a term that is not so relevant to your topic...
-
My first impression is that I have no idea what the page is about. But mainly, there is no guidance in what I should do next. There is no call to action.
So what is the main purpose of this page?
-
First, a bad bounce rate doesn't always mean a bad page. There are several reasons one might see a high bounce rate as a good or neutral thing.
With regards to your page, however, I'm not sure. I'd say look at what your entrance keywords are. Which entrance keywords are triggering the bounce? I'll bet if you look at that data, it'll make more sense. 9 times out of 10 bouncing people are landing on a page that doesn't have content to fit their query.
-
Are you ranking for any irrelevant terms or getting a lot of referrals from a site that drives traffic from people who wouldn't be interested?
I also have to say, I read almost all the copy above the fold and I'm still not exactly clear about what you're offering. When i went to the homepage, I figured it out, but the page in question is actually about what you do, that that could be a problem.

High bounce rates consistent with a login that takes you to a 3rd party site?
My firm has a credit union client whose bounce rates skyrocketed after implementing an online banking portal. Logging in to the online banking portal takes you to a 3rd party site. Would arriving at the site and immediately logging in be considered a bounce? And if so, would a high bounce rate actually correlate with a warm reception to their online banking tool?

Google Analytics and Bounce Rates Query - Should I block access from foreign countries ?
Hi , When I look at my google analytics for my UK Website, I can see alot of visits come from outside the UK , i.e Brazil and USA. Both of which give me almost 100% bounce rates from people visiting from there. I am wondering, if google looks at bounce rates with regards to ranking factors and should I therefore block access to my site from visitors outside the UK ?... Would this help increase my rankings ? Given that we only serve uk customers, I cant see any benefit of allowing non uk customers the ability to see the site . what does people think ? thanks pete

Irrelevant page with high bounce rate
I have a page on my site, www.waikoloavacationrentals.com/kolea-rentals/floor-plans, that gets me roughly 17% of my traffic. That being said it is not really relevant traffic because it comes from the search term "floor plans", which really has nothing to do with Hawaii vacation rentals, which is what I do. My question is does Google know how to figure that out when they are looking at my stats or is there a way to let google know that that page probably should not show up for that search phrase? On the positive, they are nice floor plans and if someone is searching for ideas for floor plans and see one of them in google images then it probably could help them, but it really is not relevant to my business. It has a 80% bounce rate, but does have an average time on page of 1.5 minutes, which is a fair amount for what is there.

Has GA changed how it calculates bounce rate?
Updated website from Magento backend to Wordpress and since the redeploy, my bounce rate has dropped from 40% to 4%. I did check to see if there was duplicate GA tracking code but only one call. I checked reports under "visitor flow" and one page visits seem inline with the previous bounce rate. Weird. Never experienced this before.

What is The Bounce Rate of Single Page Website?
Hi All, I just want to clear some of my confusion regarding bounce rate. Bounce rate depends upon time. If yes than how? What will be the bounce rate for single page website. Single page website will have same bounce rate and exit rate?

Bounce rates plummeted
In Google Analytics, my average bounce rates plummeted basically overnight. I went from a consistent average daily bounce rate of about 65% to an average daily bounce rate near 5%. My average number of visitors has stayed the same. I don't think there is any significant change I made to my site that may have caused this. Has anyone else had the same problem and know why it happened and how to fix it? Thanks in advance!

High percentage of nofollow links
Hi, I've just created my first campaign and noticed that on the competitive analysis our website is having a lot of nofollow links: more than 50% I did some research on the web to learn more about nofollow links, but I don't understand why this percentage is so big especially compared to the other websites in the analysis (less than 10%)? Anyone any ideas? Thanks!
