Indexing techniques
-
Hi,
I just want a confirmation about my indexing technique, if is good or can be improved. The technique is totally whitehat and can be done by one person. Any suggestions or improvements are welcome.
- I create the backlinks ofcource first
- I make a list on public doc from Google.
- On the doc are only ten links.
- After I digg it , and add some more bookmarks 5-6.
- I tweet the digg and each doc. (my 2 twitter accounts have page authority 98)
- I like them in Fb.
- I ping them thru ping serviecs.
- Thats it. Works ok for moment.
Is anything what I can do to improve my technique?
Thanks lot

Maybe I wasnt so much lucky I guess...But is ok..Im still happy:)

Based on your profile, I'm guessing this is a gaming-related site?

My goal is about the old pages to get crawled fast. Which contains my links on them. Is not about my pages.

Many of them are authority 10-20-30-40, some other are zero. All are indexed pages because I am taking the links from a competitor. Yes some are low quality links but he is ranking number 1 after 2 500 000 exact matches.I just do this effort to speed up the indexing because many of them are not getting indexed fast. I mean I saw some of them that after 1 month start to show up in Webmaster Tools. After this process all are etting indexed in one day maximum. As for the quality links what you are suggesting to get is almost impossible due to the nature of the niche. Nobody want to give them, as this specific keyword is extremely profitable and have millions of searches. I mean the hardest part is to get the already good ones, and build authority for the other what I create new...OHHHH.. Also we are just 2 persons working here...From 1000 links what I visit until now only 60 was possible to get . Stay another 9000 links for checking.....If I get until 600 from his links will be good I guess , my site is already ranking with his keyword, but in position 50 about(just on page optimization)...and is old, pr 2 with 150 likes and some tweets, all real. The new links are builded in the last 2 days so I dont know where it will goes the site . Other bad on this is that they are around 45 exact matches domains under him with the same keyword...Mine is even not in url..

I believe you are referring to getting backlinks indexed. The only reason you would need to go to all that effort is if you were building low quality links on deep pages or pages with thin content that Google would not value in their index (e.g. Forum profile links, blog comments) I'm sure you are doing more than enough to get your links indexed but they will become quickly deindexed if Google no longer values the page content. If you are going to all this effort to index a batch low quality links then why not put that same effort into building links on pages with more trust & better quality content that Google will want in their index?

IF your goal is to get your webpages indexed, then why not create a sitemap and submit it in GWT? I don't understand why you would go through all that trouble to get your webpages indexed.

How to Get Permalinks Indexed?
Hey Everyone, I'm so happy to be apart of this community and assert knowledge where and when I can. I joined the community for one specific reason and I hope to employ the help of everyone here in conjunction with solving my SEO problem. I have a few years experience in SEO/SEM and have been continuously learning, while learning to adapt to continuous changes (I think we can all relate lol). At any rate, here is what I am experiencing frustration with. I'm the SEO Analyst for a company that is trying to compete for the keyword phrase "Lyft Promo Code". We have been trying to place page one on google for over a year now to no avail. I have gotten my direct domain url to appear on pages 1 & 2, but can't seem to get permalinks or "Sub-URL's" indexed. If you google this phrase you will see what I mean. The top result is:http://rideshareapps.com/lyft-promo-code-credit/

This url has an aggregated rating and appears page one for the phrase aforementioned above. What we have managed to do, as I mentioned is get www.couponcodeshero.com on page two. However, we have noticed that the page one trend is all permalinks. However when we have tried to emulate the pages structure and index priority, we are unable too. Our page:
http://couponcodeshero.com/lyft-promo-code-rideshare-guide/ I have ran multiple on-page graders from many resources and have not been able to get this page indexed as a permalink on any page that directly correlates with the Keyword Phrase. In essence, I'm looking for some direction from individuals who may have experienced this before. I have spent a good amount of time Googling and searching forum databases but can not find any direct content that explains how to index a permalink. I hope to get some great ideas from the individuals here! If you do know of any articles or even previously answered questions here please direct me there. it is only my intention to add value to the community! Schieler Mew

301s being indexed
A client website was moved about six months ago to a new domain. At the time of the move, 301 redirects were setup from the pages on the old domain to point to the same page on the new domain. New pages were setup on the old domain for a different purpose. Now almost six months later when I do a query in google on the old domain like site:example.com 80% of the pages returned are 301 redirects to the new domain. I would have expected this to go away by now. I tried removing these URLs in webmaster tools but the removal requests expire and the URLs come back. Is this something we should be concerned with?

Indexing of internal search results: canonicalization or noindex?
Hi Mozzers, First time poster here, enjoying the site and the tools very much. I'm doing SEO for a fairly big ecommerce brand and an issue regarding internal search results has come up. www.example.com/electronics/iphone/5s/ gives an overview of the the model-specific listings. For certain models there are also color listings, but these are not incorporated in the URL structure. Here's what Rand has to say in Inbound Marketing & SEO: Insights From The Moz Blog Search filters are used to narrow an internal search—it could be price, color, features, etc.
Intermediate & Advanced SEO | | ClassicDriver
Filters are very common on e-commerce sites that sell a wide variety of products. Search filter
URLs look a lot like search sorts, in many cases:
www.example.com/search.php?category=laptop
www.example.com/search.php?category=laptop?price=1000
The solution here is similar to the preceding one—don’t index the filters. As long as Google
has a clear path to products, indexing every variant usually causes more harm than good. I believe using a noindex tag is meant here. Let's say you want to point users to an overview of listings for black 5s iphones. The URL is an internal search filter which looks as follows: www.example.com/electronics/apple/iphone/5s?search=black Which you wish to link with the anchor text "black iphone 5s". Correct me if I'm wrong, but if you no-index the black 5s search filters, you lose the equity passed through the link. Whereas if you canonicalize /electronics/apple/iphone/5s you would still leverage the link juice and help you rank for "black iphone 5s". Doesn't it then make more sense to use canonicalization?0 -
More Indexed Pages than URLs on site.
According to webmaster tools, the number of pages indexed by Google on my site doubled yesterday (gone from 150K to 450K). Usually I would be jumping for joy but now I have more indexed pages than actual pages on my site. I have checked for duplicate URLs pointing to the same product page but can't see any, pagination in category pages doesn't seem to be indexed nor does parameterisation in URLs from advanced filtration. Using the site: operator we get a different result on google.com (450K) to google.co.uk (150K). Anyone got any ideas?

Webmaster Tools: Total Indexed VS Ever Crawled
Ok, In WMT's under health > index status I have both total indexed and ever crawled ticked - It also looks like the data is broken up weekly. As an example say you have the following: Total Indexed: 1000 Ever Crawled: 5000 What is this say? It found 5000 pages but only indexed 1000 (20%). Thanks

[e-commerce] Should I index product variants?
Hi guys, I have e-commerce site, that sells car tires. I was wondering would I benefit from making all Product Variants ( for example each tire size ) as different page, that has link to the main product to provide some affiliation, or should I make each variant noindex, and add rel=canonical to the main product. The benefits from having each variant indexed can be many: greater click through rate more relative results for customers etc. But I'm not sure how to handle the duplicate content issue ( in this case, only the title, URL and H1 can be different ). Regards.
