Keyword Self-Cannibalization Message
-
Hi,
I am receiving the following message in my on-page report card:
Avoid Keyword Self-Cannibalization
However, I cannot find a link with the relevant anchor text on that specific page?
I am using Wordpress and it is a page not a post so there are no tags.
Hmmmm.... I'm confused - too many glasses of red wine?

The self-cannibalization warning is just that - check your internal links. It usually tells you that unless they're exact match links pointing to other pages on your site (or even to other websites) then it may not do you much harm.
You may find your navigation in Wordpress has generated internal links to other pages, or the tags system. Without seeing the actual site it's hard to advise, but check these two bit particularly.

Best Keyword Strategy for Lower-Authority-Ranked Domain
Hi, What should a lower-authority-ranked blog (DA - 21) who is trying to increase general traffic focus on above all when selecting keywords: difficulty, monthly volume, opportunity, or priority? I know that all are important factors to consider, but I fear that without an already consistent following our new content will just get hidden behind more established domains if we select too difficult of keywords. I'd love to hear from someone who's built up a blog audience as to what strategy they used here. Thanks!

Keywords with a city suffix
Hi Pros, Here is our question / dilemma... Context/Background _Our company has 41 offices around the US and Europe; _ _We (our SEO) teams results are based on someone in a specific postcode/zipcode opening Chrome/IE/FF and searching using Google/Bing/Yahoo _ _(keyword) + (city) _ i.e. Ice cream Manhattan or Computer services Manhattan Our methodology is - (a) Choose an office (zipcode), identify the territory city names required for that Office's SEO goals. (b) begin to develop the strategy and execute (c) wait 1-2 months and test Question Using SEOmoz we are not sure HOW we could even begin to track the keywords?

Keyword Canibalization!
I have a page and it's ranking for a keyword. I placed an internal text link with that keyword as an anchor from that page to that page. The pages is linking to itself. Why on-page report card sees that anchor text link as a cannibalization link? Another problem that i cannot resolve about keyword cannibalization is that the same tool sees cannibalizing link for different kw. Ex : I have a page/category about shoes. From that page i link with anchor text links (the name of the anchor is the name of subcategory ) to subcategories which are men shoes, women shoes, kids shoes, etc. Now, why those links are seen as a cannibalization links for the keyword shoes?

Keyword ranking - authority information
How can you explain that a website (not mine) appears on 1st place in Google (on the Keyword Difficulty Tool/Ranking Analysis) but the Page Authority, Page Linking Root Domains, Domain Authority, and Root Domain Linking Root Domains are much lower than the other websites on the list. Even when running the On-Page Report Card, this website gets grade F comparing to the other (including mine) websites that get better grades. I just want to understand which criteria I'm missing that can explain why a website appears on first place when it seems it's not well optimized. Any input is appreciated. Thanks.
