Need help or explanation on my site!
-
My site has suffered greatly since the recent Google update.
I have done everything as suggested. I have had all bad links removed over 2 months ago. I have lowered keyword density (not easy since the keyword is in our company name!). I have rewritten various content and bolstered our existing content.
What gives? What can I do?
As an example the keyword, "maysville plumber" - I rank about 40th for this keyword. The first three pages are filled with websites with literally NO content or no added value. Maysville is a town of about 1k residents - there is no competition. Before the update I was #1 for years on this particular keyword. And this is the case with 35 other cities (mostly small cities, but a few larger ones).
Please help me understand or suggest what I can possibly do at this point. We have hundreds of pages of unique content on each and every page. We have zero duplicate content (I have ran tests and crawlers). We have no fishy links. I have not gotten any messages from google on Webmasters.
PLEASE HELP!!
I asked a similar question a little while back and fixed all of the suggestions.
My site is www.akinsplumbing.net.

first of all dont panic. don't make any crazy adjustments.
step one: breathe.
step two: edit your meta description that sounds natural to someone in maysville will want to click on.
step three: edit the h1 and h2 as per instructed in my first post
step 4: add your website to any maysville directories or whatever county or state that it's in, specifying Maysville.
step 5: join a Maysville community forum and be involved. Let them know what services are available to the residents.
step 6: repeat for the other keywords you want.
step 7: realize if you have 100s of keywords, narrow that down and cater to those keywords or make them broad enough to where you can at least land on the first page for all of them.
step 8: create a google plus page for your website. Just one, and create the content stating you cater to said areas ie..maysville,smallsville,gotham,metropolis, etc..
step 9: wait a few weeks to be re-indexed.
step 10: relax and enjoy the seomoz community.
Edit your content to not have Maysville as the main word in a seoquake tag cloud. if you dont know or use seoquake check it out. google it.
I understand you are being outranked by others with little or zero content, but what are they also doing that you're not? If they are not back linking, could they be on directories?

Thanks for the responses. I am still looking for feedback on my issues.
What do you recommend my step is from here? This is not the only keyword I am having trouble with. There are over 100 that are the exact same problem. I have written great quality content for each and every page, yet I am out ranked by directory websites with zero links, zero content, F grades, etc etc.
Really need help here or advice.

| Meta Description | maysville plumber, maysville plumbing, plumber in maysville ga, maysville septic, maysville septic pumping, maysville leak detection, maysville ga plumb | 152 |
| Meta Keywords | plumbing, plumber, plumbers, atlanta plumber, atlanta plumbing, septic tank service, leak detection, akins, plumbing service, plumber service, metro atlanta plumber, metro atlanta plumbing | 188 |
| H1 | Akins Plumbing | 20 |
| H2 | Maysville Plumber & Septic Tank |Your meta description is too robot like. you need to fix your description to read to someone who actually wants your service.
Your h1 tag should be more than two words: Akins Plumbing has been servicing Maysville for past 25 years<that's decent.="" replace="" that="" where="" your="" h2="" is.<="" p=""></that's>
H2 should be Our Services Include:
You bold Maysville way too much, in a sense overkill. I'd recommend removing those big bold words, since people do get the point that you provide plumbing services to Maysville.
Other things I've noticed:
No Googles Place Page
No Google + page
Do you have twitter? i saw facebook.
Your content looks great!
Except for the fact that Maysville seems to be in every sentence. People get the point it's for Maysville from the first paragraph, guess what, so does google. Cut back on that.
just a few sugguestions: you will need to back link, you don't any on OSE. I've noticed alot of your competition are just directory websites. You may want to look into that as a resource.
Run SeoMoz Reports on your keywords and your website. And pay close attention to the results.
For Maysville Plumber your grade was an A. However there are some fixes you might want to look at.

I asked a similar question a little while back and fixed all of the suggestions.
Diagnosing panda and penguin problems on a site with many years of history and deciding what to do about them is really really difficult.
One of the dangers of asking in a forum is people tend to shoot from the hip with BS and partial knowledge and not enough time to..... study the site thoroughly, ask you all of the necessary questions needed to understand the SEO history of your site, write the book that is needed to educate you about the problem, and then give all of the advice needed to give you a shot at fixing your problem with no guarantees.
Penguin and panda are complex problems. Expert advice requires a lot of careful work done by a person who understands them. That is why you see very little "expert" advice in forums for fixing panda and penguin problems - at least that's my opinion.
In my opinion, the solution to your problem is going to involve detailed consulting and serious painful work on your part to get it solved. You could be advised to do the near impossible work of cleaning a link profile or the heartbreaking work of dumping (or noindexing) reams of treasured content.
If this site is important to you I would recommend hiring a professional who fully understands panda / penguin problems, can spend the time needed to understand your site and has the guts to give you advice that will make you wince.

To elaborate on the 'maysville plumber' example above.
The page that is optimized for that keyword is: http://www.akinsplumbing.net/maysville-plumbing.html
I have taken the trouble to get unique pictures for each city, have a unique map picture and write a minimum of 750 words of unique content per city.
I mean seriously...what else can I do?
I am not being out ranked because a city of 1,000 has over SEO'd pages all over the place. The 38 pages ahead of me have zero links back, zero PR, zero content, etc.
Am I being ninja penalized site wide?

Rankings drop after https migration [Need urgent help]
hey hi guys, i have lost all my organic traffic and in need of urgent help. Plz i need all your SEO expertise. My website is: makemoneyadultcontent.com (before judging me, let me tell you that i have been in adult industry for almost 7 years now and hence this blog was a way to pass my knowledge to everyone who is looking for it) Recently i saw that moving to HTTPS will benefit my site. I did not knew much about technical details of moving to https. My hosting was on siteground, and they have a button which you can press and your website will then be served through https. So i did that. Nothing else was done. this was done on 13th or 14th of june For the next few weeks here is my analytics (image attached) : As you can see the traffic fluctuated and finally i lost everything on 29th june. When i researched more, i found out that you need to follow many steps in order to move to HTTPS. So i followed this guide and completed all the steps: https://www.keycdn.com/blog/http-to-https/ (also checked many other guides and tried to complete all the steps mentioned) Everyone said that the rankings will recover in one week, but now it has been more than 17 days and still the rankings have not improved. My articles are indexed as i can see it using site:makemoneyadultcontent.com but none of them are ranking for the keywords that i was ranking earlier. i have submitted the sitemap in google webmaster and around 166 (out of 218) pages are indexed. Here are few more images to help my case: plz plz help me what i can do to get my website traffic back. i have spent a lot of time and effort in building this site, cant see it die a slow death like this one. 8Wa8c [http ahref](http ahref) D42xw sAd9E

Content Help for Dealers
What type of content would anyone recommend writing for power sports dealers (ATV dealers, Motorcycle Dealers, Jet Ski Dealers, etc) or outdoor power equipment dealers (tractors, lawn mowers, etc) when they're website consists mainly of inventory pages? These dealers are trying to improve brand awareness, but creating content that answers searchers' questions/intent is tough and I want to make sure I am on the right track. I'm trying to create unique content. I am optimizing existing pages and then so far I've been writing brand pages, describing the brands, advertising that they carry this brand, creating links and call-to-actions to the inventory pages, etc. I want to first create authority and crawlable content for this brand. From there, I have been trying to create product category pages, describing the top products under that brand and working to creating product comparison content instead of simply describing it. Why Buy type of stuff, but that gets tricky to make unique. Any suggestions on unique content or better strategies versus just brand descriptions, product descriptions/comparisons, etc? I also want to make sure that creating multiple pages focused on one brand and an overall category isn't cannibalization of a topic. Obviously each page is slightly different and gradually going into more detail, but I want to make sure. Any recommendations on types of content or different strategies would be helpful! Also - I should mention that I am limited by the platform. I cannot create/utilize a blog page or anything like that. Thanks!

Moving from a static HTML CSS site with .html files to a Wordpress Site while keeping link structure
Mozzers, Hope this finds you well. I need some advice. We have a site built with a dreamweaver template, and it is lacking in responsiveness, ease of updates, and a lot of the coding is behind traditional web standards (which I know will start to hurt our rank - if not the user experience). For SEO purposes, we would like to move the existing static based site to Wordpress so we can update it easily and keep content fresh. Our current site, thriveboston.com, has a lot of page extensions ending in .html. For the transition, it is extremely important for us to keep the link structure. We rank well in the SERPs for Boston Counseling, etc... I found and tested a plugin (offline) that can add a .html extension to Wordpress pages, which allows us to keep our current structure, but has anyone had any luck with this live? Has anyone had any luck moving from a static site - to a Wordpress site - while keeping the current link structure - without hurting any rank? We hope to move soon because if the site continues to grow, it will become even harder to migrate the site over. Also, does anyone have any hesitations? It this a bad move? Should we just stay on the current DWT template (the HTML and CSS) and not migrate? Any suggestions and advice will be heeded. Thanks Mozzers!

URL language on Global Sites
Has anyone looked into a page not ranking as well because the URL is in English when the subdomain is geared for a different country and different language? I can defiantly see this taking away from the user experience, but didn't know if there was any concrete evidence or case studies that would show if it is a big deal or not for rankability? I know this is a backwards question to begin with because the priority over rankability is always UX, but there may not be a way to fix it unless I can prove it is a big deal.

Separate Site or should we incorporate it into our main site
Hello, We have a website to sell personal development trainings. The owners want to start 2 blogs - one for each owner - that promotes their personal coaching practices. What's the SEO advantages of embedding both blogs in the current site vs starting 2 brand new blogs with their names as the domain names?

Redirection to mobile site
Calling all SEO ninjas! I'm currently developing single web pages for various clients which function as abbreviated versions of their main websites. They are all related & under a single domain. When a user visits these pages on a mobile device, CSS is used to display mobile friendly versions of these pages. My clients are thrilled with these mobile versions and now want to also redirect mobile visitors from their main site (which is not mobile optimised) to these pages. My questions are: Are there any negative implications if we did this? ie. redirecting to a different domain What is the best method for redirection? eg. JavaScript Can this be achieved by adding a single line of code to their main site Can this be done in an SEO friendly way so that the redirection acts like a backlink? Many thanks.

Site speed - query
When you say site speed, does it mean speed of loading of each of the pages of the website or speed of home page loading. What do site speed tools measure ?
