Hi
We are managing a .com site for a client working on getting the site ranking.
The site is hosted in the US. The content is rich, deep and unique. The site is in a competitive market but had begun ranking top 50 for a selection of keywords and we could see many more in the top 100. The site is now going backwards and only has a few keywords ranking top 50 and all the others have disappeared from the rankings all together.
Any thought as to what could cause this. The site is managed from the Uk but as mentioned is hosted in the US. No penguin issues as all content unique, rich, relevant and fresh.
SEO is also managed from the UK.

Often times you will rank decently right after launching a site but then it will slip a bit. Part of the whole freshness thing I believe.
But can you share the domain or some other site details? Very vague here and the problem could be anything

Given your title, are you only slipping in google.com for your search? How is Bing doing? If overall search from all engines have declined, then you'd want to check that you hadn't blocked something in robots, for example.
If you're not able to give out many details in a public Q&A, consider using your private Q&A question for the month. Those questions are only viewable to you and SEOmoz staff/associates, and we are all under NDAs to not share your URL or any other information about the question.

you should have known by the subject title lol
-
The site and content might be unique, but do you know where the links were if any that you received? That's my first thought. If you have a link portfolio that might be the best thing to look at and see what happened to the sites that were linking too you.

not enough details it could be a variety of things you gotta be more specific

Google indexing is slowing down?
I have up to 20 million unique pages, and so far I've only submitted about 30k of them on my sitemap. We had a few load related errors during googles initial visits, and it thought some were duplicates, but we fixed all that. We haven't gotten a crawl related error for 2 weeks now. Google appears to be indexing fewer and fewer urls every time it visits. Any ideas why? I am not sure how to get all our pages indexed if its going to operate like this... love some help thanks! I've been on the Google Webmasters Tools forums trying to nail this down - https://productforums.google.com/forum/?utm_medium=email&utm_source=footer#!msg/webmasters/OgpmNCc3IFA/mmtgUilyXUUJ I can only think that Google is viewing this as duplicate content from an internal page for example: http://mudlifeled.com/shop Very frustrating because we were moving up on the first page for some good brand key words and traffic was climbing. Now I've got my hands up and am at a loss to what I can do.0 -

Using Google Adwords is good?
I heard about that if you using adwords, google drops your ranking a little bit. Because of you already pay money for results. I think that is reasonable.

Ranking on google.com.au but not google.com
Hi there, we (www.refundfx.com.au) rank on google.com.au for some keywords that we target, but we do not rank at all on google.com, is that because we only use a .com.au domain and not a .com domain? We are an Australian company but our customers come from all over the world so we don't want to miss out on the google.com searches. Any help in this regard is appreciated. Thanks.
