How Would You Plan Long Term SEO (1 year and more)?
-
Hi,
I'm new to SEO and learning fast. Myself joined together with my friends have set up a string of websites each for different products to sell online. To start with we have finalized keywords, optimized the on-page using the on-page analysis tool and right now about to start working on link building.
For the first month we have planned to do around 20 bookmarking, 3 articles each to 15 article directories, 30 directory submissions (priority to niche based), business page listing in hot frog etc, 3 articles each submitted to 10 web 2.0 properties, 1 press release to 15 pres release sites, some Q&A links and few blog comments, 10 video submission and 1 guest blogging.
We have also completed setting up facebook fan page and twitter account and active in them too. For anchor text diversity we will be using keywords only in links from article submission and web 2.0. For links from other methods, the anchor text will be either website name or website url. And we will be targeting 4 keywords per website (2 keywords for home page and 2 for 2 sub-pages). The difficulty level of the keywords range from 40% to 60%. Now, I have few questions which I believe the experts over here can help.
1. For the first month we have planned the above link building, but hpw build links from different websites in coming month?
2. For web 2.0 properties we can keep adding articles to the same blog we have created or we need to create separate set of web 2.0 properties for each month.
3. Are we missing any link building methods or strategy? If so, can you please tell me the method?
I know some of the questions might be silly, but being a beginner it would be a great help to know the answer for these questions from this community.
Thanks,
Sridhar

You need to come up with highly unique and engaging content that will benefit users like in depth product reviews or writing about your industry, make it good and it will generate it's own links and social shares. Relevant business directories are still good, but will not get you ranking high on their own. Since you sell products try using product feeds to syndicate to other sites as well.

Thanks for the reply, I think I would stop the link building as of now and start learning about the link building from SEOMoz beginners guide. But from your opinion where do you think I can start my link building?

Scrap all of this and use the time to learn seo. These tactics may have worked 5 years ago, but you will mostly be wasting your time doing this. I advise totally against 'submitting 1 article to 15 press sites' or the articles. Learn about duplicate content.
1 high-quality, engaging article submitted on a relevant industry website will be worth way more than spun articles on low quality article directories that probably do not pass any value. Sorry the above strategy just seems weak and ineffective, you need to spend your time learning about seo and content strategies and SEOmoz beginners guide is a good place to start.

Viral Marketing SEO Question: If you build a truly great piece of content, what are the best ways to seed it?
There are a few techniques you can use to spread out and get your content out there.
Moz Pro | | shoobi
1. Email bloggers and tell them about your content
2. Share it on bookmarking sites (like Reddit)
3. Contact influential Twitter and Facebook profiles about it
4. Make it easy for visitors to share your infographic with an embed code at the bottom
5. Share it on infographic websites (like https://www.prizebondtime.com)
6. Share it with your email subscribers (if you have an email subscriber list)
7. Post it on your blog, Facebook page, Twitter, etc. Basically everywhere. The name of the game here is to get your content out in front of as many eyeballs you can as possible. Then after that, it's up to how good your content is to begin the viral loop.0 -
How long does Moz takes to update DA and PA value?
I used to work daily on my office website https://quintdaily.com/ and follow link building strategy. however, since more than 40-50 days, there is no movement in my DA, as the PA has just lifted up. However, there is no changes in Domain Authority so far. Besides, other than this website, im working on location wise SEO projects, but, i can find those websites Domain Authority changed in less 20 days. Is there is time period in changing the Domain Authority once it touched DA 30+?

On Page Reports for Long-Tail Keywords?
First Q&A here, so take it easy on me. Hopefully this is not a dumb question. 99% of the on page reports I look at are for local keywords. I'm finding that some of the page reports get and F where they should be receiving A's. I noticed if I manage a long-tail keyword like "books in houston tx" that I get a grade based on the exact phrase as opposed to a combination of the keywords. So when I have text in the body saying "books in the Houston area" or "Houston Books" for example, instead of using my exact managed keyword, it will tell me that the keyword is not mentioned in the body anywhere. When it is, it's just not in the exact order... I'm trying to write my pages for users and I don't think the users want to hear "books in houston tx" several times. If I do a report on the same page for the keyword "books" I get an A. So this is where it gets a little in the grey area for me. I need a solid on page report for local long-tail search terms. Anyone have any advice? Is there a way I could be using this tool to better suit my needs?

How to get organized for Freelance SEO
Hi there, I'm fairly new to SEO but have learned a substantial amount in the last 8 months or so. I currently run my own web design company but want to add a new SEO service to the list. My question to you all is this... How do other SEO'ers organise their week for clients with SEO needs? Do you dedicate a day per client, divide your day up into hourly segments per client? What i'm looking for is a rough guide as to how I should get organized for the new service that I want to provide. How do you monitor what you have been doing with a client? There are sooo many questions that I want to ask, ut feel I may end up driving people crazy. Any help/advice will be welcomed with open arms!! Many thanks.. Alex

Does Open Site Explorer violate Google's Terms of service?
According to Google's Webmaster Guidelines: "Don't use unauthorized computer programs to submit pages, check rankings, etc. Such programs consume computing resources and violate our Terms of Service." Does that mean Open Site Explorer is a violation of those Terms of Service, or is it authorized?

Open Site explorer (last 1-3 updates) shows new and wierd results
Hi Moz'ers! I have a questions for you guys. Can you explain why the website "Netspiren" has a lower "domain Authority" than "Duft og Natur"? See screenshot. I know it's a tough question without a detailed analysis, but looking at OSE's data, does the mozrank, moztrust, C-block don't reflect the power of the Domain Authority. What's you take? BTW: "Netspiren" has always had more and better links, and also had a higher Domain Authority. Something about the Domain Authority changed since the past 1-3 OXE updates. Looking forward for your take on this! Have a good weekend! mnRPI.png
