Keyword Difficulty Tool not working?
-
I just started using SEOMoz and I was running some searches with the Keyword Difficult Tool. It was going swell until about 10 hours ago when I begun getting this message:
"Uh oh... there was a temporary problem gathering Analysis data for your request. Sorry about that! We're actively looking into resolving these intermittent issues, but in the meantime, try submitting your request again in 20 minutes. Thank you!"
I gave it time to no avail. It has been about 10 hours since then and I can't KDT at all.
Am I doing something wrong or is it on the SEOMoz side? Everything else works just fine.

Hi Sam,
This is a different problem from what was reported in October. If you go to your PRO dashboard, there's a section for known issues, and there's a link to our post at https://seomoz.zendesk.com/entries/22457872-keyword-difficulty-and-rank-tracker-issues explaining the current status. We're also keeping people informed on the Help Hub home page, our Facebook page, and our Twitter stream. Feel free to send us an email at help@seomoz.org if there is anything more we could help answer.

STILL NOT WORKING!
Given this is the only tool that I actually need SEOMoz for it would obviously be helpful for me and all your other clients if you could attend to all these comments and sort the tool out because as simply does not work.
-
Hi! We actually had an outage for about two hours this morning while we did some upgrades. Are you still having a problem now?
-
And it's still having this problem three months after the original post. Come on - make your products work properly!
-
I'm not sure of the timing on the traffic numbers right now. Those you can get by going directly to Google Adwords, however. I'll keep this updated as I know more.
-
It is now Sept. 24 and the tool is currently gathering data on the diff score, but not the traffic numbers. Any clue as to when the tool will be up and running in its complete form?
-
Please can someone fix the keyword tool? It is consistently experiencing usage problems.
-
Hi! The current outage is not related to the outage from July. We have had issues with this tool since Friday, and are working on it, and will be tweeting as we have more info. We're not happy about the issue either, and have been working on it since Friday, including on the long holiday weekend.

Still not working here

still not working..
-
I have this same issue. Is it something specific to trial users?
-
Your reply didn't help much as this still doesn't work !!!
-
Hey guys! Just another reminder that if you're having issues with the tools specifically please send us an email at help[at]seomoz.org.
Thanks!
-
Hi Adrian!
So sorry about the slow response today, we do try to be as absolutely responsive as possible even on the weekend. In the future if you ever have any issues with the tools please send us an email at help[at]seomoz.org. That is usually the quickest way to get in touch with us.
Q&A is a great place to get your general SEO and other inbound marketing questions answered, but may not get the quickest place for a support type of question.
We'll definitely keep everyone posted on what's happening with the Keyword Difficulty Tool.
Thanks!
Jen

Thank you Keri.
The hours of operation should indeed be a lot more clear. Even on the Help page it just says "we pick up the phone from 7 to 5". Customer service schedule and hours of operation are different.
The best would be if these details would show up in the error message itself. Something like "try again in 20 minutes BUT if you're working outside our hours of operation don't expect the problem to be fixed before 7 am the next day". This way I can go do other things rather than stubbornly retrying every 20 minutes.

Hi everyone!
We're sorry for the problems here, and we're looking into it now. We also discovered that our handy new Help Hub page does mention our help desk hours of 7am to 5pm Pacific Time, but we forgot to put that it's just Monday through Friday. We are often around on the weekends to respond to things, but not as fast as on a weekday, and we apologize. We'll also be updating the help hub real soon so our hours are more clear. Thanks for your patience!
Keri Morgret
[edited to make clear the hours are for the help desk]

Couldn't agree more. This will be huge factor when I decide if I want to subscribe or cancel once my trial runs out.
This is internet You can't afford to take weekend off - If you don't want to work on weekends outsource it.
-
... and 24 hours later still not working and still no reply from SEOMoz. I guess they're closed on weekends. So much for that first impression that counts ...
-
This is still not working.... and no response lol.
-
I too have this problem. Unable to get keyword difficulty score.
-
I have the same problem

Capitalization matters? Are Keywords treated as Case Sensitive?
I have searched the forum for this questions and basically found the following answer: “Neither Google nor SEOmoz treat keywords as case sensitive. For example, “Jobfair” and “jobfair” should return the same results.” http://www.seomoz.org/q/does-capitalization-matter http://www.seomoz.org/q/are-keywords-case-sensitive http://www.seomoz.org/q/capitalisation-of-campaign-keywords-why-does-this-affect-traffic-but-not-rankings How then can it be that I get the following results in the Rankings Report? (see example pic) And more importantly, which one is correct? sCx74sd.jpg

Is this possible? I've found how to export to a CSV and copy/paste these into the usual keyword management page. Ideally, I would like to export/import the full information, along with the tags...... I have several brands that have a brand.com and a brandstore.com Any other cross-domain features I should be aware of? Thanks in advance......

How well is your Internet marketing working for your business?
Not asking about specifics of money, but this is just a general question to see what kind of return people get for their Internet marketing time investment.. I would say I'm getting over 40,000 hits per year for one business which is holiday cottages but I only own one cottage and act as an agent for three other clients. Because the campaign is working well for me at the moment I get probably 95% occupancy throughout the year, which you would have no chance of accomplishing without SEO intensive input. If I had to pay £0.50 a click approximately obviously it wouldn't be worthwhile, especially when you realise that a percentage of the traffic and not related to your product. I also have a second business which is installing wireless security alarms over the Internet and once again approximate traffic at the moment is almost approaching 40,000 again per year. Now I'm sure there are some big hitters out but my general question is how productive, is you're organic results and Internet marketing for your personal business in comparison to what it would cost you if you had to pay per click? I'm kind of wondering how well the Internet is working people on this forum for their particular businesses? Good, Bad ? whats your story ? Cheers alan

On page links tool here at Seomoz
Hi Seomoz - first of all, thanks for the best SEO tools I have ever worked with (this is my first question in this forum, and also I just subscribed as a paying customer after the 30 days trial you guys offer). My question: After having worked for several weeks on getting the numbers of links in our forum on www.texaspoker.dk down, we are somewhat surprised to see that we didn't succeed in getting lower numbers. For instance, this page: http://www.texaspoker.dk/forum/aktuelle-konkurrencer/coaching-projekt-bliver-du-den-udvalgte has (that's what Seomoz seo tool tells us): 239 on page links. Can this really be true? We can't find these links, and we actuually did a lot to lower the numbers of links, for instance the forum members picture was a link before, and also there was a "go to top" link in each post in the forum. Thanks a lot.

Your opinion on this opportunity's difficulty?
I'm building a tool for mechanical engineers, and I'm trying to find 10 low-competition keywords to target in my first few content marketing efforts. I've got a lot of maneuvering room, so (with a bit of expert advice) I bet I'll be able to find some low-hanging fruit. Here's what I've found: Most keywords are seem to have about 40% difficulty. What's the highest level of SEOmoz "keyword difficulty" that a new website should reasonably try for? Some ranking high-authority pages are don't appear to be targeted at the term Is it fair to say that I could beat any page with less than a 'C' ranking for on-page optimization? (Assuming I target the term with general best practices)* Thanks! If you're interested, here is my current process: Go on engineering blogs for keywords Use Wordstream's Keyword Suggestion Tool for ideas around it Use Google Keyword Tools for keywords above 50 searches in direct match Use SEOmoz Keyword difficulty report, looking more deeply at keywords under <50% If I can find a top 10 page that's less than 30PA and less than 40DA, or has less than 'C' ranking for on-page optimization, I consider the keyword achievable within 3mo, using general best practices. *Except for YouTube/Wikipedia/etc

Keyword tool: SEOMOZ spacific month ? vs adword tool 12 month average but same data ???
Running a keyword analysis in SEOMOZ it shows my the folowing information "Local Search Volume (Dec)". I compared the data for the specific country , language and keyword with the adwords keyword tool and it exactly showed me the same numbers. The adwords keyword tool shows: "Local Monthly Searches: This column shows the approximate 12-month average number of search terms matching each keyword" http://support.google.com/adwords/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=25148 So if the numbers are the same in google keword tool and SEOMOZ why is SEOMOZ saying that for a specif month? If the data is the same one of both can not be right or probaly I didn't get the point. See screenshot: http://screencast.com/t/GyaaW7EkwV Thanks for help
