-
I have my own blog which is 6 Month old with Page Rank 1, and my fiends has a blog with page rank 2 which is 6 Months Old domain as my. I used to work hard on content and Link Building. Following every webmaster guideline spending 3 to 4 Hours on my blog, but my friends website is just crazy, 3 Website links to it with no PR, no Facebook, no twitter shares and nothing. I want to Know How my friend website has High PR than me, Does Page Rank Really matters in SEO or my friend is performing some black hat magic on his website. Best answer will be appreciated thanks

Hi Ganesh,
Keep in mind that what you're seeing as PageRank is the toolbar PR that Google updates once every few months and is not necessarily what Google internally uses (which is updated very frequently).
I'd look at other metrics. Are you making sales/conversions? Getting leads? Getting targeted visitors?

Your are right
Thanks for the Answer

_I wonder why you are chasing PR. If you site is good, has great content and is enjoying high rankings in Google’s SERP, you are good. Do not waste your energy on thing like PR. PR shows the quality of the website and therefore, you have to earn it by coming up with great posts and by earning some natural links. And hopefully, you will see some changes in the PR in the next update. _

Thanks for providing URLs,
Ganesh I have reviewed your website as well as your friends website using SEOMoz tool as well ahrefs.com website. Your website profile is far stronger than your friends, my advice is to wait for next page rank update. As far as current profile is concern, you will bit your friends website in terms of pagerank in next update. Best of Luck for next Pagerank Update.

Hi Ganesh,
Can you send me both URLs for analysis your blogs ranking?? Page rank is still very important factors in SEO because it is the majors your inbound links to your website. You can increase your Page Rank by increasing link juice and DoFollow backlinks. You can use SEOMoz tool for checking backlinks of your competitors and yours, quality links are very important for the increasing Page Rank.
Which tool you are using for majoring your friends website's backlinks and social profile (shares) ?

Should we rename and update a page or create a new page entirely?
Hi Moz Peoples! We have a small site with a simple site navigation, with only a few links on the nav bar. We have been doing some work to create a new page, which will eventually replace one of the links on the nav bar. The question we are having is, is it better to rename the existing page and replace its content and then wait for the great indexer to do its thing, or perm delete the page and replace it with the new page and content? Or is this a case where it really makes no difference as long as the redirects are set up correctly?

Unexpected ranking
We recently built a page for a client which consisted of a one paragraph of about 30-40 words, We weren't expecting this to rank, but it has ranked at #3 on UK Google. So, we are now trying to work out the likely reason for this, as pages which we have optimised do not rank this well. We realise there are a number of factors which influence ranking, but on this particular page we have a news module at the bottom of the page containing 8 short intros to other related content. Could it be that search engines are ranking for the main content shown by the menu link and the 8 short intros associated with that main content? Hope that makes sense. Thanks Ian

Does no-follow for pages affect site ranking?
Hey, I have a question. On my site, it's divided into the main site and the blog is in a subfolder of same domain. Within the main site (same domain), there are MANY checkout pages and other internal pages we use though all with "NO FOLLOW" on each. Despite it having "NO FOLLOW", will it affect our blog rankings in any way or domain ranking?"

SVG image files causing multiple title tags on page - SEO issue?
Does anyone have any experience with SVG image files and on-page SEO? A client is using them and it seems they use the title tag in the same way a regular image (JPG/PNG) would use an image ALT tag. I'm concerned that search engines will see the multiple title tags on the page and that this will cause SEO issues. Regular crawlers like Moz flag it as a second title tag, however it's outside the header and in a SVG wrap so the crawlers really should understand that this is a SVG title rather than a second page title. But is this the case? If anyone has experience with this, I'd love to hear about it.

New site pages are indexed but not ranking for anything
I just built this site for a client http://primedraftarchitecture.com. It went live 3 weeks ago and the pages are getting indexed as per Webmaster Tools. But I'm not seeing it rank for anything. We're adding blog articles regularly and used Moz Local for local links and have been building links in other local directories (probably about 15 so far). Usually I get some rankings, although very low, after just a week or two for new sites. Does anyone see anything glaring that may be causing a problem?

How much SEO value does a fashion site get from bolting text onto the bottom of home page? Does the value compensate for cluttering up a page focused on an iconic image?
Getting ready to launch a completely redesigned site for a fashion designer. Since it is a fashion site, visitors do not need text to describe what the site is about., We are weighing three options: 1) clean design with no text (just images and navigational links), 2) bolting on a couple of sentences of text at the bottom of the page to signal keyword terms to the search engines, 3) following the lead of the top ranking site in the category and adding lots of text to the bottom of the page. Do the SEO benefits justify cluttering up the design by bolting text onto the bottom of the home page, and if so, how many characters of text seem to be the minimum to be effective?

Has anyone noticed a big delta between Google and Bing rankings? For example, we rank favorably in Google, but not so favorably in Bing. Are there different tactics I should use to rank better in Bing?
An example is in Google, we currently rank #1 & #2 for "yoga pants" for Athleta and Old Navy. In Bing, I'm on page 2. Any thoughts here?
