Consolidate 150 domains to 1
-
Hi!
Just as the questions tell we are looking at a project where we might have to consolidate 150 different domains into 1 (of course with a corresponding page on the new domain). We aim at preserving as much of the linkjuice as possible from each domain.
Any advice on doing this propely? I, of course, see a risk of opening the new domain and just redirecting (301) the old domains to the specific page on the new domain but is there any right or wrong way of doing this?
I might add that each domain has a more or less unique linkprofiles in terms om linking domains, number of linking domains and such.
Our dear friend Cutts has some information on this topic, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l7M22teF3Ho but he only talks about 4 domains - which of course seem like a bit more natural occurring phenomenon. But what about 150 of them?
Anyone got any advice? Is this as much of a no-go that I feel it is?
Thanks!
Edit:
There domains are all owned by the same entitiy, share the same GWT and such.

I would suggest to do exactly as Matt says. Do them slowly and start with your lowest traffic domains/websites. As you see the new site starting to pickup the changes and the affects of the 301 from the old domain and the rankings start to show up, do more...gradually. Rather then all in one day.

How to build Domain Authority?
My site: https://www.fishingspots.com.au/ has started to drop Domain Authority in the past weeks, however less quality sites like http://silverstories.com.au/ are rising... I am not sure why? Is there someway I can understand why my site would suddenly start dropping authority?

Domain name change
Here's the scenario... Client has two domain names: domain.com - targeting one country (Australia) otherdomain.com - targeting all other countries Both have identical products, but different currencies (AU$ and US$). The problem (as most of you will know) is that without using a sub-domain or country-code top-level domains, Google has no idea which domain should be served for which domain. Furthermore, because the root domain is different, Google doesn't see any connection between the two - other than the fact they have identical products! My recommendation to the client is to change to: domain.com to domain.com.au otherdomain.com to domain.com Arguably, we could leave the second one alone. But I think it's better for the brand to use the same root domain for each. Obviously this means both will need to be redirected. Since NONE of the pages within the sites will change, do we need to redirect every page, or just the root domain? Any other risks or concerns we should know about?

How do I list the subdomains of a domain?
Hi Mozers, I am trying to find what subdomains are currently active on a particular domain. Is there a way to get a list of this information? The only way I could think of doing it is to run a google search on; site:example.com -site:www.example.com The only issues with this approach is that a majority of the indexed pages exist on the non-www domain and I still have thousands of pages in the results (mainly from the non-www). Is there another way to do it in Google? OR is there a server admin online tool that will tell me this information? Cheers, Dan

We've submitted 2 reconsideration requests in a month and google are not replying to us. They've caused huge loss in business for us over links that are now against google guidelines. I checked our links from the tools provided in webmaster tools and i can see some that are against google guidelines that have recently been spidered, however these links were built in 2008-09, long before the panda updates where this type of link would be classed as spammy.IS their anyone i can contact to speak with as clearly google are too big to care anymore or respond to such requests. http://www.cyberhostpro.com the responce ive got is | |

What to do with keyword specific domains
I have a few domain names with the keywords I'm trying to target for my website. My website currently has been in operations for a couple years, and while not hugely authoritative, has built some value. Now, are these domain names with keywords any use to me? Is there any point to forward them to my site? Do I try to build up a page (or a few of content) and then have a link to my main site? Any insight would be mucho appreciated! Thanks!
